U10s U10 s Keilor Blue Keilor 3/125 def Aberfeldie 7/120 Report and Coach: Dale Pixton We hosted Aberfeldie on a beautiful Friday night & in the match of the season won by 5 runs in a real nailbiter! Miller was our captain for this game & we had a bat first. We managed 90 runs whilst only losing 3 wickets against probably the best bowling attack we ve played this year so that was a good effort by all. We knew we would have to bowl & field extremely well to win this game & the boys responded taking 7 wickets & catching & fielding brilliantly! Special mentions to Mitchell who hung on to a very high catch & to Kade who took 2 great catches & threw his body around with some fantastic ground fielding. A great win boys against a very good side so well done. U10 s Keilor Gold Keilor 5/147 def Aberfeldie Siddle 8/142 Report & Coach: Peter Cullen Friday night the boys played at home in warm conditions against Aberfeldie Siddle. Aber s arrived with 7 players, Keilor Green were also short of players and Brooklyn volunteered to help out and play with Keilor Green for the night, Well done Brooklyn. Play got under way with 7 players each. Aberfeldie batted first. Thomas and Marco opened the bowling and Aberfeldie got the score board ticking over very quickly. Marco claim the first wicket with a sensational catch by Jordan, the ball was hit high, Jordan run at full pace to his left and falling to the ground managed to complete the catch. Aberfeldie took full advantage for their free hits as the runs flowed freely. The bowlers continued to put up a fight, they were backed up in the field with 2 runs outs. At the end of the bowling Aberfeldie had scored 117 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Will and Jacob opened the batting and got off to slow but steady start, Jordan and Lachlan followed and the struggle to score runs without losing wickets continued. Lachlan did a great job to score 18 runs without losing his wicket. Thomas and Marco were next to face the challenge, and they took the battle to the bowlers at the end of their completed overs they had scored 27 runs without losing a wicket. Harrison came to the crease replacing Special mentions: Batting Bowling Mitchell - 21 Zac - 2/10 Aidan - 14 Aidan - 1/8 Kade - 11 Charlie - 1/10 Next Game: 12/2/16 Keilor v Keilor Rec Reserve. Marco. Harrison and Thomas required 41 runs from the last 4 overs. With one over to go we required 15 runs to get a win. Harrison scored a single off the first ball, Thomas struck the second ball for 4, balls 3 & 4 were no runs. 10 runs off the last two balls. Thomas struck ball 5 for six over square leg, fours runs, one ball left. Thomas struck the ball beautifully for four, giving the boys victory off the last ball. Harrison and Thomas scored the 41 runs without losing a wicket a great effort. Special mentions: Bowling: Lachlan 6 runs off his 2 overs. Batting: Thomas 52 runs including 10 runs off the last two balls for victory. Lachlan 18 runs. Harrison 14 runs Fielding: Jordan catch of the season. Next Game: 12/2/16 Keilor v Kensington JJ Holland Park. U10 s Keilor Red Keilor 154 (drew) Craigieburn 154 Report: Cameron Wilson Coach: Jason Knowles Well it was a topsy turvy game of cricket on Friday night with all the boys doing a terrific job. Batting first the boys showed great resolve and patience, with the team from cragieburn having a real mixed bag of capable cricketers. The boys really made a pretty healthy score with not a lot of assistance from the umpire and some very inconsistent calls with regards to no balls. And wide unplayable deliveries The running between wickets was strong and kept the cragieburn boys on their toes. Come time to bowl the Keilor boys got off to a shaky start. With cragieburn setting a cracking pace, straight out of the gate. Our bowlers found it difficult to take early wickets and apply any pressure to the batting team. As the boys found a late gear, they managed to find some quick wickets tightening the game up. Special acknowledgement to Tom Reynolds who found himself on a hat trick with some lovely little swinging deliveries. Also impressive was a wicket maiden to young Ben koeferd In the end the boys worked their way into the match finishing with a draw Special mentions: Tom Reynolds 4/6 bowling Ben Koefoed a wicket maiden Ben Veal 25 runs. Next Game: 12/2/16 Keilor v Tullamarine Keilor Rec Reserve. PHOTOS If you take any photos of the boys and would like them included in the following weeks newsletter, them to keilorcricketclub@gmail.com. Photos taken from phones need to be sent at the largest size possible. Please label each photo with its caption and I ll do my best to include them, space pending Tracey Hutchinson

