RAY MATTER The Rays are 1-2 in their last 3 games on the heels of an 8-game winning streak, tied for the 3rd-longest in franchise history they are 9-2 over their last 11 games, improving from 4-13 (.235) worst record in the AL East and 3rd-worst winning pct. in the majors to (.464), 5.5 games ahead of the Orioles in the division the Rays are 12-7 since a 1-8 start to the season, and 7-3 in their last 10 games on the road. CONSIDER THIS The Rays have failed in their two attempts to return to.500 (Sun at BOS, last night at DET) for the first time since they were 1-1 the Rays are 2 games under.500 despite a wide range of obstacles: Their 1-8 start matched 2011 for the worst 9-game start in franchise history they went on an 8-game losing streak tied for the 4th-longest of the Rays era (since 2008) after their come-frombehind, 6-4 win on Opening Day vs. BOS they became the sixth team and second AL team since Baseball Reference data is available (1908) to win on Opening Day and lose their next 8 games.
