LOUIS ====================================== PRESIDENT S POINTS Another month has flown by as we quickly close out our 3 rd year. The club continues to grow each and every month. We picked several more members last month and I d like to welcome them to our family, Nolan & Gina Blake from Fairview Heights, Illinois Michael & Kristina Finn from Arnold, MO Kevin & Karen Finn from Fenton, MO Debbie Grosz from Ellisville, MO Eric Kerperien & Dawn Tribble from Cedar Hill, MO Danielle & Jake Sheahan of Highland, Illinois, Marvin & Teri Kropp from Florissant and Chase Ufkes Welcome to the club!!!! The month of October was very busy for the club with all of the different events we had planned. It all started with a breakfast cruise to Kate s lake house in Ste. Gen on Oct. 3 rd. We have an excellent turnout for the cruise and subsequent trip to the Crown Valley Brewhouse and Chaumette Winery. The weather was perfect for both events. On Oct. 3 rd several of our members were invited to attend the Best of the Best Car Show in Brighton, Illinois. Jim Griffin, Danny Nelson, Charlie & Linda Nahlik and Rich Johnston & Jennifer Wolfe all attended the show. They were given some very nice attendance plaques as in years past. The next event was something new with our 1 st ever Poker Run. Activities Director, Kate Pepin planned an excellent route with 6 stops. We had members from the C3 S h a r k s C o r v e t t e C l u b participate in the Poker Run also. We hope to plan a couple more Poker Runs in The last event of October was the Halloween Cruise to Bonne Terre, MO on the 30 th. Club members, John and Stephanie Owings graciously invited the club to their home for a precruise feast. There were about 35 club members participate in the cruise. There were several different Halloween themes going on at the Dairy Queen along with some very interesting car decorations. All in all the entire month of October was a lot of fun for everyone who participated. For the month of November there are a couple of events planned starting with a BBQ for the veterans at the VA Hospital in Jefferson Barracks on the 13 th. We will be doing this event like last year in conjunction with a few Shriners. We will need about 12 members to help cook, organize the setup, prepare the plates and deliver them to the veterans that can t make it outside, weather permitting. On Sunday the 14 th we ll be making a cruise up to Brussells, Illinois to the Wittmond Hotel for an all you can eat chicken dinner. We ll take the Golden Eagle Ferry across the river to the hotel. Check the website and your s for additional info for the cruise. As we move forward into 2011 we ll be planning out the entire years meeting locations and several new events. We ll also be finalizing the plans for our next car show that will be held next June. There will be plenty of different things for everybody to do so get involved and come along for the ride. We do have a block of rooms reserved at the host hotel for the MCA show in Des Moines, Iowa on August 12 th -14 th. Contact Mike Herbert to reserve your room. Also, if you are going please send in your registration application ASAP. From what I hear they are limited to 375 entries. It s at Jilly s Steakhouse and Café in High Ridge just off Little Brennan Road and Highway 30 and starts at 7:00pm. 3 Page 3 BREAKFAST & WINERY CRUISE-ST. GENEVIEVE, MO October 3, 2010 What a gorgeous day for a cruise, a bit chilly perhaps (ok it was freezing) but still what a great fall day to cruise to St Genevieve to Kate's beautiful lake house for a scrumptious breakfast. Once again the line of cars were met by the volunteer fire department and escorted to member, Kate Pepin s, home. After everyone finished eating, cleanup began, with all the help we had that done in no time. We then headed to Chaumette Brew House (their root beer is very good), after looking around and sampling their brews we went onto their winery where we ate lunch, drank wine, sat out on the patio enjoying the scenery and each other's company. The day included a visit to Crown Valley Brew House and Lunch and Leisure at Chaumette Winery.

