2 The Honorable Susan Mcsweeney October 4, 216. NOTEWORTHY NCDENTS A theft was reported in the 57 block of Corsa Avenue. The suspects were seen by an employee of the location walking through the parking lot carrying the stolen property. When the employee yelled at them, they dropped the stolen property and fled in a silver Chevrolet Tahoe. The suspects were described as male Hispanics, all between 25 and 35 years of age. The case is on-going. ( ) A theft occurred in the 37 block of Russell Ranch Road. The suspects (two male Hispanics) entered the location holding a duffle bag. The suspects used this duffle bag to conceal approximately 21 boxes of teeth whitening product and then exited the location without attempting to pay for the items. The suspects fled in an unknown style vehicle. (16-493) A theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 311 block of Thousand Oaks Blvd. The victim began to receive numerous text messages from various credit card companies notifying victim of suspicious activity on the cards. After receiving the alerts, the victim discovered wallet and its contents were stolen from the unlocked vehicle. Video surveillance footage showed the suspect as a male White, heavy set, wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap. (16-521) ll. TRAFFC See attached. V. AGENDZED CAR See attached. V. 11 LOST HLLS JUVENLE NTERVENTON UNT ACTVTY REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 216 WESTLAKE VLLAGE A. SCHOOL SSUES We prepared School Safety Plans for schools in Westlake Village. No interventions were held this month. B. NTERVENTONS C. COMMUNTY CRMNAL SSUES 1. We conducted a monthly parental resource class at Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. This program was developed by our unit and is designed to educate parents about: 1) The current trends in juvenile behavior and delinquency, 2) Alcohol/narcotic awareness and recognition, 3) School policy and campus issues, 4) Gang awareness and negative peer relations, 5) Parental rights and responsibilities and, 6) Parental responses to incorrigible and/or delinquent behavior. We also address the specific concerns relating to the minor's behavior. We educate the minor and their parents of possible criminal behavior and the legal consequences. We offer suggestions and make recommendations to improve the minor's quality of life. 2. We spoke with numerous citizens and parents who called to question various juvenile concerns and issues in the community. We also provide the parents with various juvenile resource programs within our community. 3. We met with the Sylmar Juvenile Court District Attorney regarding the investigation and filing of criminal charges against juvenile offenders. 4. We met with Captain Pat Davoren throughout the month in order to keep him up to date regarding our unit's investigations and current juvenile issues within our city. 5. We entered juveniles into the Juvenile Automated ndex system for various violations. 6. We made court appearances to testify as witnesses on the part of the People of the State of California and attended court proceedings in cases generated from the City of Westlake Village. We also investigated, prepared, and filed cases with the District Attorney's office. We additionally assisted other investigators in the preparation of cases for court. 7. We met with station narcotics detectives on a regular basis to exchange information regarding juvenile and drug related issues. We have worked with the narcotic detectives on several narcotic cases directly and indirectly involving juveniles.

We handled the processing and follow-up of various juvenile referrals brought to the attention of this unit (i.e., Juvenile nformation Forms, Field nterview Cards, Juvenile Automated ndex, and citations for various juvenile contacts with uniform personnel). 9. We conducted our normal checks of juvenile problem areas in the city during weekend evenings and responded to juvenile related calls for service. 1. We updated the Gang Book and briefed the captain on criminal activity trends. 11. We investigated 3 allegation of child abuse. 12. We registered 5 sex offenders. 13. We conducted 3 home checks of sex registrants. 14. We presented a Cyber Safety Talk at Westlake City Hall for Boys Teen Charity.

The list included the skate park, traffic issues in Three Springs, the construction area around Lakeview and Agoura, and extra patrols in the First Neighborhood. 2. Met with Westlake VOP team and go over safety issues. nterview a new potential member. 3. Spoke to citizens via phone and in the station lobby regarding community and crime prevention related issues or questions, i.e., frequency of crimes, statistical information, etc. 4. Reviewed, conditioned, approved and ed several DRC, TUP, and ABC routing sheets. 5. met with city staff about The Westlake City Celebration. 6. met with the manager of Target and discussed crime prevention. 7. attended two Westlake HOA meetings and spoke with residence about crime prevention. 8. worked the Blue Sun Music Festival and assisted as needed. 9. Maintained the volunteer program by reviewing new applications, conducting background checks, performing live-scan fingerprints, interviewing applicants, training, and recruiting. 1.Attended the "Friends of the Arson Watch & Disaster Services (FAWDS)" meeting. 11. Attend Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Foundation board meeting conducted numerous patrol checks of locations in the city that are requiring a little extra attention such as the parks, construction areas etc met with the manager of the Westlake nn to discuss noise issues as well as their monthly car show.
