2 Your Invitation to Participate Dear Taekwondo practitioner, It gives us great pleasure to invite Australian Taekwondo practitioners to participate in the seventh Adelaide Open. Every year we aim to make this event bigger and better to encourage and develop new athletes. We are holding the competition over 2 days at the Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre and opening the competition to other Sporting Associations. This event will give athletes of all levels the opportunity to participate, gain valuable competition experience and enjoy a fun-filled day. We aim to foster the development of future Taekwondo Champions and Olympians, from grass roots to seasoned athletes. Family and friends are also very welcome to watch and support! Black Belt divisions modified rules on the day. A head kick, intentional or through lack of caution, will be treated as attacking the head with the fist or the hand. The appropriate penalties of Gamjeom (deduction point), or disqualification will apply.

4 Insurance: Awards: Uniforms: Safety Equipment: Weigh in: Coaches: All competitors must show a copy of their Australian Taekwondo membership card on signing in on the day of the competition. (or proof of insurance if not insured with AT) All divisions will be awarded First, Second and Third placings with Gold, Silver and 2 Bronze medals, the latter subject to the number of contestants in the respective division. Australian Taekwondo badge on the left sleeve is compulsory for all AT competitors. White Dobok as per WT Regulations Sparring competitors must wear WT approved (full colour) trunk protector, groin (females optional), shin, arm, and head guards (matching colour or white) and gloves. Foot-gloves (matching the style of approved hand gloves) are accepted. Mouthguards are compulsory and must be white or clear. To be advised All coaches must have OTU/AT or equivalent Coach Accreditation. All coaches will be required to present their current AT Coaching Accreditation card. We ask that your club/state provide sufficient coaches to avoid the possibility of players being disqualified due to unavailability of a coach when the player is called. Please note that, under WT rules, a maximum of three (3) calls to the field of play will be given. Players not in attendance with their coach will be disqualified. Knowledge of current 2018 WT rules and regulations. Must register online and must attend coaches brief before competition commences. Image Recording: By entering to compete or officiate at this Event, you are agreeing to have your image taken while in the venue by its official representatives, the media and the members of the public. In addition, you are agreeing to have your image shown on UTC social media, website, video, enews and other form of publication. Liability: All participants in the tournament take part at their own risk. While all care is taken, the organizers and their representatives can take no responsibility, under any circumstances, for any damages, injuries or loss to individuals or equipment.
