Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists y including upgraded pedestrian and cycle facilities. Full signalisation of the roundaout construction of two lanes in either direction through the centre of the roundaout in a hamurger type arrangement in an east/west direction. Improved pedestrian and cycle facilities.
4 Temporary traffic and pedestrian management While oth the ridge and Roger Millward Way roundaout improvements are eing uilt, we ll narrow the road, keeping the lanes safe y using temporary arriers. These narrower lanes are for the safety of drivers and the people who will e working close to the road. We will always aim to keep two lanes of traffic flowing in oth directions during peak times. However, at some stages during the project it might e necessary to close sections of the A63 in our work area, for example lifting the ridge into place and resurfacing Roger Millward Way roundaout. These will only e done at night to minimise disruption and we will ensure that the closures and diversion routes are well communicated in advance to local residents, usinesses and the wider travelling pulic. edestrian routes at oth sites will e quality Act 2010 compliant, well lit, guarded and signed. If there are any diversions required these will e well signed and communicated in advance to local residents and usinesses. Construction timetale The ridge and Roger Millward Way roundaout improvements are eing done together so one contractor can work on oth schemes at the same time. This will help to minimise disruption and make the est use of the funds availale. We plan to start preparing the sites for construction in early Octoer 2018, including setting up our satellite compound at Neptune Street, erecting site fences and clearing the construction areas. Once we have estalished the construction sites, work can egin on constructing them. We aim to have Bridge complete y March RMW expected to e complete y summer 2019, when the main A63 Castle Street scheme is expected to start on site. Main A63 Castle Street scheme egins construction Begin construction of the ridge and roundaout improvements Completion of ridge March 2020 Septemer 2018 Summer 2019 xpected completion of the roundaout improvements
