1 CAMP HOURS 9 am - 4 pm Remember that your child(ren) have spent a long, fun-filled day at camp. Please pick up your child(ren) on time. BEFORE AND AFTER CARE Before and after care is available for most City of Brampton camps. Extended hours are 7:30 am - 9:00 am and 4-6 pm. A separate registration and fee is required. AGE REQUIREMENTS In order to provide a safe and enjoyable program, age restrictions are applied to our camp programs. Campers must be the minimum age required on the start date of the program. GOOD BEHAVIOUR GUIDELINES The City of Brampton is committed to providing a safe and harassment-free environment. Coarse language, physical, aggressive, disrespectful, or uncooperative behaviour is not acceptable. If inappropriate behaviour occurs, it will be recorded, reported and may result in removal from the program and/or facility. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT Please inform us of any family or behavioural concerns. Our staff will make every effort to accommodate your child s needs however, we reserve the right to withdraw your child from the program should their behaviour cause harm to themselves, participants, staff and/or property. LUNCH & SNACKS Campers bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks. Please pack items that do not require refrigeration or heating. Please avoid packing foods that contain common allergens such as peanuts or nuts of any kind. OUR STAFF ARE: Trained in Standard First Aid with CPR-C Chosen for their leadership skills, enthusiasm and creativity Skilled in camp activities Attend extensive pre-camp training MEDICATION For your child s well-being, make sure staff is aware of any allergies or medications. It is strongly recommended that campers take medication at home under the supervision of parents/guardians. Campers requiring medication, (e.g. EpiPen, asthma inhalers) during program hours must have a signed Personal Information Record with a current photo of the participant. Medication is only accepted in daily doses. Please ensure that all medication is submitted in its original container. Campers carrying EpiPen or inhaler are to carry their pens or inhalers in a fanny pack that is accessible at all times. Staff and the department are not responsible for lost or damaged medications. CAMP DRESS CODE For your child s comfort and protection, running shoes are required for all programs; no open-toed shoes. Comfortable play clothes and outdoor weather-appropriate clothing Please label all campers towels, bags and clothing. LOST ITEMS Staff and the department are not responsible for lost or stolen items brought to camp RAIN, SNOW OR SHINE All camps continue to operate during inclement weather. Please dress your child accordingly. INTEGRATED GENERAL INFORMATION New participants to any of the programs designed for individuals with disabilities will be contacted by one of our staff to fully assess your child s needs to ensure a successful camp experience. Services for individuals with disabilities work with staffing ratios of two-to-one in children s settings and three-to-one in teen and adult settings. Services for individuals with needs that require one-to-one supervision is available for camp programs and can be arranged through the Recreation Division for an additional fee. Individuals requiring this service should identify their requirement for one-to-one support and pay the applicable surcharge at the time of registration. Please note: If a participant requires additional support at school, at home or in the community with basic needs such as dressing, toileting or feeding, has a tendency to exhibit aggressive behaviours, does not understand danger, has a physical, developmental and/or learning disability that affects his/her communication, mobility, comprehension and/or socialization, he or she will require one-to-one support to participate in programs throughout the holidays. Campers will improve their math skills while learning about recent technology and conducting science experiments. Learn scientific basics through hands-on activities that focus on observation, discovery and analysis. Campers may also participate in camp activities such as cooperative games, sports, aquatic activities and crafts. These activities vary by location. Required Equipment: Participants must wear full hockey equipment including: CSA certified hockey helmet with a full facemask, hockey gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin pads, hockey skates and hockey jersey. Standard First Aid incorporates Emergency First Aid and is designed for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid including: legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries, and medical emergencies. This course also covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, child and infant victims including two-rescuer CPR skills. CPR-C includes the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an AED. CPR-C certification is included in Standard First Aid.
