2 NEWS last week s winners The winners must share a Victory and maybe a few pitchers of beer since it was declared a tie for last week s theme, St Patty s Day. This Week s Theme This week s contest theme is Honky Tonk, for those of you who may be a bit confused as to what Honky Tonk exactly is I went ahead and searched Urban Dictionary, below are the only ones that are fit to print! 1. Honky Tonk origin: southern lexicon. 1) helluva of a good time involving good music, beer, and good friends. example: We re all meeting over at Beth s place for a little honky tonk. 2. Honky Tonk A loud, rowdy bar that plays honky tonk country music. Typically full of drunken hillbillies having a good ole time. To go out honky tonkin is to go out on the town to honky tonk bars and get drunk. example: Sam likes to stay out at the honky tonk till 3 in the morning. I hate to see someone out there running as fast as they can and hitting first and then come to a screeching halt. They will have their leg fully extended behind them to ensure they re not out cause their foot is on the bag. 4 Kickballer Aries Time to get your butt in gear and start representing for your team. They ve been waiting on you to make the big plays but you keep falling short. The way the stars are aligned this week your team will once again be disappointed. Virgo The stars have a big game day planned for you innocent little Virgo. You ll be like Darryl Strawberry (without the drug habit) in his hay day scooping up balls all over the field and coming up big with a game winning kick! Taurus You ve got the grace of a figure skater this week. The way you are going to make plays this week, you ll have the whole league jealous, so watch out for any Tonya Harding s looking to take you out! Gemini Once again, poor Gemini, you carry the weight of your team on your shoulders. Gosh it must get so heavy being the one the team always depends on. Unfortunately for you - you re still gonna have to bear that weight another week. Cancer Game day is gonna be a whirlwind for you sweet Cancer. You re team will probably shower you in Gatorade after your spectacular showing on the field, but don t get too used to it, it may just be a flash in the pan. Leo One thing you are consistent with Leo, is your ability to drink a 6-pack and talk some major crap to your opponents. Look for a mouthy blonde to crap talk you right back this week. They got some good come backs, so you may need that extra 6-pack of liquid courage. Libra The wind is at your back this week, Libra, so bunting is advised. You can outrun anything thrown at you. Just remember that luck only stays on the field and won t follow you home. Sagittarius The one thing you have going for you this week, Sag, is your looks. Use them to your advantage to distract the other team. Cause even though you are a natural athlete, your skills leave much to be desired on the field. Scorpio Your mind is in the gutter this week Scorpio, so try to leave those thoughts on the sidelines. The last thing you want is to miss a fly ball cause you re too busy thinking about your new Martha Stewart recipes! Capricorn You better wear cleats to the game Cap, cause falling on your face tonight is a good possibility. And yes everyone will see it and more then likely have a great laugh at your expense. Either bring the cleats or a red solo cup to drown your sorrows after your dreadful fall. Scopes Aquarius Your team will be quite shocked in your performance this week. It will be completely out of character. Don t be surprised if no one says anything about it to your face, just know they ll all be talking about it when your not looking. Who knows if it will be good or bad, just know its nothing like your norm. Pisces Another average performance is expected from you this week. Why don t you show your team how not average you really are! Practice some drills at home and show up with your game face. Average is for the average, and last the stars checked, you were a little above average!

