1 FDOT Broward County Traffic Report March 2 through March 9, 2018 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of March 2 through March 9. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the county. For around-the-clock, real-time, traffic information on major south Florida highways call 511, download the FL 511 app on your mobile device or view real-time video from the Florida Department of Transportation s traffic monitoring cameras on the web at For updated lane closure information, visit our website at and follow us on INTERSTATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS 1.I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale Three northbound and three southbound lanes of I-95 between Broward Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed to all traffic Sunday night through Thursday night from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured off I-95 at Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to direct motorists. I-95 in both directions, from south of Davie Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard, will have intermittent shoulder and ramp shoulder closures, as needed, daily and nightly. The southbound I-95 exit ramp to Davie Boulevard will be closed Sunday night, March 11 through Thursday night, March 15 between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. One lane of the eastbound/westbound I-595 to northbound I-95 will be closed overnight Sunday, March 11 through Thursday night, March 15 between 11:30 p.m.and 5 a.m. each night. Advanced Notice: The southbound exit and entrance ramps at Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed intermittently11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 18 through Thursday, April 12. When closed, traffic will be detoured via I-95 to Sunrise Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

2 Advanced Notice: The southbound exit and entrance ramps at Sunrise Boulevard will be closed, as needed, 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 18 through Thursday, April 12. When closed traffic will be closed to either Broward Boulevard or Oakland Park Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express lanes in each direction. Other work includes: installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I- 95 Southbound between Broward Boulevard and NW 6 th Street, and along I-95 Northbound between Powerline Road and Commercial Boulevard. Eastbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Copans Road. Westbound Sample Road traffic will be detoured via I-95 and SW 10th Street. FHP will be on site to direct motorists Atlantic Boulevard at I-95 will be closed to all traffic overnight Sunday through Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Eastbound Atlantic Boulevard traffic will be detoured via I-95 south to Cypress Creek Road. Westbound Atlantic Boulevard will be detoured via I- 95 north to Copans Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from westbound Atlantic Boulevard will be closed to all traffic overnight Sunday through Thursday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 to cypress Creek Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Atlantic Boulevard will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via N. Andrews Avenue. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. I-95 southbound exit ramp to Cypress Creek Road will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night, February 25 through Thursday, March 1. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Atlantic Boulevard is completely closed through March Traffic is detoured to a temporary ramp just south of the closed ramp. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Andrews Avenue will be closed nightly, 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via Commercial Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from north of Commercial Boulevard to south of SW 10 th Street in Broward County. Completion is expected in spring I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10th Street will be closed nightly, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night through May between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured via Hillsboro Boulevard The outside lanes of southbound I-95 from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th Street will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night with the first lane closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. Two westbound lanes of SW 10th Street at I-95 will be closed Sunday night through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The sidewalk on the north side of SW 10th Street between SW 12th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard is closed through February Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk Description: Construction on this 1.5-mile project began Monday, January 26, Work consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10 th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10 th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10 th Street, widening of westbound SW 10 th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Completion in spring I-95 from south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach to south of Glades Road in Boca Raton I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound Hillsboro Bouelvard will be closed nightly 11 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound Hillsboro Boulevard. Project Open House: FDOT and our project partners are holding a construction Open House to discuss new construction in this area that will extend the High Occupancy Tolled Express Lanes into south Palm Beach County. The Open House will be held on Wednesday, March 14 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Spanish River Library at 1501 Spanish River Boulevard, Boca Raton FL Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of SW 10 th Street to south of Glades Road in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Scope of work includes widening and converting the existing I-95 HOV Lanes to Managed Lanes which will result in two tolled Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Other activities include reconstruction of I-95 on the northbound and southbound approaches to the Hillsboro Canal bridges, milling and resurfacing of I-95, construction of northbound and southbound auxiliary lanes between Hillsboro Boulevard and Palmetto Park Road, and construction of a northbound auxiliary lane between the SW 10 th Street entrance ramp and the Hillsboro Boulevard exit ramp. Other project improvements include: guardrail, barrier wall, attenuators, shoulder gutters, drainage, dredging of Hillsboro Canal, bridge widenings at Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real, bridge replacement at Hillsboro Canal, temporary and permanent retaining walls, noise wall construction, sign structures, portable traffic monitoring sites, toll gantry installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) installation, signing and pavement markings; Express Lane markers, lighting, ramp metering signals, utility relocation, and landscape relocation. Contract time for this $102 million project began Monday, July 10, 2017, with design activities currently underway. Completion is expected in spring I-75 from NW 170 th Street in Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County Segment A & B (NW 170 th Street in Miami-Dade County to South of Miramar Parkway in Broward County) Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miami Gardens Drive to NW 170 Street will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be

