RAY MATTER With last night s 7-2 loss to the Angels, the Rays dropped to 3-18 (.143) in their last 21 games, matching the worst 21-game stretch in franchise history and the first time since April 28 May 19, 2004 it is the worst 21-game stretch in the majors this season, and worst by any AL club since Texas went 3-18 in June July 2014 the Rays dropped to 16 games below.500 (34-50) for the first time since end of play June 27, 2014 (33-49) the pitching staff has a 6.23 ERA (182-IP, 126-ER) in this stretch, compared to a 4.03 ERA before it and the bullpen has a 8.52 ERA (62.1- IP, 59-ER), compared to a 3.63 ERA before it. The Rays committed 3 errors last night, matching their season high (fourth time) this already matches their 2015 season total of 4 games with at least 3 errors. The Rays rank 7th in the majors and 4th in the AL with 114 HR this is their most ever after 84 games (108 in 2009 and 2006) and 42 more than a year ago at this time.
