The pool will usually be open from noon 9 PM on weekends 1 9 PM weekdays with the exception of and special event days. Keep the enclosed calendar handy. Landscaping There were good turnouts at the two Spring work parties. In addition to weeding, pruning, and cleaning, four new picnic tables were constructed from donated materials and salvaged bleacher lumber. For those who were unable to participate but would still like to contribute their four hours of volunteer labor, there will be an additional work party in the Fall. If you prefer to pay the $25 landscape fee in lieu of labor and have not yet made payment, please make your check out to Wedgwood Pool and mail to the pool, attn: Membership Chair. Call Ann McKee with questions, or annmckee2720@msn.com. Wedge vs. Wood Meet Tuesday, June 22 Our first meet of the season is an intra-squad event. This meet gives new swimmers and volunteers an opportunity to learn the ropes and ask questions, and gives veterans a chance to test their block starts, check out their stopwatches, and fire up the barbecues. It is a fun way to start off the season! Volunteers The committee chairs are busy filling the many jobs for the upcoming swim meets. Even if you have turned in your volunteer form, look for the sign-up sheets on the bulletin board for concessions, ribbons and other committees. It is a lot easier for the committee chairs to have volunteers sign up for a shift than to call every individual to schedule. If you did not receive a form please pick up a copy in the pool office. The (optional) Adult Swim Meet will be held at Sand Point pool on Sunday, August 1st. Warm-ups will begin at 10am and the meet will start at 11am. This is your opportunity to see how much your hard work has paid off. You choose your events - as little as 25 yards (one lap) or as long as 500 yards. Come and cheer for your teammates! We will end our season with the 3 rd annual Adult Swim Team Potluck. Join us at the pool on Monday, August 2nd at 6:00 pm. Please bring a potluck dish to feed 12 as well as your own dishware and drinks. Families are welcome! Look for more information about these events on the bulletin board at the pool in mid-july.