5 closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Florida s Turnpike to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed 10 p.m. Friday, March 2 to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 3. These lanes are also scheduled to close nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from Miramar Parkway to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound lanes will from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Two northbound lanes of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Miami Gardens Drive will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from Red Road to the I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Florida s Turnpike from I-75 Interchange to Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One northbound ramp lane of Florida s Turnpike from Okeechobee Road to I-75 Interchange will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One southbound ramp lane of I-75 from Snake Creek Canal to Florida s Turnpike will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from NW 170 Street to Florida s Turnpike will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The northbound ramp to I-75 from Florida s Turnpike will be closed 10 p.m. Monday, March 5 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 6. During this time, motorists wishing to use the northbound ramp to I-75 from Florida s Turnpike will be detoured to exit at US 27/Okeechobee Road (Exit 35), continue south on US 27/Okeechobee Road to NW 138th Street, and east on NW 138th Street to Hialeah Garden Boulevard to take the northbound entrance ramp to I-75. All northbound lanes on I-75 between Florida s Turnpike and Bass Creek Bridge will be closed 10 p.m. Monday, March 5 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 6. During this time, motorists wishing to travel northbound on I-75 between Florida s Turnpike and Bass Creek Bridge will be detoured to exit at Miami Gardens Drive (Exit 4), continue east on Miami Gardens Drive to Flamingo Road, north on Flamingo Road to Miramar Parkway, and west on Miramar Parkway to take the northbound entrance ramp to I-75. Segment C (South of Miramar Parkway to South of Sheridan Street) One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Miramar Parkway will be closed Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed nightly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north Pines Boulevard will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane

6 will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Pines Boulevard to north of Pines Boulevard will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Miramar Parkway to north of Pines Boulevard will be closed Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8. The northbound lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction of Miramar Parkway from west of I-75 to east of I-75 will be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Segment D (South of Sheridan Street to North of Griffin Road) One lane in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road will be closed daily Saturday, March 3 through Saturday, March 10. The northbound lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the southbound lane will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from south of Sheridan Street to north of Griffin Road will be closed nightly Saturday, March 3 through Saturday, March 10 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. one lane in each direction of Sheridan Street will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Two lanes in each direction of Sheridan Street may be closed nightly Sunday, March 4 through Thursday, March 8 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Segment E (North of Griffin Road to I-595) The entrance ramp from eastbound I-595 into the express lanes, located west of SW 136 Avenue, will be closed continuously for seven days from 4 a.m. Saturday, March 3 through 4 a.m. Saturday, March 10. During this time, motorists wishing to use the express lanes should continue east on I-595 to the express lane entrance ramp just east of SW 136 Avenue. Two southbound lanes of I-75 from the Sawgrass Expressway to south of Royal Palm Boulevard will be closed daily Sunday, March 4 through Friday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and overnight 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Northbound Lane Balancing Project (Indian Trace to I-595)

7 All lanes are open Description: This 15-mile project will add four tolled managed lanes in the I-75 median from NW 170 th Street in northern Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County. The work will be completed in four segments to minimize the impact to the public. This project includes entrance and exit access points to the express lanes; a bridge with a direct connection to 595 Express; integrated Intelligent Transportation System and tolling components; noise barrier walls at various locations and new signage, lighting, drainage and landscaping improvements. Completion in early NORTHEAST BROWARD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS 6.A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue in Fort Lauderdale One lane in each direction on A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue may be intermittently closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Description: Project improvements include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway within the project limits, upgrading sidewalks and ramps to meet ADA requirements, repairing, adjusting, and replacing drainage structures throughout the project limits, upgrading the following existing intersections to mast arm signals: 34th Street, mid-block between 36th and 40th Street, and at 40th Street, upgrading all existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, upgrading signs and pavement markings throughout the project limits, including adding a 1.5 foot striped buffer to separate the four-foot wide bike lanes from the outside vehicle travel lane, upgrading existing lighting along the corridor to lighting with a variable intensity function that can be accessed remotely in order to cause minimal disruption to sea turtles during their nesting season, adding elevated roadway lighting and lower level lighting to illuminate the sidewalk, and adding a business access drive aisle along the east side of road between NE 34th and NE 36th Street. Cost/Completion: $9.3 million / Early Broward Boulevard from NW 18 Avenue to US 1 in Fort Lauderdale The sidewalk is closed along the north side of Broward Boulevard between NW 18 Avenue and NW 15 Avenue Detour signs are in place to guide pedestrians Westbound traffic is shifted slightly north and will use the 3-lane temporary bridge for the duration of construction Eastbound traffic is shifted slightly north to the newly constructed north side of the bridge through early 2018 while crews construct the south side of the bridge