5 Game highlights Cobra Kai - 28 vs Dingleberries - 5 Cobra Kai expected a tough game from a team that had been turning some heads this season and the Dingleberries did not disappoint. Due to some solid kicking by the upstart Dingleberries and some out-of-character defensive blunders by Cobra Kai, the Dingleberries put up as many runs as the normally tough Cobra Kai defense let up all last season. Luckily for Cobra Kai, the Dingleberries defense had a few blunders up their sleeve as well, helping Cobra Kai avoid the upset and get the 28-5 victory. Kicking Balls and Taking Names - 3 vs. Beer Goggles - 1 Remember all of those pop flys you dropped and blamed it on the field lights? Well thanks to Doug Dudu-Stain Velenti this is a problem of the past. Doug retrieved not one, but two bombs kicked into the sun with out even squinting. Despite all of the beer that was consumed pregame, the ladies put up a great fight which is the main reason our team finishes strong every Thursday night. As usual KBTN showed solid offense and defense which is why we are typically in the top 5 at the end of the year. Beer Goggles pitching was strong and they made some great plays, but they lacked the music to get their offense rowled up, which is the reasoning for our win. The winner of the Look what I found award goes to our very own Dudu-stain The Sons of Pitches - 10 vs Drunk & Looking to Score - 2 The Sons of Pitches just had too much firepower for Drunk & Looking to Score. Kickballs were raining down in the outfield with home runs by Scott Biernacki and Chris Casula. Veteran Paul Bray got run over at 1st base but held on to the ball and SOP held on to win BIG 10-2 in just 5 innings. Apparently the refs thought DNLTS had no chance in the 6th and called it a game early, therefore securing tables at BG. Off Constantly - 4 vs Surrender the Booty - 3 The battle for first place in the PARK conference turned out to be a great game. Surrender the Booty started out fast by scoring 2 runs in the top of the first. Off Constantly was able to answer back by adding 1 run in the bottom of the first. Both teams battled back and forth and the score was tied at 3 entering the bottom of the sixth. The MVP for our game, Debbie, got a base hit to get on. Back to back bunts by Jon and Brian loaded the bases with no outs. Co-captain Bill McGough kicked in the winning run to secure a 4-3 victory. Commotion from the Ocean - 9 vs Springfield Hoodies - 0 Commotion played a great game defensively. Holding their opponent to no runs. They were a little sluggish on the offensive side of the ball but got things rolling in the 3rd inning. They ended up scoring 9 runs total. Beer Goggles - 21 vs Where my Pitches At? - 1 Where my Pitches At? got beat AGAIN... but the team is convinced that they are having the most fun! They are hoping to snap out of this losing streak and at least get one win for the season! Boozies & Fluzies - 2 vs Kickolas Cage will rock your face Off - 2 There was some talk that KCWRYFO were the NEW DOORMATS of the Atlantic Division.Little did the Boozies and Fluzies know that on this night a statement would be made.kickolas Cage... um...er AW SCREW THIS!!!!! THE PURPLE TEAM came out to play! Led by superior defense and pitching the Moonstruck ConAirs are Raising Arizona held thier ground and put on a display of such determination that they earned the B&F s respect...when the smoke cleared and the wounds were dressed both teams stood proud and still...winless. Kelly gets our MVP for both her offense and defense while Jeff Bridges...I mean Heath, wins the Most Valuable Hippy as he earned the grey in his beard out on the diamond. Next week the B&F s will be back at FULL STRENGTH as the deployed alcoholics serving Uncle Sam have returned for some kickball, beer and our beloved Fluzies. Ballswell 8 - vs Natural Born Kickers - 2 I guess the Natural Born Kickers aren t that natural at scoring runs!

7 Team Is it Ball Swell or Balls Well? They ll never tell After six seasons of dominating the gravel lot on Spring Park Road and being on a first name basis with the Dominos Pizza delivery man, Ballswell is ready to man up and put their hard core tailgating days behind them in order to play some real kickball. Spotlight on... Sure, they ll miss ditching their grown-up jobs early on Thursdays to booze and listen to pop music in a school parking lot while wearing come-hither, Cheeto-colored t-shirts, but the whole thing screamed sex offender starring in a School House Rock video anyway. Sure, they ll miss the friendships they made with players on the other teams but there s no room for friendships when you re the best at what you do. Do you think Sean White has friends? Don t be naïve, he doesn t. Yes, of course they ll miss the short skirts, pigtails, spandex, and belly shirts (who won t?) but it isn t about being eye candy all the time kickball means war and war means uniforms. You don t see nunchuck wielding ninjas wearing fishnet stockings. They ll definitely miss the knee-smacking, funny-bone-hurting, rumble in your belly laughter but battle isn t funny and neither is kickball. Just kidding. Ballswell is an OG team and too set in their ways to change now, plus they like their spandex and fishnets too much. The orange cartel will be tailgating this Thursday, feel free to join in their shenanigans. Ballswell

8 s id e N o tes Tonight at BURRITO GALLERY The team with the most players in attendance tonight at 9:00 wins a $50 bar tab! Yes, you heard right. Let s represent tonight and party down! One HOUR PLAY TIME There has been some confusion and irritation about the 1 hour time limit, so we clarified with WAKA. Games finish at 1 hour or 6 innings whichever comes first After 1 hour, if the game is in the middle of the inning -- we DO NOT play out the inning; there is a hard stop at 1 hour After 1 hour, if the game is in the middle of an inning we revert back to the last full inning to determine the final score Refs MUST call the game at 1 hour For the 7 pm game, we have a 15 minute grace period or forfeit For the 8 pm and 9 pm games, we have a 5 minute grace period or forfeit (as noted in rules) The 1 hour of play is based upon the SCHEDULED start time of 7 pm, 8 pm or 9 pm We will be using an air horn tonight to mark the start and finish of the games. Any team still playing after the horn gets a forfeit. Don t forget to Come Party at Burrito Gallery after the Games!! Look at all the fun happening at Burrito Gallery!!
