1 ISSUE #71 SEPTEMBER 2016 COORDINATOR S REPORT The Variety Bus has arrived and is now on the road! It is great to have a safe new bus for our members, thank you Variety and thanks to Commonwealth Bank for your support. With thanks to Launceston City Council, our members have been enjoying photography workshops. Some of their amazing work has been up on our Facebook page, be sure to check it out. We just can t wait until the Picture Us All exhibition in ember. Congratulations to the AFL Inclusion Team on a great carnival. I was very impressed with everyone. All played extremely well and we could see the improvement. Two of our players Dennis O Keefe and Jordan Irwin made the All-Australian Team, well done. Have a look at our Holiday activities and book in to some of the fun things on offer. Variety Tas Bash will be making a stop just for us. We hope you can all join us to have a look at the cars and join in some fun games and bbq at Royal Park on the 21 st October. 3 NHC ANNUAL 2016 GALA DINNER Preparations for the fabulous gala dinner are underway. 29 th October 2016 Grand Chancellor Tickets: $120 (includes pre dinner drinks, 2 course meal, fantastic show and band) Available as individual or tables. $160 (includes the above plus full drink service of beer, wine & cider for the evening) Available for tables of 8-10 patrons. our office asap: For more information and to book your ticket/tables at We are also seeking Tradies to auction, Silent Auction items and balloon prizes (min value $25). If you can help procure any of these please call the office. Keen gardeners? Help needed please! The Club were thrilled to be recipients of a RACT community fund grant to help establish a new programme this Spring; Garden for Growth. Garden for Growth will see us establish a vegetable garden out the back of the Clubhouse in raised garden beds, and we re seeking volunteers to help us plan and plant with our members. Please let the office know if you re keen to get your gardening gloves on and help lead this great project.

VIC Metro 65 were comfortable premiers over South Australia 17. The massive improvement in the player s skills this year and new additions made our 2016 team competitive. There were many inspirational moments from our players in the carnival and the team never gave up and played in such good spirit. We were all very proud. We are already looking forward to 2017 and continuing to grow AFL in our State and prepare for a strong, fit team in The team had a lot of fun while away; meeting many new people and making friends, attending AFL matches, meeting AFL players, taking a dip in the cold pool for recovery, tram rides and eating out. Congratulations to Dennis O Keefe and Jordan Irwin for being named in the 2016 All-Australian AFL Inclusion Team. Dennis was also named Player of the Carnival for Tasmania. Message from 2016 Captain Vincent: (insert pic I sent of Vin playing) It s your Captain Vincent here! The guys in Melbourne played very well, they played hard footy and I know we didn t win but the guys respected the coaches and each other and of course me, not because I was captain but as a friend as well! I would like to thank Andrew and Quilly for helping us on the way up to Melbourne with hard training and really good motivation drills. Cheers from your captain Vinny.
