2 Overview Pre-Installatin Thank yu fr purchasing a quality Rbinhd rangehd. Rbinhd has a high standard f quality cntrl and every rangehd is tested and apprved befre it leaves the factry. Imprtant: Please read prir t installatin r peratin Always switch pwer ff prir t installing, servicing r cleaning the appliance. Never use the appliance withut filters. Please read the ntes n general cleaning, especially the filters. Exhaust air must nt be discharged int a heating flue r wall cavity, unless the cavity is designed fr that purpse. Areas where the rangehd is installed that als have gas, il r cal fired heaters, must be well ventilated t prevent a partial vacuum in the rm. This includes gas hbs. (A partial vacuum in the rm culd result in t high a cncentratin f gas in the atmsphere). The appliance is supplied with an apprved pwer cable which must nt be changed. If the supply crd f this equipment is damaged, it must nly be replaced by the manufacturer r its service agent r similarly qualified persn in rder t avid hazard.

3 Pre-Installatin -cntinued The canpy hd is designed fr 2400mm ceilings. The chimney is telescpic and is designed fr hd installatins between 600 t 750mm abve the cking surface. Ascertain the desired installatin height f the canpy hd. Any installatin abve 750mm will cmprmise the extractin perfrmance. The air utlet frm the mtr requires 150mm rund ducting which requires 170mm diameter hle in the ceiling. Installatin Befre drilling any hles check that the area behind the surface t be drilled is clear f any electrical cables, pipes etc. Fixing t a slid jist r 50mm deep truss is recmmended. Pre-Installatin Nte: Whenever pssible prtect the hb tp with cardbard r the like. 1. Befre cmmencement unpack the canpy hd and check that it functins crrectly. 2. Use a plumb line t mark the centre f the cking surface n the ceiling. 3. Using the upper supprt frame as a template mark the fur hles n the ceiling. Ensure that the supprt frame frnt edge is parallel with the bench tp and that the plumb line mark is central t the fur munting screw hles. 4. Drill hles in the ceiling at the pints marked. When fitting t a 50mm truss drill a pilt hle thrugh the ceiling and the truss. If securing t any ther ceiling type please use apprpriate fasteners and fllw their instructins f use carefully. 5. Fr the ducting mark ut and cut a Ø170mm hle in the ceiling. Nte that this hle is nt central t the fur munting screw hles. 6. Fix the upper supprt frame t the ceiling using the screws supplied.

4 Installatin -cntinued 7. Secure ducting t the tp f the mtr husing, use duct tape if required. Slid ducting, galvanized r plastic is recmmended. Use flexi ducting nly in difficult installatins and if used ensure that it is pulled tight. The smther, straighter and shrter the ducting the quieter and mre efficient the canpy hd will perfrm. Tape the pwer plug t smewhere near the tp f the ducting, this will enable easy access t the plug after installatin. 8. Secure the lwer part f the supprt frame t the tp f the canpy hd using the screws prvided. 9. Strip the plastic prtective film ff the tw chimney pieces and place these ver the lwer supprt frame. The lwer chimney will rest n tp f the canpy hd and the upper chimney will be extended and secured t the upper supprt frame. T ensure that the upper chimney des nt slip inside the lwer chimney, secure it s that the upper chimney is shwing. Duct tape r tw screws/nails thrugh the upper chimney securing hles will d this. 10. Offer the canpy hd, lwer supprt frame, chimneys and ducting up t the upper supprt frame and secure in place with the fur screws prvided. The dimensin between the filters and the cking surface shuld be in line with thse suggested in the height f canpy hd sectin. An additinal persn will be required fr this peratin r a simple supprt frame manufactured t the crrect dimensins will aid assembly f the island canpy hd. Finish assembling the ducting ensuring the path is as shrt, straight and smth as pssible. Cnnect t the pwer supply and switch n the pwer t the canpy hd. Slide the upper chimney piece up t the ceiling and secure in place with the fur screws supplied. Remve the transprt tape that hlds the il cup in place under the mtr unit and fit the filters. Operating Instructins Timer switch: Canpy hd will remain n a lw, mid r high speed fr 15 minutes t clear away all residual cking durs befre switching ff autmatically.

5 Cleaning & maintenance General Maintenance Switch ff rangehd befre cleaning r maintenance. T prevent surface damage never use abrasive r il based liquid cleaners. T clean the surfaces f the appliance, use mild detergent and warm water. In areas f high humidity and castal envirnments cleaning shuld be carried ut frequently. Warning: a build up f il may ccur if the rangehd is nt cleaned regularly. Filter Maintenance T maintain efficient, the filter shuld be remved regularly (apprximately mnthly), and washed using ht sapy water r the dishwasher. Nte: Sme discluratin f the frame may ccur if washed in the dishwasher. Parts and Accessries list Uniduct rangehd ducting is the recmmended ducting fr this unit. Prduct cde: Discnnect the Rangehd frm pwer supply. Use a small bladed screwdriver t prise ff the light cver taking care nt t damage the surrunding material. Replace defective bulb with new ne. Replace new bulb using a clth. D nt tuch the bulb with fingers.

6 Imprtant safety infrmatin This appliance is nt intended fr use by persns (including children) with reduced physical, sensry r mental capabilities, r lack f experience and knwledge, unless they have been given supervisin r instructin cncerning use f the appliance by a persn respnsible fr their safety. Yung children shuld be supervised t ensure that they d nt play with the appliance. There shall be adequate ventilatin f the rm when the rangehd is used at the same time as appliances burning gas r ther fuels. Yu must read the details cncerning the methd and frequency f cleaning. There is a fire risk if cleaning is nt carried ut in accrdance with the instructins. D nt flambé under the rangehd. Exhaust air must nt be discharged int an existing flue which is used fr exhausting fumes frm appliances burning gas r ther fuels. The minimum distance between the hb surface and the lwest part f the rangehd is 600mm. This distance shall be at least 650mm, if the rangehd is installed ver a gas hb. If the instructins fr the gas hb specify a greater distance, this has t be taken int accunt. Attentin shuld be given t ensure that any applicable regulatins cncerning the discharge f exhaust air is fulfilled. If the supply crd f this equipment is damaged, it must nly be replaced by the manufacturer r its service agent r a similarly qualified persn in rder t avid a hazard.

In additin, this warranty des nt extend t damage r defects which in Rbinhd s pinin, directly r indirectly arise frm r are due t: Expsing the prduct t acidic r crrsive materials r chemicals such as dyes, slvents, denture cleaner r acetne; Using inapprpriate husehld cleaning prducts such as abrasive cream r pwder cleansers, furniture plish, bleach, menthlated spirits, drain cleaners, sugar sap, metal pads and strngly alkaline r acidic cleaners; Heat damage, including frm washing the prduct at high temperatures; Impact r mishandling the prduct, including the impact caused by bjects scraped alng, thrwn r drpped n the prduct surface r excessive weight being placed n the prduct; Structural r supprt changes in r affecting the building r the applicatin where the prduct has been installed; Failure t clean r maintain the prduct as recmmended; r Pre-Installatin any ther causes specified in the prduct infrmatin as being excluded frm this warranty. 3.
