Grand Rapids Boat Show February 18-22, 2015 The theme for this year s show was Century boats. The show had 11 boats on display. Nine Centurys were shown ranging from 1941 to 1985; wood and classic glass. The two additional boats were: Dream Baby, an 8 Mini Max, built by Phil Engelsman as an idea for youth boat building for older youth, the second, a 1968 Mastercraft, Hull Number One, designed and built purposely for towing water skiers, the first of its kind. 5

Grand Rapids Boat Show Youth Boat Building In 2015 five boats were constructed by the youth boat building and their families with assistance from members of the WWC. The boats were then taken home to be complete. As part of the project the builders brought their completed boats to Boats on the Boardwalk in August. (Pictures on page 11.) 6

Non Power Rendezvous May 16, 2015 Twenty eight people attended with 17 canoes/kayaks. It was a beautiful 70 degree sunny day...perfect for the event. President, William Dreyer and son, Liam caught a trout, Peter Cross brought his toddler grandson. Mike Teusink brought his family. These were a few of the group. 7

Torch, Skegemog, Elk Lakes Rendezvous I July 9, 2015 After a two day delay, the weather turned out to be nearly perfect on Thursday, July 9th. Eight boats and 21 people enjoyed the day. It started on Torch Lake with "glass" water as we went south from Dewitt Marina on the Clam River. As we passed through the beautiful Torch River we received several positive comments from those along the river bank. Then a visit to an eagles nest on Skegemog Lake. We cruised north on Elk Lake to our lunch destination. After lunch, a short loop through the Elk Rapids harbor the boaters headed back to their home ports. A "good time was had by all" was the unanimous opinion of the cruise participants. Contributed by Dennis Hansen 8

Torch, Skegemog, Elk Lakes Rendezvous II September 15, 2015 It was a nearly PERFECT on September 15 for a cruise, low 80 s and sunny. Starting at Dewitt Marine, Russ Arrand in Blue By U, with friends, Jim Kenyon, Lew Kirchner and Ken Winkelman. Dennis and Barb Hansen with Red Cedar left DeWitt Marine and traveled on the Clam River to Torch Lake. On the way down Torch Lake near the Sandbar we picked up Stu and Peggy Nunneley in Nimrod II who came up from their home on Elk Lake along with riders, Hal and Gwen Muenchow. We continued south in the Torch River through Skegemog Lake. Continuing into Elk Lake and north to the Riverwalk Grill and Taproom in Elk Rapids for lunch that everyone agreed was delightful. After lunch we continued our cruising until we had to call it a day and head for our home ports. We hope that more members and friends will be able to participate next year. President, William Dreyer II, gave a brief statement listing the activities and accomplishments of the Chapter throughout the year. Minutes of the last Annual meeting and year end Treasures report were presented by Ned Edwards and Deb Parker. The gravel was transferred to Mike Green, the 2016 President. Mike spoke about his goals for the Chapter during the coming year. The winners from the annual silent auction were announced and goodbyes were said.
