Competition Calendar 11 th -12 th July 2015 NSW Metro SC Championships 23 rd August CASC 12 and under SC Carnival 29 th -31 st 2015 NSW State Age SC Championships August 11 th -12 th Sept 2015 State Open SC Championships From The Editor Well here we are- well and truly into the short course season, gearing up for NSW Metro s, our Under 12 s Carnival and NSW State Age SC Championships at the end of August. Since the last newsletter we have had our Winter Short Course Carnival which ran really smoothly thanks to everyone who pitched and helped on the day and in the lead up to it. Then last weekend our swimmers swam brilliantly at The MSW Championships, with pbs, medals and records galore. Congratulations to everyone who took part and a big thank you to our coaches who were there to support our swimmers over the weekend. Campbelltown ASC Newsletter Page - 1

2 With being at SOPAC so early on Saturday morning, I asked Liam Salmond and Aidan Ferderer to hand out the Technical Official parking passes. Kathy Thompson told me on Sunday morning that numerous Technical Officials had commented to her how helpful, happy and polite both boys were. They also looked great in their CASC National Uniform. Thank you Liam and Aidan. Time Keeping Accreditation. If anyone is interested in gaining their Technical Official Accreditation - Time Keeping, Check Starting, Marshalling. Please see either Ty Bernard or Stuart Ferderer. Becoming a Club Technical Official - you are required to become a Financial Club member ( non swimmer ). Skins Night Don t forget Skins Night is next Friday- swimmers please put your names down at the card table so that we can put you into teams. 3 Club Captains Report What a fantastic weekend we had at the Metro South West carnival at SOPAC. I cannot begin to count how many medals and ribbons were won without missing anybody. Everybody who swam deserves to be congratulated on their outstanding efforts in the pool. There were many new pbs, swum which is a great start to this winter season. bring your meat, bread rolls, etc. There are some BBQs on site we can use (I think they re gas), but are subject to availability. Make sure you bring along plenty of water, a change of clothes in case they get dirty or wet etc., and comfortable enclosed shoes (preferably runners). Also, a final reminder to those who haven t paid yet, please return the money to me as soon as possible. Please remember to bring your signed indemnity form with you on the day to save time. It is estimated the climb will take around 2-3 hrs to complete. Parents can walk some of the course and take photos from below. Metro entries are due by the end of this month. Please check the qualifying times and talk with your coach before you enter to ensure you agree on your entries. Also state entries will be due not long afterwards, so keep an eye out for the due date so you don t miss it. Our Open Carnival Running a Carnival is a big task and takes lots of people helping in many ways to run it successfully. Thanks to all who helped organise, setup, packup and who did a job or made a donation on the day. All that help is greatly appreciated, it shows great club spirit and continues on the clubs tradition of holding successful Carnivals. Special thanks to the parents of our younger swimmers who assisted. Lots of thank you s some of the special ones are as follows. Special mention and thanks to our referees on the day Ty and Stuart, and our visiting referees Leo Repeti and Dennis Browning, without them we have no Carnival. Thanks to Lou who organised his first Carnival well done Lou. Rebecca and Sokka did a great job running the Carnival itself. To have folks like Trent, Jackie, Kaylie, Susan, Dennise, Aussie Phil, Jordon Cleary, Tyla and Katelyn come in to help despite now not swimming now or not having swimmers involved is special. Mark Cotton, Aussie Phil and Lucia did a great job on the BBQ and cooked a lovely lunch for our helpers. Finally thanks to those who donated for the raffle McNevin Family- Gift Basket Ilic Family- Centric Dental Views Gift Basket Cleary Family Meat Tray and to Lyn Robinson who ran the lucky numbers. We now look forward to our 12 and Under Carnival in August - a great Carnival for our young swimmers! Presentation Night I hope you all enjoyed the night. With smaller numbers we were able to us the top hall at Menangle house, and while it was cosy it was much warmer. Jenny and Carly are to be congratulated on organising the entire evening from the venue to the trophies, well done ladies on a job very well done. Also thanks to Stuart for organising the mikes and projector, Arthur and Alex and Sheree for the Power point presentation and Paul Willes for the lighting. It is always a team effort!
