Tom Hudson returns for his eighth season behind the microphone calling the action and former Bulldog Richard Fox is back alongside Hudson as the analyst for the third season. An expanded 45-minute post-game show also follows every game. Gonzaga s radio rights are owned by IMG, the multi-media rights partner for Gonzaga University athletics, which reached a 9-year agreement with Radio Spokane to air Bulldog basketball. ON THE TUBE: KHQ-TV in Spokane and FSN will once again televise every Gonzaga University game not televised by another entity. In all, 14 regular-season games will be aired locally. Greg Heister returns for his ninth season behind the microphone as the television voice of the Bulldogs. Craig Ehlo begins his fourth season as the color commentator next to Heister. IMG, the multimedia rights partner for Gonzaga University athletics, announced a 10-year extension with KHQ-TV and FSN Northwest for broadcast of Gonzaga men s basketball and other events programming through the season. SPECIAL PROGRAMMING: The Mark Few TV Show will air every Sunday following NFL football on KHQ-TV, and every Tuesday at 7 p.m. on FSN. Greg Heister will host. The Mark Few Radio Show will air Monday from noon-1 p.m. on Sports Radio 1510 KGA unless the Bulldogs are traveling or have a game. The GU Coaches Show hosted by Tom Hudson will also air on 1510 KGA every Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. with the exception of Nov. 17 and Nov. 24.

Matt Bouldin scored a game-high 22 points, including four 3- pointers, to lead four Bulldogs in double figures. Freshman newcomer Elias Harris scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, going 6-for-8 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in his collegiate debut. Veteran Robert Sacre, back in the lineup after playing in just five games a year ago before being sidelined with a broken foot, scored a career-high 17 points and hauled in a career-high nine rebounds. Gonzaga built a quick 10- point lead at 15-5 as Steven Gray scored the last five points of an 8-0 run early in the opening half and Bouldin had his first trey of the night in the run. By the 8:00 mark of the second half Gonzaga had a lead, Gray hitting all three free throws after being fouled on a 3- point attempt, then following with a trey and Bouldin capping the 15-4 run with a layup for a lead with 8:00 remaining. Gonzaga had as much as a 27-point lead with 3:46 to play. The competition takes a giant step up Tuesday when Gonzaga University travels to East Lansing, Mich., to meet second-ranked Michigan State University. Tipoff is 5 p.m. The Spartans were ranked second in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN pre-season polls. The Spartans advanced to the NCAA title game a year ago, losing to the University of North Carolina Michigan State University returns 12 letterwinners and three starters from last year s team. The veteran starters are guard Kalin Lucas who averaged 14.7 ppg a year ago, forward Raymar Morgan who averaged 10.2 ppg and forward Delvon Roe, who averaged 5.6 ppg. Only Lucas was in the starting lineup last Friday when the Spartans opened the regular season against the University of Florida Gulf Coast. The Spartans won Tuesday will be the fourth meeting between Gonzaga University and Michigan State University and the first since The Bulldogs participated in the 1997 Coca Cola Classic hosted by MSU, downing the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and falling to the Spartans in the title game. The teams met in the 2001 NCAA Sweet 16 at the South Regional in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, the Spartans prevailing on their way to the NCAA semifinals. In 2005 the teams squared off in what many consider the best matchup in the history of the prestigious EA Sports Maui Invitational, the Bulldogs claiming a triple overtime victory in the semifinals. The EA Sports Maui Invitational meeting between Gonzaga University and Michigan State University saw Adam Morrison set a Maui Invitational record with 43 points on his way to winning the NCAA scoring title that season. There were 13 lead changes in the final 7:30 of regulation, four in the final 1:14 and Maurice Ager s fifth trey in the final 7:10 at the regulation buzzer sent the game to OT. Gonzaga missed three shots in the final nine seconds of the first overtime. The Bulldogs also had the ball with 0.9 seconds to go in the second overtime following a Spartan turnover but couldn t capitalize. Morrison put the Bulldogs ahead for good at with a pair of free throws in the third OT. Michigan State missed a layin with 4.6 seconds left, Derek Raivio was fouled and made two free throws for the 3-point lead and the final margin of victory.

