2 Coachg Staff forward this season. Scott Libby Head Coach Scott Libby enters his second season as head coach at Texas A&M International University. After guidg the Dustdevils to an upper division Heartl Conference fish last season, Libby has the pieces place to help the program take another step Libby guided TAMIU to a Heartl Conference record overall record last season. The Dustdevils made their first conference tournament appearance after fishg fourth place the league s regular season stgs. Before takg the helm of the Dustdevil program Libby served as softball coach at Willliam H.Taft High School San Antonio for 11 years. He compiled a record durg his tenure, leadg the Lady Raiders to five district championships, four regional fal appearances two state semifalist runs. Libby was named Greater San Antonio Area Coach of The Year 1998 after leadg the Lady Raiders to the first of the five District 28-5A titles. A total of 15 student-athletes went on to play college softball durg Libby s tenure at Taft, cludg one at the NCAA Division I level. Currently six of his former athletes are playg the collegiate ranks, all at the NCAA Division II level. Nicole Lozano earned Greater San Antonio Player of the Year honors playg for Libby Four of his student-athletes earned Texas Girls Association first-team All-State honors three earned TGCA first-team Academic All-State honors. Beale Air Force Base California. He would later play co-coach on the Air Force Spa team the early 1990s. Libby holds a bachelor s language arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He put that degree to good use as an English teacher at Holmes Taft High Schools. Libby has an adult daughter, Eryn, teenage stepson, Joshua. Ldsay Barnes Assistant Coach Ldsay Barnes enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Texas A&M International University softball program. She is a former collegiate stout who was a fourtime All-Heartl Conference three-time All-South Central Region honoree at St. Mary s University. Barnes fished her career ranked first St. Mary s history sacrifice flies, second RBI, fourth home runs games played, fifth walks, sixth at-bats eighth hits. She capped her career with an outstg senior season, fishg with a.381 battg average, six home runs 40 RBI. That offensive production helped boost the Lady Rattlers to a regular season Heartl Conference title NCAA Regional bid. Barnes achieved an outstg high school career playg for Coach Libby at Taft High School. She was a double major at St. Mary s, graduatg with bachelor s degrees marketg human resources. Prior to his strong run at Taft, Libby served as an assistant coach at Oliver Wendell Holmes High School durg the season, helpg lead the team to the state semifals. He got his start coachg girls softball at the Northwest Softball League, where he would coach the Genesis team from Libby played coached softball while servg the United States Air Force from He played for current University of Tennessee coach Ralph Weekly on the Air Force Hawaii team from Durg that stt, Libby concurrently served as coach of the Security Police Squadron men s team at Wheeler Air Base. After separatg from active duty, Libby would coach various men s travel teams while servg as an Air Force civilian employee at