U10s U10 s Keilor White Keilor 6/167 def by Strathmore Heights 8/197 Coach/Report: Grant McConville Situated right under the flight path for Melbourne s low flying emergency services helicopters, countless biplanes and nearby a cargo train that took nearly 3 overs to pass by, the stage was set for a hot night of cricket where concentration levels fluctuated more than Melbourne s weather this summer. In a high scoring affair, the boys struggled with the ball in the first innings as a narrow mat on a concrete pitch in windy conditions made accurate bowling difficult. Alas the Heights boys made the most of their free hits to amass a very healthy target. On the plus side, we had a look at 2 hat-trick chances as Alexei and Brody both picked up multiple successive wickets at key stages of the innings. Staring down the barrel of a large run chase for victory, all of the boys performed well with the bat. In particular, Luke had a breakthrough night with some good running and shots - hitting his first two 4s ever in his best effort to date. Owen hit his first ever 6, while Brother Henry was very strong in an opening partnership with the always solid Zac that got the team off to a good start. Lucas and Ben were focused on being consistent with their batting contributions, while the big hitting Alexei and Brody had the opponents shaking their heads as they smashed 4s and 6s around the ground in a final stand. In the end we just missed out but it was great to see the guys give it their all. Special Mentions: Alexei 4/13, Luke 14, Henry 25, Alexei 26, Brody 34 Next Game: 12/2/16 Keilor v Tullamarine Keilor Rec Reserve. U12s Under 12 Friday (Div 4) Keilor 5/76 (day 1) East Keilor 6/139 Match Report Round 11 February 5 & Report & Coach: Martin Metz Captain Aleks won the toss and chose to bowl first. A great start with a wicket in the first over was followed by some very good batting from the opposition - who scored 65 in 10 overs. After that the team was able to get some wickets but were only able to slightly slow the run rate as the bowlers were a little bit inconsistent. Our turn to bat and our batters performed well. The first year players in particular valued their wicket and focused on playing the right shot. Unfortunately we lost a couple of wickets more than we should have and also didn t take every run - which probably cost us around 30 runs. We start next week behind on the score board, but hopefully having learnt lessons from this week they can put in a great performance and make a real contest of the game. Special Mentions: Micheal Gerace 3 catches including a one handed caught and bowled, 2 for 6 and 12 not out. Riley, Tanner and Harrison for batting long periods and staying not out. Next Game: (Day 2) 13/2/16 Keilor v East Joe Brown Oval Keilor School.

U12s Under 12 Friday (3) Keilor 9/54 (day 1) St Andrews 7/70 5th February 2016 Match in progress Coach: Steve Thornton Match report: Ashleigh Thornton Friday night we begun the first day of our two day game against St. Andrews. James led us out as captain for the first time this season, and after losing the toss, we were sent into bat. James and Harry opened for us, and after facing the best bowling attack we had faced all season, we were in some early trouble, losing wickets quickly and scoring at a slow rate. However, after some terrific batting from Kobe, we were back in the game, with Kobe making a total of 30 runs, not out, allowing him to continue batting next week! Next it was our turn at bowling to St. Andrews, and it was our best display of bowling we have had all year! Alastair bowled well, with his first over being a wicket maiden and finishing his three overs with the figures of 1/3. Thomas also bowled two maidens with his two overs, putting pressure on the St. Andrews batsmen. It was also a good fielding display, with Jack and Thomas contributing to two