1 FDOT Broward County Traffic Report May 11 through May 18, 2018 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of May 11 through May 18, Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the county. For around-the-clock, real-time, traffic information on major south Florida highways call 511, download the FL 511 app on your mobile device or view real-time video from the Florida Department of Transportation s traffic monitoring cameras on the web at For updated lane closure information, visit our website at and follow us on Interstate South of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale Three northbound and three southbound lanes will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first two lanes will close at 9 p.m., the third lane at 10 p.m. and the fourth lane at 11 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly. The I-95 northbound entrance and exit ramp at Oakland Park Boulevard will undergo a full nightly closure, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound entrance ramps from Sunrise Boulevard will be closed, as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via

The I-95 southbound exit and entrance ramps at the Broward Boulevard Park & Ride will be closed as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday night, through May. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Davie Boulevard will be closed as needed, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday night, through May. Commercial Boulevard will be closed at I-95, 2 a.m. until 4 a.m., Tuesday morning, May 15, Wednesday morning, May 16 and Thursday morning, May 17. Traffic will be detoured via Powerline Road, Oakland Park Boulevard and Dixie Highway. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. 2. I-95 from north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale to south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach Three northbound and three southbound lanes of I-95 between Commercial Boulevard and SW 10 th Street will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. One lane in each direction of Atlantic Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to N. Dixie Highway will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. One lane in each direction of Copans Road between North Andrews Avenue and North Dixie Highway will be closed daily, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. McNab Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction, Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. McNab Road at I-95 will close for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound traffic will detour via N. Andrews Avenue, Cypress Creek Road and S. Dixie Highway. Westbound traffic will detour via S. Dixie Highway, Cypress Creek Road, and N. Andrews Avenue. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Sample Road at I-95 will close for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound Sample Road traffic will detour via I-95 and Copans Road. Westbound Sample Road traffic will detour via I-95 and SW 10 th Street. FHP will be on site to assist motorists

3 Atlantic Boulevard at I-95 will close for bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Eastbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will detour via I-95 southbound and Cypress Creek Road. Westbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will detour via I-95 northbound and Copans Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The Park & Ride entrance from the eastbound exit ramp to Cypress Creek Road is closed, reopening 5 a.m., Sunday morning, July 1. Traffic will detour east along Cypress Creek Road to a U-Turn at NE 7 th Ave/Corporate Drive, and then west along Cypress Creek Road to the Park and Ride. Long-term Full Closure Notice: The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from the Cypress Creek Park & Ride Lot is closed, reopening 5 a.m., Sunday morning, July 1. Traffic will detour via West Cypress Creek Road or North Andrews Avenue and I- 95. FHP will on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from north of Commercial Boulevard to south of SW 10 th Street in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express lanes in each direction. Other work includes: installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I-95 northbound between Atlantic Boulevard and Sample Road, and along I-95 southbound north of Sample Road. Contract time for this $154 million project began Friday, January 8, 2016, with design activities currently underway. Completion is expected in spring I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10 th Street will be fully closed, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists can detour via Hillsboro Boulevard. The outside lanes of I-95 southbound from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. Two westbound lanes of SW 10 th Street at I-95 will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The sidewalk on the north side of SW 10 th Street between SW 12 th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard is closed through May Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk. Description: Construction on this 1.5-mile project began Monday, January 26, Work consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10 th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10 th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10 th Street, widening of westbound SW 10 th Street to add an acceleration

4 lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Completion in spring I-95 from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road I-95 will have two inside lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, between Hillsboro Boulevard and Camino Real, with the first lane closing at 9:30 p.m. and the second lane closing at 10:30 p.m., until 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through May. The scope of work includes widening and converting the existing I-95 HOV Lanes to Managed Lanes which will result in two tolled Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Other activities include reconstruction of I-95 on the northbound and southbound approaches to the Hillsboro Canal bridges, milling and resurfacing of I-95, construction of northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road, and construction of a northbound auxiliary lane between the SW 10 th Street entrance ramp and the Hillsboro Boulevard exit ramp. Other project improvements include: guardrail, barrier wall, attenuators, shoulder gutters, drainage, dredging of Hillsboro Canal, bridge widenings at Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real, bridge replacement at Hillsboro Canal, temporary and permanent retaining walls, noise wall construction, sign structures, portable traffic monitoring sites, toll gantry installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation, signing and pavement markings; Express Lane markers, lighting, ramp metering signals, utility relocation, and landscape relocation. Contract time for this $102 million project began Monday, July 10, 2017, with design and construction activities currently underway. 5 lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, May 13 through Thursday, May 17 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, May 13 through Thursday, May 17. Segment D - I-75 from South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road One eastbound and one westbound lane of Sheridan Street will be closed Sunday, May 13 through Thursday, May 17 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