8 Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 18 Avenue (500 feet maximum at a time) will be closed weekdays between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A portion of the sidewalk is closed on either side of Broward Boulevard from NW 18 Avenue to US 1 Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the open sidewalk on the opposite side of the road SW 15 Terrace is closed at Broward Boulevard through April Detour signage is in place to guide motorists via SW 14 Avenue to access SW 15 Terrace Description: Project improvements include replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the New River, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading signs and pavement markings, relocating bus shelters, adding roadway lighting, installing drainage structures, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, reconstructing sidewalks, and widening roadway to add bike lanes in each direction. Cost/Completion: $16 million / Summer Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 in Deerfield Beach The off ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed overnight March 7 and March 8 between 11 p.m.and 5:30 a.m. During this closure crews will remove the impact attenuator and temporary barrier walls and resurface the ramp. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists to the I-95 off ramp to westbound Hillsboro Boulevard where they can make a T-Turn at SW 12 Avenue/Jim Moran Boulevard to access eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 may be closed through April Up to two lanes in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 will be closed nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. through March The outside westbound lane of Hillsboro Boulevard from SE 2 Avenue to US 1 is closed permanently. This lane will remain closed as the final configuration includes two lanes in this segment of Hillsboro Boulevard The inside lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from east of I-95 to east of Dixie Highway will be closed through early March Description: Project improvements include improving the off-ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard including adding a new signalized intersection and adding second lane to increase capacity, relocating and upgrading drainage structures, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, constructing new stamped asphalt crosswalks from east of Natura Boulevard to US 1, upgrading existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, installing new decorative lighting, constructing new medians east of SE 2 Avenue, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading signs and pavement markings to reflect the new roadway configuration as follows: (1) Military

9 Trail to Dixie Highway - Three 11-foot lanes in each direction (2) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1 - Two 11-foot lanes in each direction, and adding a bike lane or sharrows in each direction as follows: (1) Military Trail to NW/SW 2 Terrace - 4-foot bike lane (2) NW / SW 2 Terrace to NE / SE 2 Avenue - Sharrow symbols to designate that the outside travel lane will be shared with vehicles (3) NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1-7-foot bike lane. Cost/Completion: $9.4 million / Early Broward Mobility Project: SW 31 Avenue from Riverland Road to Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale One lane in each direction of NW 31 Avenue from Broward Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday night between 8:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. to remove old asphalt and repave the travel lanes Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths and bicycle lanes along 45 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale. Cost/Completion: $15 million / Fall Old Dixie Highway from NE 13 th Street to the south end of the Middle River Bridge in Fort Lauderdale Traffic Impacts: The new roundabout at NE 16 Court is open to traffic. One lane in both directions of Old Dixie Highway from NE 13 Street to the south end of the Middle River Bridge may be closed weekdays through Friday, March 2, 2018 between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists can expect delays. No Thru Trucks signs have been installed at both ends of the corridor (NE 13 th Street in Fort Lauderdale and NE 11 th Avenue in Wilton Manors) to enhance safety now that portions of Old Dixie Highway have been narrowed to accommodate the construction work Lanes widths have been narrowed from NE 14 Place to NE 18 Court. This is a No Passing Zone. Use caution when driving through the work zone There is a new traffic pattern in place from NE 14 Place to NE 16 Court because of the new raised intersections, raised crosswalks, and new roundabout at NE 16 Court.