good run outs and 5 catches taken for the night. Great job boys! Next Game: (Day 2) 12/2/16 Keilor v St Andrews Pascoe Vale, Cole Reserve 3, Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale. Under 12A Keilor 1/88 Sydenham/Hillside 3/76 Coach/Report: Albert Panaia NO REPORT SUBMITTED Next Game: (Day 2) 13/2/16 Keilor v Sydenham Hyundai Park 1 Lakeside, Cnr Calder Park Drive and Hume Drive Taylors Hill. KEILOR CRICKET CLUB TRIVIA NIGHT Saturday 13th February Under 12 D Grade Keilor 4/106 (Day 1) Youlden Parkville 6/73 Coach/Report: Joe Armocida Keilor played on the brad new constructed wicket at the Keilor Park Reserve which was fantastic for the kids in sunny conditions. Mitch Pixton was made captain for this game, and Keilor loss the toss again and Youlden Parkville elected to bat first. Bowling The team did a great job of bowling first, the line and length was a much improved than the previous weeks reducing the number of wides and no balls to almost half. ( Well done Team!!! ) Bowling Figures for day one are as follows:- Lachlan Cullen:- 2 Wickets for 5 runs off 3 Overs (The first wicket was caught by Luke Koeford at first slip and the second catch was caught by Mitch Pixton at midwicket ) Mitch Pixton:- 1 Wicket for 10 Runs off 3 overs - ( Bowled - Batsmen ) Anton Zahra:- 1 Wicket for 7 Runs off 2 overs ( Caught by William Cuic at mid wicket ) The rest of the team bowled well, not giving away too many runs. Fielding There were two great runouts for the day the first was by Luke Koeford - off his own bowling and hitting the stumps.. The second runout was by Anton Zahra off the bowling of William Cuic with a great throw and knocking down the stumps Batting The team did a great job of batting Second, only losing only 4 wickets for 106 runs.. Batting Figures for day one are as follows:- Koby Long 20 Runs Not out Luke Koeford 14 Runs Not Out Lachlan Cullen 10 Runs Not Out Luke Armocida 8 Runs Not Out Mitch Pixton 7 Runs Not Out Arron Perillo 6 Runs Not Out All the other batsmen chipped in to contribute to the score ( Great batting by the whole team!!!) A Special Mention:- Kade Long, played his first hard ball game with his brother Koby and played a great game for the team Thank you and well Done!!! Keilor at the end of Day 1 of the 2 Day Game has a lead of 33 runs. Good luck for next week. Next Game: (Day 2) 13/2/15 Keilor v Youlden Parkville Joe Brown Oval Keilor School.

U14s Under 14 Friday (Red) Keilor 6/126 (Day 1) Moonee Valley 7/76 Coach/Report: Kristian Dixon After taking out Doutta Stars with their best batting, bowling and fielding performance as a team the week before. The U14 Friday Red team travelled to Moonee Valley chasing a finals place. Needing an outright result the players produced there best performance of the year. Batting first we made with several players making season best totals. Stefan Koroneos and Ethan McCall being 2. We rotated the order to give us the best chance of setting a total and the less experienced middle order performed amazingly well. We then came out to bowl and despite dropping 6 catches and missing 2 runouts we have reduced the opposition to Jye Tranquillo and Lucas Stavris taking two absolute blinders respectively. Bowling first this week. We will be seeking to wrap up the innings and then play 20/20 cricket for 3 overs setting up a thrilling final 35 overs for an outright victory and finals place. Stay tuned... Next game: (Day 2) 12/2/16 Keilor v Moonee Ormond Park East, Pattison Street, Moonee Ponds. Under 14 Friday (Blue) Keilor 4/126 Aberfeldie Jones 5/136 Coach: Dillion Venables Report: Albert Panaia NO REPORT SUBMITTED Next Game: (Day 2) 12/2/116 Keilor v Keilor Rec Reserve Under 14 A Grade Keilor (Day 1) Strathmore 7/153 Coach/Report: Lou Acevski The day began with glorious sunshine streaming in from a sun just beginning to peer over the billowing oaks on the east side of Keilor Reserve. The dew on the grass would only last for a few fleeting moments as the boys began to circle the ground in anticipation. A better stage could not be set and there best performance would be needed as this will be there last chance to stamp themselves on a competition that has ebbed and flowed like the Yangtze river during monsoons. The burden of opening the bowling fell onto the shoulders of