Craig Foster Building We are very pleased that the building is now being used by our students. It has provided them with excellent facilities. The 4G pitch is also now being utilised at break/lunchtimes as well as during PE lessons. Picking Up/Dropping Off Students We have an accident waiting to happen at Perrymans Farm Road, as parents are carrying out 3-point turns in front of the school entrance. Please drop off/pick up your child further down the road to avoid the potential dangers that could occur immediately outside the school gates. S Wilks Headteacher U/13 Girls Football vs. Loxford The U/13 girls football team took on their second fixture of the season on Tuesday against Loxford, the Oaks Park team showed great structure and passing from the first whistle and Roxie Smart quickly opened the scoring with a powerful shot. The whole team played incredibly well, holding the ball up and instantly retrieving the ball when we lost possession, Roxie Smart hit the target on seven more occasions over the course of the game to finish with a final score of 8-0. Unsurprisingly, Roxie was awarded player of the match. The girls next match is against Mayfield in March. Thurs 21 Jan Apprentice Fair. 2 CAREERS FAIR Hello folks, it s been a long time, but we are back with a burst! We are happy to announce that due to popular demand the third annual Careers Fair will be on Thursday 21 st January. This is for Year 10s all the way to Year 13s, so why don t you pop in and see if you can find the perfect career for you. There will be a large variety of top companies and colleges as well as the civil service and armed forces. It s been a hit for the last two years and this one promises to be even better. We hope that you all find the advice and guidance that you will need in these crucial years. Come down ask questions and most importantly have fun researching future job prospects. 3 Kappa Head Girls Congratulations to Prasha Maniccadevan and Harpreet Kabotra, both in 11R, who were selected to be Kappa Head Girls at the end of last term. Both girls have been exceptional role models for Kappa over the years and handed in excellent application forms. 5 HOUSE CHESS TOURNAMENT House Chess starts on Monday 11th January. Qualifiers will be held in A31 Monday to Thursday lunchtime for the next 3 weeks after which there will be 2 weeks of knockout matches to find out who will be this year s Chess Champion as well as which House reigns supreme. So whether you are a serious chess player or would rather just play for fun, TURN UP because your House gets points for you participating! ALSO AS ALWAYS TEACHERS ARE PERMITTED TO TAKE PART.