4 Bulldog Bites FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOVEMBER 15, 2009 Current Gonzaga University head coach Mark Few was an assistant coach the first time the Bulldogs faced Michigan State University in 1997, and was the head coach of the Bulldogs for the 2001 and 2005 meetings, making him 1-1 against the Spartans and head coach Tom Izzo. Perhaps the youngest and least experienced Gonzaga University men s basketball team to ever take the floor greeted head coach Mark Few this season. There are seven newcomers and three redshirts that had never played a minute of NCAA Division I basketball entering this season. Of the newcomers, six are freshmen and one is a redshirt sophomore. The three returning redshirts were all true freshmen last season. There s no place like home, and the McCarthey Athletic Center has become quite the home for the Bulldogs since it opened for the season. Gonzaga is 64-3 in the new facility, winning its first 38 games in the McCarthey Athletic Center. Santa Clara University halted the streak with an victory Feb. 12, That loss also snapped a 50-game home winning streak for the Bulldogs, at the time the longest streak in the nation, as Gonzaga left the old Kennel with 12 straight home victories. Gonzaga s other losses were during the 2008 season to Washington State University and last year s setback to Portland State University. Gonzaga University head coach Mark Few moved into second place on the school s alltime winningest coaches list with the Bulldogs victory Feb. 5, 2009, at the University of Portland. Few, in his 11 th season, is now and moved ahead of Dan Fitzgerald ( in 15 years). Hank Anderson ( in 21 seasons) is the all-time leader. Few is the active winningest coach in West Coast Conference games at , moving ahead of Fitzgerald (112-88) on the all-time wins list. Few also moved ahead of Dick Davey of Santa Clara University (122-88) for second with Gonzaga s victory at the University of San Francisco Feb. 14, Carroll Williams, SCU ( ) holds the top spot. Canadians dot the 2010 Gonzaga University roster four of them to be exact. Three of them come to the Bulldogs from the province of British Columbia to the north of Spokane. Redshirt sophomore center Robert Sacre is from North Vancouver, B.C., freshman forward Kelly Olynyk hails from Kamloops, B.C., and redshirt sophomore forward Bol Kong is from Vancouver, B.C. Mangisto Manny Arop is from Edmonton, Alberta, but spent the past few years in Hamilton, Ontario, while playing with Basketball Canada s National Elite Development Academy (NEDA). Vilarino hail from the Lone Star State. But in a state where everything is big, these two Gonzaga University Bulldogs might prove that good things do come in small packages. Goodson, from Spring, Texas, outside of Houston, stretches the tape measure to Vilarino, from McKinney, Texas, located almost due north of Dallas, stands 6-0. Gonzaga University senior guard Matt Bouldin has been named to the preseason candidates for the John R. Wooden Award All-American Team and Player of the Year trophy announced by Richard "Duke" Llewellyn, Wooden Award Chairman and founder. The list is comprised of 50 student-athletes who, based on last year's individual performance and team records, are the early frontrunners for college basketball's most prestigious honor. Bouldin becomes the eighth Bulldog to be nominated for the award. The Bulldogs have had two John R. Wooden Award Top Five recipients, Adam Morrison in 2006 and Dan Dickau in Blake Stepp was a Top 10 All- American in 2004 and Casey Calvary received the same recognition in Matt Santangelo (2000), Cory Violete ( ), Ronny Turiaf ( ) and Jeremy Pargo ( ) are the other Bulldogs to receive nominations. Bouldin started 33 of 34 games a year ago, his only non-start coming on Senior Night. He averaged 13.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.4 assists/game and shot 49.1 percent from the field, going 156-for-318. He also shot 42.3 percent from 3-point range, connecting on 55-of-130 from long range. The native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., has 1,169 career points to rank 22nd on the all-time Gonzaga list. His 312 career assists 124 career steals both rank eighth on the GU charts. He has started 85 of his 100 career appearances. Bouldin was named to the All-West Coast Conference and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 9 first-team.