4 Page 4 THE BEST OF THE BEST SHOWOCTOBER 10, 2010 Four members Danny Nelson with his 07 convertible, Jim Griffin with his 65 T5, Rich & Jennifer with their 05 convertible and Charlie & Linda in their 66 coupe made the trip to Brighton Illinois to Schneider Park on Oct 10th for the 2010 Best of the Best voted by everyone...this was the second year for the Nahliks 66 coupe and for Danny's 07 convertible. Maybe we'll have 6 cars make make it to the 2011 show CLUB MERCHANDISE-NEED SOMETHING WARM? By Jane Townsend-Merchandise Chairperson If the ride in your pony has been a little chilly lately, you need to get some warm duds. It s the time of the year when I m taking orders for long sleeve tee shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. I also showcased some new, more fashion oriented items at the October meeting. Thanks for a great response on those items! You ll be seeing club members wearing them soon. One of those items was a long sleeve tee shirt with white stitching accents down the sleeves and around the neck, and in the new moisture wicking fabric. That was popular so I will be bringing some extra ones to sell at the next meeting. If you would like to get any of the following items, please let me know ASAP. I special order these. They will have the club logo screenprinted on the left chest and the back: Long sleeve tee shirt $14 Crewneck sweatshirt $22 Pullover hoodie Zip front hoodie $27 Mock turtleneck $16.50 $30 (Add $2 for sizes 2X & 3X on all items.) The club jacket is also available and looks great! It s a nylon shell with a fleece lining. Sleeves are adjustable at the cuff with velcro and elastic. There are three pockets two on the front outside and one on the inside and they ALL zip closed, a nice feature in a jacket for this price. The bottom has elastic all the way around, so when the jacket is zipped the bottom hugs your body, keeping out the wind. Last but not least, it s machine washable! The jacket sells for $ The embroidery is priced separately and there are three choices: the large logo on the back is $60.00 the small logo on the front left chest is $10.00, and your name on the front right chest is $5.00. It s up to you what you want on your jacket. You can have one, two, or all three choices depending on your preferences and your budget. If you have other ideas about what you want embroidered on it, let me know and I can quote you a price. Remember, any of our club merchandise can be personalized to reflect your personality and your Pony. If you go with the large logo on the back, there won t be any mistaking you re a Mustang lover when you ride off into the sunset! If there is something you want, please ask me I can probably get it for you. If you want to get a gift for someone, the time is now to place your holiday orders! I m a certified Santa s helper and have taken the secrecy oath call or me! And remember, 15% of every purchase goes to the Club!

5 Page 5 MUSTANG CLUB OF ST. LOUIS 1st POKER RUN October 15, 2010 MCSTL members were excited to participate in our first Poker Run planned by Kate Pepin. The road course began at the Schnucks in Des Peres and each member purchased as many cards or hands as they wanted. At each of the 6 stops, each member drew a card for each of their hands to try to complete the best poker hand. The drive was beautiful and it was great fun to eat and visit along the way with other members and other clubs that had been invited. The day ended at Big Chief Restaurant with an award of $250 to the winning hand. Bill and Robin Coerver summed up the day best when they said Had an awesome time at the poker run, it was fantastic. Can t stop talking about it with family & friends. Great, great, great job on coordinating this event. The route was beautiful and amazing. It was truly a great time and those that missed it really missed a great event.

6 Page 6 DINNER AT OWINGS & DQ HALLOWEEN CRUISE Bonne Terre, MO October 30, 2010 SCARIEST COUPLE Bob & Joyce Morgan On Saturday October 30th, 2010 our club made a trip down to Bonne Terre, MO for a Halloween Cruise to club members John and Stephanie Owings Dairy Queen restaurant. Before the actual cruise took place, John and Stephanie invited the club to their home for a precruise feast. We were treated to pulled pork, chili, hotdogs, cheese dip, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, gooey butter cakes and plenty of Halloween themed cupcakes. Everyone sure got their fill of all the great food and beverages before heading outside to decorate their cars and themselves. Around 6pm we all headed up to the Dairy Queen for the cruise in where we gave out candy to the BEST FEMALE COSTUME Dorothy Hepler trick or treaters and got ready for some friendly competition amongst our members. Awards were handed out for Best Decorated Car, Scariest Couple, Best Male and Female Costume, Most Original Costume and Manager s Choice. The winners were as follows Pictures of the evenings events are on the website now for your enjoyment. Thanks to Dorothy Hepler, Kate Pepin, Linda Nahlik and Brenda Herbert for taking all of the pictures. And last but not least a BIG thanks to John and Stephanie for hosting the club at their home and place of business. We really appreciate your hospitality. We had Sonny & Cher (aka & Joyce Morgan), Mustard and a Hot Dog (aka Bill and Robin Coerver), Ghostbuster with the ghost he captured (aka Patrick & Quade), Raggety Ann and Andy (aka Tim & Dorothy Hepler) Pat and Cathy Kurtz dressed their beautiful 05 black gt as a black cat (with green eyes, ears and tail), many of our members' cars seemed to be possessed. What fun, we had a great turn out and a good time. Everyone is looking forward to doing this again next year.

The ride only takes about a minute to get to the other side, but it may take us a while to all get on the ferry as it transports about 15 cars per trip.