6 One northbound and one southbound ramp lane of Sheridan Street from south of Sheridan Street to Sheridan Street will be closed Sunday, May 13 through Thursday, May 17 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. 8. Segment E - I-75 from North of Griffin Road to I-595 in Broward County All lanes are open. 595 Express One left lane on I-595 Westbound from US-1 will be closed from 9:00pm to 5:00am on Monday, May 14, 2018 until Friday, May 18, 2018 for CMS work. Two left lanes on I-595 Westbound from US-1 will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 until Friday, May 18, 2018 for CMS work. Two left lanes on Florida s Turnpike Northbound between Sheridan Street and Griffin Road will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 16, 2018 until Friday, May 18, 2018 for CMS work. Two left lanes on Florida s Turnpike Northbound between Griffin Road and SW 36 th Street will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Thursday May 17, 2018 until Friday, May 18, 2018 for CMS work. Northeast Broward 9. Broward Boulevard Improvements and Bridge Replacement Project in Fort Lauderdale Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 18 Avenue (500 feet maximum at a time) will be closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage improvements, widening, curb and gutter installation, sidewalk construction, and street light pole installation. Portions of the sidewalk on either side of the road from NW 18 Avenue to US 1 are closed for construction. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the open sidewalk on the opposite side of the road. One westbound lane of Broward Boulevard from NW 15 Avenue to NW 18 Avenue at the approaches to and from the bridge over the North Fork New River may be closed at any time through May for emergency AT&T fiber relocation. Description: Project improvements include replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the New River, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading signs and pavement markings, relocating bus shelters, adding roadway lighting, installing drainage structures, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, reconstructing sidewalks, and widening roadway to add bike lanes in each direction. Hillsboro Boulevard Improvements Project from Military Trail to US 1 in Deerfield Beach One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 may be closed for signalization improvements, paving, striping, and miscellaneous construction activities through May. Up to two lanes in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 will be closed nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. through May for milling and resurfacing. Description: Project improvements include improving the off-ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard including adding a new signalized intersection and adding second lane to increase capacity, relocating and upgrading drainage structures, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, constructing new stamped asphalt crosswalks from east of Natura Boulevard to US 1, upgrading existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, installing new decorative lighting, constructing new medians east of SE 2 Avenue, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading signs and pavement markings to reflect the new roadway configuration as follows: (1) Military Trail to Dixie Highway - Three 11-foot lanes in each direction (2) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1 - Two 11-foot lanes in each direction, and adding a bike lane or sharrows in each direction as follows: (1) Military Trail to NW/SW 2 Terrace - 4-foot bike lane (2) NW / SW 2 Terrace to NE / SE 2 Avenue - Sharrow symbols to designate that the outside travel lane will be shared with vehicles (3) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1-7-foot bike lane. Cost/Completion: $9.4 million / Early Broward Mobility Project One lane on each direction of NW 31 Avenue from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Thursday evenings between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for milling and resurfacing. One lane in each direction of SW 4 Avenue from SW 28 Street to SR 84 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for roadway widening and median reconstruction. Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multiuse pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes along 45 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale. 8 One lane in each direction of A1A from NE 40 Street to NE 41 Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for landscaping and irrigation work. Description: Project improvements include installing a new irrigation system in the median and along both sides of the road and installing plants in the median and along both sides of the road, including various species of palms, shade trees and shrubs. Sunset Strip Complete Streets Project in Sunrise Boulevard from Sunrise Boulevard to Nob Hill Boulevard One lane in each direction of Sunset Strip at University Drive may be closed for lighting improvements Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The outside lane in each direction of Sunset Strip from Nob Hill Road to University Drive may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for driveway reconstruction. The outside lane in each direction of Sunset Strip from NW 64 Avenue to NW 15 Street may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for driveway reconstruction. Description: The improvements under this contract include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, adding roadway lighting, upgrading existing drainage structures and adding one new drainage structure east of NW 68 Avenue, replacing the signalized intersection at NW 64 Avenue with a roundabout, replacing the four-way stop sign at NW 19 Street with a roundabout, reconstructing sidewalks in various locations, upgrading signs and pavement markings, and adding bike lanes throughout the corridor as follows Nob Hill Road to NW 15 Street: Eliminating a travel lane by milling, resurfacing, and restriping to provide one 12- foot travel lane and a 6-foot bike lane separated by a 3-foot striped buffer; NW 15 Street to Sunrise Boulevard: Widening the road to accommodate 5-foot bike lanes; At the intersections of Nob Hill Road, Pine Island Road, University Drive and Sunrise Boulevard, two through lanes will be maintained in each direction and the road will be widened to provide a 5-foot bike lane. 9 One lane in each direction of SR 7 from north of NW 31 Street to south of the Broward / Palm Beach County Line will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the installation of drainage structures. One southbound lane of SR 7 from Atlantic Boulevard to NW 31 Street will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for conduit installation. Description: The improvements under this contract include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading pedestrian features including 10-foot sidewalks on both sides and detectable warning surfaces at crosswalks, installing overhead sign structures, upgrading signs and pavement markings to include a 7-foot bike lane in each direction, installing new bus shelters with bicycle racks, trash receptacles, and benches, upgrading drainage structures, upgrading signalization, including pedestrian signals and detectors and vehicle video detection, and upgrading lighting. Cost/Completion: $13,403, / Late 2019 Broward / Palm Beach County Line to south of Glades Road: One lane in each direction of SR 7 from the Broward / Palm Beach County Line to south of Glades Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for concrete, drainage, and sod placement. The signalized intersection at SR 7 and Marina Boulevard / SW 18 Street will be inoperable while crews replace the traffic control cabinet overnight Thursday, May 17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Officers will be on site to direct traffic through the intersection. Description: The improvements under this contract include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, minor shoulder widening, upgrading drainage structures, upgrading pedestrian features including a 10-foot sidewalk on the west side and a 5-foot sidewalk on the east side, and detectable warning surfaces at crosswalks, upgrading signalization, including pedestrian signals and detectors and vehicle video detection, upgrading signs and pavement markings to include a 7-foot bike lane in each direction, and upgrading lighting. Cost/Completion: $6,772, / Spring Districtwide Truck Parking Availability System Project in Martin, St. Lucie, and Broward Counties There are no anticipated traffic impacts on this project and no more than three (3) parking stops will be closed at a time at each location. All lanes are open through May 18. Description: On Monday, March 19, Traffic Control Devices, Inc. will begin installing a Truck Parking Availability System (TPAS) at rest areas and weigh stations in Martin, St. Lucie, and Broward Counties, which detects available spaces at rest areas and weigh

