The venue will be Peter Snell Youth Village, Whangaparaoa. The camp has been booked for 23 rd 27 th November 2015 (Term 4). A separate newsletter will be sent home soon to the parents of children who will be in Yr 5 & 6 in 2015 to outline further details of the camp. A meeting will be held on Monday 1st September at 6:30pm in the school library to establish a fundraising committee in order to raise the funds required. Bream Bay Cross Country Thank you to everyone who attended the Bream Bay Inter School Cross Country held yesterday. Our children ran exceptionally well given the wet and muddy conditions. Thanks to the following people: Our PTA for organising and selling hot soup for the children. Maungaturoto Motorcycles for providing a Polaris bike for setting out the course. Parent helpers on the day setting up equipment, helping out on the course Well done to Mrs Cave and Mrs Mac for organising the event. We have had many positive comments regarding how successful the event was. School Speech Contest Please note that our school speech competition (Year 4 6 students who qualify from their class speech contest) will be held next Wednesday 3 rd September starting at 1pm. The event will be held in the Multipurpose Room. The child with overall winning speech will be given the opportunity to perform their speech at both Parents Day and Grandparents Day (last week of Term 3). Special Assembly for Brenda Ratima We will be having a special farewell assembly for Brenda Ratima on Friday 12 th September starting at 1:30pm. We invite parents to attend this assembly in recognition of her work over the past 6 years. This will be her last day of work at Maungaturoto Primary L Waiho i te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa - Let us keep close together, not wide apart. For the Children, Shane Campbell
2 Stationery Please see that your children are fully equipped with stationery. At this time of year, many pens/pencils and books are well used or (lost). Teachers are having to provide, particularly pens, each day too many students just so they can participate in their work for the day. All stationery needs can be purchased from the school office. Gala Day Thank you to those who have offered to bake for "Decorate a Cup Cake Stall" - we have enough help with baking cup cakes but are in need of someone willing to raise seedlings for our plant seedling stall. Pots, seeds and potting mix will be supplied.
