3 Cub Scouts Pack 120: Popcorn Sales Popcorn sales have begun! Our goal is for each Scout to sell $100 of popcorn. Scouts can win prizes for selling a minimum of $25 door-to-door, and an Amazon gift card for selling a minimum of $100 online. Scouts who want to sell online will need the following information to set up an account - Council: Last Frontier, District: Baden-Powell, Pack: 3120 If you still need a popcorn packet, you can get one from Marye Cory (maryecory@yahoo.com). A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Jenny Richard. She is one of three finalists for Archdiocesan Educator of the Year. Each year teachers around the diocese are nominated by their school for being recognized as an outstanding educator in their field. As many of you know, Mrs. Jenny Richard is a CK pre-school teacher who is currently working on her doctorate. She teaches in the part time 4-year-old program and has touched the lives of so many of the students who walk the halls at Christ the King School. Jenny also has been instrumental in making our school a Green School so that we as a community can answer God s call in being stewards of our Earth. She is a true treasure and we are so proud of her. On Friday, September 21 st at our Annual Archdiocesan In-Service it will be announced who is the Outstanding Educator of the Year for our Archdiocese. All of the outstanding Christ the King School teachers will be there to support Jenny when the announcement is made. She is definitely deserving of this recognition. CONGRATULATIONS JENNY RICHARD!

Race results can be viewed at this link: (click on CK Run) Mrs. Kouri s 1 st grade class won a Chick Fil-A Party for the most participation in grades PK-5, and St. Padre Pio won the House Points for greatest participation in Jr. High. We loved seeing so many students out there supporting our CK community! Tuesday 9/18 will be a CK RUN Spirit Shirt Day, so remember to wear your shirts. Still need a T-SHIRT? We will placing another shirt order in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more details.

6 Christ the King Parish is participating in the Rosary Coast to Coast, and we want you there! Everyone s participation is needed! Students are encouraged to sign up for the living patriotic rosary, which means each Hail Mary will be for a specific state and all who reside in it. Fiftyparticipantsare needed to lead one Hail Mary each and hold the flag for that state. If they have a particular state they would like to represent, they are encouraged to sign up early and let us know which state! They will then be given a picture to color of the flag for that state and bring it with them to the rosary. They will hold up that flag as we pray the Hail Mary. Students may sign up with their teachers. This is a wonderful way for us all to participate in this nationwide rosary! Catholic churches throughout the United States will all be praying with us at the same time! Please join us as we pray the rosary nationwide for our country! October 7th 3:00 p.m. *Junior High students who participate will receive a service hour. *A Jeans Day Pass will be handed out to each participant!

8 ATTENTION CK STUDENTS The yearbook staff is holding their annual cover art contest! Students from all grades are encouraged to enter. The winners will have their artwork used on either the front or back cover, or the Autograph pages of the CK yearbook. This year s yearbook theme is Nostalgia. Think twinkle lights, polaroid photos, photo strips, pennant banners, chalkboards, and hand lettering. Our Yearbook Title is We Own the Knight The rules for entries are as follows: Entries must be done on white, letter sized paper Drawings must be portrait oriented (up and down) not landscape oriented (side to side) Drawings must be done in color using paint, marker, ink, or colored pencils Entries should feature the following words: * We Own the Knight * Christ the King Catholic School * Please write your name, grade, and teacher on the BACK of your artwork in PENCIL All Entries must be submitted to Mrs. Cheek by Sept. 28.
