1 The Eagle Press Message from Mr. Hoover Good afternoon. Believe it or not, we only have 2 more weeks until the end of the 9 weeks. The 9 weeks ends on Friday, October 2 nd and students will start their 2 nd 9 week classes on Monday, October 5 th. Fall Break will start on Monday, October 12 th. On most years, the 9 weeks ends with the beginning of Fall Break, but with the calendar this year students will start the 2 nd 9 weeks the prior week. I would also like to remind parents that we have started Math ESS on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 PM for math only. The only requirement is that someone can pick the child up at 4 PM as we do not provide transportation for ESS. My tip for this week is for students to be proactive. As more activities begin and students become busier, it is important for them to be proactive and to plan ahead. We all get busy, and I know, as a parent of elementary students, that sometimes deadlines slip up on us as we run from one after school activity to the next during the week. I know that you all and students must also face this dilemma. If there are practices and late meetings during the week, we encourage students to try to work ahead of schedule and complete assignments before due dates. Part of being proactive is asking questions in class if a student does not understand a concept, assignment, or skill. Finally, being proactive is studying throughout the week and not just the night before a quiz or test. Part of being a successful student is in becoming responsible and organized. When students prioritize, work ahead, and ask questions, they are more positioned for success in the classroom. Dates Football 9/24 Mclean Co. Away 5:30 Softball Hancock Co.
