JACKIE ROBINSON DAY Today is the annual league-wide celebration of Jackie Robinson the Rays will commemorate the 71st anniversary of Robinson breaking baseball s color barrier in 1947 with on-field ceremonies for the 10th consecutive year, Major League Baseball and the Rays will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with all players and on-field personnel wearing Robinson s iconic uniform No. 42 on their jerseys.
