2 FROM ST. LUKE S SENIOR PASTOR I am so very excited you chose to join us as we bring the story of Little Orphan Annie to life! The arts and theatre have been such an important part of who we are at St. Luke s for so many decades. The theatre has a way of sharing stories with us that are so deeply moving; they touch on our most basic human emotions and needs. The theatre helps us grow by challenging us to try new things and step out of our comfort zone. And the theatre helps us serve our community by creating an outlet for artists and eager theatre patrons to support the arts right here in Oklahoma City! We find that we are able to be inspired by the beauty of arts and we can grow closer to God through them. In the theatre, as in the church, we find there is a place for all of us to belong, just like little orphan Annie. We hope you enjoy the show! Dr. Bob Long WELCOME TO ST. LUKE S CINDY POTEET LITTLE THEATRE! FROM THE DIRECTOR Ever since Annie made her debut in the comic strip in 1924, the story of Little Orphan Annie has captured our hearts for generations! The popularity of the beloved comic strip led to the creation of a radio show with the same name in Annie the character became a radio staple for kids and adults during some of our country s most trying times, bringing joy and light throughout the Great Depression. Annie s message is one of faith, whether conveyed through comic book, radio show, or Broadway musical. It serves as a reminder to each of us, that even in the darkest times, there is and always will be light. The experience level of the cast sharing this beautiful story with you ranges from professional actors to first-timers. Some come to this stage having experienced unimaginable pain and loss; moving through personal trials to stand in front of you today to shine their light, not unlike Annie herself. They come to share their talents and presence with courageous hearts. It is my hope you experience more than song and dance today; that you bear witness to the triumph of spirit shining through the most broken places in unlikely and surprising ways. May this story, and those telling it, serve as an instrument of hope and a reminder of the breaking dawn. Thank you for choosing to support Annie with your presence, attention, open mind and open heart. We appreciate you and hope you enjoy the show! Haley Jane Pierce
