2 FROM THE PRESIDENT: Dear Fox Friends, I pray you are all weathering the storm of colds and flu that seems to be sidelining so many people. I hope you don t experience either of these two problems. From personal experience, you don t even feel like stitching when you are so sick. If you have been impacted I hope you will soon be better and up to finding a new project to focus on in this exciting New Year. Just a few things from a National ANG perspective I would like to share with you. First, if you have not been on the new website please taking the time to go on line and make sure your personal profile information is current. The membership information has just recently been updated and Bonnie Daichendt, our Vice President of Membership, will soon be going on line to make sure all members of Fox are accurately listed. If Fox is your primary chapter please make sure it is accurately reflected. Also, I was just informed a few days ago that ANG Dues reminders will be coming to you electronically so keep an eye out for an notification if your national dues are about to expire. For those of you who do not have an address in the database you will still be contacted by USPS mail. Don t forget too, your Fox dues need to be paid by the end of March. With February upon us, March will be here before you know it! I would like to encourage all of you to consider making a donation to The Golden Needle Society. The Golden Needle Society has been established to keep ANG vital and growing into the future. The goal is to add $500,000 to the Endowment Fund by Any and all donations are appreciated and will help ensure the organization and craft we love so much will be available for future generations. More information is available on the ANG website under the heading Support ANG. Last but certainly not least, our chapter is in need of filling some upcoming vacancies in our Board. Bonnie Daichendt will be moving to Florida and will relinquish her responsibilities as VP of Membership/Publicity at the end of February. Also, Dawn Schlarb will be retiring as our Sunshine person. We thank each of these friends for the service they have given to the guild and how they have enhanced the organization through their efforts. Please let me know if you are interested in serving the guild in either of these capacities. That is it from me; please take the time to ready through the Newsletter carefully. 3 Memo From Missy: Hello Everyone! Can hardly believe that spring is just around the corner. Well it is somewhere! Movie night was a hit, I actually was able to get the DVD to work. And from what I ve heard people really enjoyed the DVD, Barely There from Amy Bunger. Please remember that if you are doing the 2 x2 squares of canvas using the different stitches from Amy s Cookbook series, which you received as a gift, you need to either mark the page number or the name of the stitch to show Laura Taylor. Also, the last time you can have these checked by Laura to qualify for a charm with be at the March meeting. After that will be too late. In February we will be doing the Marnie Ritter heart, Have a Heart led by Jan Hyser. You will need 8 x 8 stretcher bars for this heart. Canvas and threads are included. And then in March we will be doing Spring Banner from Nancy Cucci led by Eva Rill. The following is the supply list for the banner. 4 2018 is here, and it is time to sign up for the first two Fox Chapter workshops that are scheduled. Signups have started for Jennifer Riefenberg and Diane Herrmann. Please read the descriptions of each of these classes which will both be taught in Washington D.C. at the ANG seminar this August. Teachers are given permission to teach their original piece(s) once before the seminar, and we have the opportunity to pilot two projects this year. The price for each workshop is very reasonable as the teaching fee has been waived by each designer. As pilot stitchers, we will be responsible for working out the kinks and getting the instructions ready for these teachers to present their classes in August. I will be sending out information in March about lunches which will be available each day and the balance that is due for each workshop. The deadline to sign up for Up, Up and Away is March 13, Please let me know if you have any questions regarding these first two workshops.
