Againt Drake, NU ended a 23-inning corele treak while coring four run over the final 4.1 inning to pot a 4-3 come-from-behind victory that wa capped by frehman Whitney Barrett Did You Know? Nebraka ued the ame batting lineup in Tueday econd game againt Drake and Wedneday firt game againt Colorado State, marking the firt time thi eaon the Huker had ued the ame lineup more than once. NU entered Wedneday having utilized 33 different lineup in 33 game. Coach Rhonda Revelle ha now ued 34 different lineup in 35 game. Sophomore Brittany Pacale drew a careerhigh three walk againt Colorado State in game two of Wedneday doubleheader. Pacale ha now coaxed 20 walk though the firt 35 game thi eaon, marking the firt time a Huker ha poted 20 or more walk in a eaon ince Sheena Lawrick drew 33 free pae in Nebraka ha played in 18 one-run game thi eaon, exceeding lat year total from 56 game. The Huker are 13-5 in game decided by one run in 2007 after poting a 9-2 record in Molly Hill ha toed a hutout in each of her lat two tart, marking the econd time thi eaon the ophomore ha thrown back-toback hutout. v. A throwing error and a bae-loaded walk from Brittany Pacale gave NU a 4-3 lead, but Texa Tech anwered with a run in the bottom of the inning to force extra inning. The game remained tied until the Huker exploded for ix run in the top of the 10th inning, fueled by a threerun home run off the bat of Devin Porter. DeBuhr Reache Miletone When enior right-hander Ahley DeBuhr truck out the firt batter of what proved to be a 16-trikeout performance in game two of Wedneday doubleheader with Colorado State. The trikeout marked the 800th trikeout of her career. DeBuhr i one of only four pitcher in Nebraka hitory to record 800 or more trikeout in her career and the Beatrice native need jut 24 more trikeout to pa her pitching coach, Lori Sippel, for third place on the NU chart. DeBuhr i 130 trikeout away from tying Peache Jame chool record and ha an outide hot to reach Jame mark. Barrett Boot Huker Frehman Whitney Barrett ha not had an eay time o far at Nebraka. In addition to the normal adjutment a frehman mut make, Barrett ha been hit by injurie that have plagued her hort career a a Huker. Barrett developed a rare eye condition that limited her productivity early in the eaon, and he ha been limited lately by a hand injury. Although not 100 percent, Barrett aw her firt action in the lineup in 10 game on Tueday in the firt game of a doubleheader with Drake. Barrett reponded by going 3-for-4 with a walk-off double againt the Bulldog. Her three hit matched her career total of three hit in 26 at bat entering the contet. In game two, Barrett moved into the leadoff role and went 1-for-2 while coring a pair of run in the Huker 3-0 victory. A native of Wetumpka, Ala., Barrett emergence ha helped awaken a truggling Nebraka offene. Prior to Barrett return to the lineup, the Huker were hut out in back-to-back game for the firt time ince 1999 and had not produced an earned run in three game while in the middle of a four-game loing treak. Waldecker made her initial return againt Arkana on March 18, but wa able to only wing with one hand. She did go 1-for-3 with an RBI, however. The econd game of Wedneday doubleheader with Colorado State marked her full return, a he wa not only in the lineup but wa behind the plate a well. She immediately made her preence felt a he went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI while delivering a walk-off, RBI ingle in the bottom of the eventh inning. Waldecker return hould not only be a big boot to the Huker offene, but her preence behind the plate could be jut a big. A Conitent Winning Combination Nebraka homegrown pitching duo of enior Ahley DeBuhr and ophomore Molly Hill have each poted at leat 10 victorie for the econd traight eaon. DeBuhr Taken in NPF College Draft Senior right-hander Ahley DeBuhr wa elected by the Philadelphia Force in the firt round of the 2007 National Pro Fatpitch College Draft, held on Feb. 14 in Denver, Colo. DeBuhr wa the eighth overall pick and the third pitcher elected. A native of Beatrice, Neb., DeBuhr wa one of eight Big 12 player drafted among the 27 total pick. Player elected in the NPF draft will be permitted to purue any available roter pot on their aigned team after completing their college eaon. To be eligible for the draft, each player had to be a enior however being doe not affect a player remaining collegiate eligibility.