10 stations and alerts commercial drivers via message boards. The Truck Parking Availability System installation will occur at the following locations: I-95 Northbound & Southbound Rest Areas in St. Lucie County at MM 133, two miles north of Orange Avenue / SR 68 (Exit 131), near Ft. Pierce; I-95 Northbound Rest Area in Martin County at MM 106, four miles south of Martin Highway / SR 714 (Exit 110), near Palm City; I-95 Southbound Rest Area in Martin County at MM 107, three miles south of Martin Highway / SR 714 (Exit 110), near Palm City; I-95 Southbound Weigh-in-Motion Station in Martin County at MM 113, one mile south of Becker Road (Exit 114), near Palm City; I-95 Northbound Weighin-Motion Station in Martin County at MM 92, four miles south of Bridge Road (Exit 96), near Hobe Sound; and I-75 Rest Area in Broward County at MM 34, 11 miles north of SR 25 / US 27 South (Exit 23), near Weston. Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project in Hollywood from east of City Hall Circle to Dixie Highway Eastbound traffic has been shifted slightly north into the dual left turn lane to accommodate the work on the south side of the road. One lane will be maintained in each direction. A portion of the left turn lane from westbound Hollywood Boulevard to southbound Dixie Highway will be continuously closed beginning Thursday, May 10 7 a.m. at through Friday, May 25 at 7 p.m. for underground drilling to install a new water main underneath Dixie Highway. Left turns will be permitted from the remaining portion of the turn lane. This work will take place Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Description: The improvements under this contract include removing old asphalt, resurfacing the roadway, adding decorative lighting, widening sidewalks and adding decorative pattern, upgrading existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, constructing new median with parallel parking, replacing the existing water main and connections at various cross streets, and upgrading signs and pavement markings to reflect the new roadway configuration as follows: two lanes in each direction throughout the entire corridor, a four-foot bike lane in each direction separated by a two-foot buffer throughout the entire corridor.
