The Cavs and Knicks are meeting for the 4 th and final time in Through the first three games of the series, Cleveland shot.400 (26-65) from the three-point line against New York. Kyrie Irving averaged team highs of 30.3 points and 7.3 assists in the matchup. Cleveland dished out a season-high 33 assists against the Rockets last night and has now handed out at least 27 assists in three straight games. The last time they accomplished that feat was Feb. 26-Mar. 3, 2010 (29 at TOR on 2/26/10, 31 vs. NYK on 3/1/10 & 29 at NJ on 3/3/10). Waiters, the Eastern Conference s leading bench scorer (14.7 ppg), made his 1 2 th start of the season last night and posted a team-high 26 points on (.550) shooting, four rebounds and eight assists in 40 minutes. Matthew Dellavedova registered his second straight double-double after matching his career highs in points (14), rebounds (6) and assists (10) in 37 minutes off the bench against the Rockets. The last Cavs player to record consecutive double-doubles off the bench was Marreese Speights (2/2/13-2/6/13). The last Cavs player to record consecutive point-assist double-doubles off the bench happened over 23 years ago (John Morton, 3/14/91-3/16/91). Over the last two contests, Dellavedova is averaging 12.5 points, including.500 (5-10) from the three-point line, 5.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists in 35.0 minutes per game. (Elias Sports Bureau) After notching 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in 25 minutes against Houston last night, Tristan Thompson became just the 5 th player in Cavaliers history to have two seasons of at least 30 double-doubles (B. Daugherty, T. Hill, L. James & S. Kemp). On the season, his 30 double-doubles rank 5 th in the Eastern Conference. Thompson registered 31 double-doubles in Anderson Varejao has pulled down at least 11 rebounds in three of the last four games and is averaging 10.5 boards to go along with 9.5 points on.615 (16-26) shooting and 1.8 steals in 21.8 minutes over that stretch. Since Feb. 8 (20 games), the Cavs are holding teams to the 6 th -lowest FG% in the NBA (.436) as well as the 8 th -lowest points per game (99.1). On Feb. 14, Waiters led Team Hill to a win in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge after putting up a team-high 31 points on (.714) shooting, including 4-6 (.667) from deep, a team-high seven assists and a team-high three steals in 22 minutes off the bench. Just two days later (Feb. 16), Kyrie Irving made his start in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game and took home MVP honors after he tallied a team-hig h 31 points (15 in the 4 th quarter) on (.824) shooting, including 3-6 (.500) from long range, a game-high 14 assists and five rebounds in 34 minutes. After leading the East to a win, he became the 2 nd youngest player and 2 nd Cavalier to win the award (LeBron James).