one of our younger, but no less adept fast bowlers. Just like the Last Air Bender, Jarrod M possesses a tremendously difficult delivery that can almost avoid bat and ball contact. And I m sure that I have witnessed it momentarily pause then acutely avert itself from making contact with the bat. His efforts on Saturday were no less impeccable with two devastating spells of bowling conceding 20 runs off 7 overs. He was ably assisted by another prodigious talent in Aaryan, the little Tendulkar. From the other end amidst a swirling wind he was just as affective in curtailing the scoreboard and any ambitions that Strathmore may have had of getting off to a quick start taking 1/19 off his 7 overs. They had both done their jobs to perfection As the last drop of dew disappeared, the soggy towel could be put away and Owen and Cooper could then began to enforce their will onto an unsuspecting Strathmore. Just like a boa-constrictor suffocating its pray, they both simultaneously clamped down on the batting pairs and offered them no oxygen to breath. With each delivery, a gasping sense of the inevitable was transpiring. A wicket would fall. Not because Strathmore wished it, but more so that Owen and Cooper had willed it. After completing both their spells, they had only conceded 33 runs off 16 over and with Cooper also taking 2 valuable wickets in the process. The remaining bowlers were no less effective and just as devastating. Thomas and Bailey, continued where the others had left off and contributed by taking a wicket each and bailey helping himself to a most glorious catch. No doubt a contender for catch of the season. Nick K and Jye also chipped in with tight bowling and even more exceptional fielding from both of them. Jye in particular, demonstrated cat like reflexes and had the Strathmore boys in a cocoon of horror as they tried to take him on running between the wickets. By the end of the day we had held the second place team to a total of 7/153. On a ground that they should have made The first part of the equation has been written. It will now be up to us all to see if we can solve it. The chance for finals is still there. Lets see if we can take it Next game: (Day 2) 13/2/16 Keilor v Keilor Rec Reserve.

Under 14 C Grade Keilor 3/81 (day 1) Strathmore 5/74 Round 7 6 February 2016 Report/Coach: Jeff Reeves We are in a good position in a two day game against Strathmore. Eazy won the toss and chose to bat first. All the batsman played well with Stephan making 16 and Oscar remaining 19 not out. We then bowled and all of the bowlers performed well. Blake and Nathan opened the bowling and it was a great start. Nathan and Matt both ended up with 2 wickets but again all of the bowlers contributed. We have a chance to make the finals still if we win the last two games, so we need to take early wickets next week and then knock of the runs. Special Mentions: Matt 2 for 5 Nathan 2 for 10 Stephan 16 Oscar 19no Next game: (Day 2) 13/2/16 Keilor v Boeing Reserve No. 4, Boeing Road, Strathmore Heights. U16s Under 16 C Grade Keilor 2/111 (Day 1) Westmeadows 4/79 Match Report Round 9 February 6 & Report: Martin Metz Coach: Carl Frame The challenge for the team was to continue their good form shown last week. We won the toss and elected to bowl. The opposition saw off our opening bowlers, but then a great piece of fielding from Jake got us a run out and our first wicket. A solid spell from Matthew H was rewarded when he took two wickets in his 4th over followed by Ryan taking another in the next over, and Westmeadows were suddenly 4 for 53. While we were unable to get another breakthrough the bowlers stuck to their task restricting the opposition to 26 off the last 10 overs. Our turn to bat and Josh and Kristian opened. Both batted brilliantly with Josh the aggressor taking the attack to the bowlers. By the 12th over we were ahead on the scoreboard. Josh got his maiden 50 in the 13th over, before losing a bit of concentration and getting caught. With the loss of another wicket and some tighter bowling our scoring slowed, but we were able to set up a great platform for next week. Special mentions: Josh McDonald 50, Kristian Bartone 32 no, Matthew Hohmann 2 for 9. Next game: (Day 2) 13/2/16 Keilor v Westmeadows Cricket Keilor Park Reserve No 3.
