7 Todd Martin Clinic The reining clinic was a huge success. All that attended both auditors and clinic participants who rode in the clinic were extremely pleased with Todd. Jeannie who was visiting from the Yukon who rode with Todd on Friday. I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped at Ralph s place and with the running of the clinic. I also want to thank Ralph for donating his arena and Stan Dicks for looking after Todd s Accom. I could not have done it without all their great help, thank you. Todd has agreed to come back and will be planning another clinic. Todd was here for 5 days and got to see a blast of winter before heading back to Texas where it s reported to have been in the 80 s. We had Todd layered up and had a skid load of hot hand/foot warmers on hand for him. There was a ton of food for everyone that attended. The people who rode in the clinic were CBWR members Kathleen Hains, Jen MacNeil, Deborah Zwicker, Jourdan MacNeil. Madison Levatte, Karen Hatcher, Trudi MacPherson, Lee Anne Reeves, Emma Simpson, Tessa, Hailey, Brenna and Stan Dicks. Sheena Dunham flew in from Winnipeg to attend the clinic as well. We also had a guest rider

8 He s one good-looking horse there!! Another sorrowful Loss : Finally Joan Did it!! : Long time Gate Person and friend to all who had the luck to know him David A. Wilkie died April 1 st, Dave worked the gate at all C.B.W.R. Shows & also C. B. Exhibitions for years helping clear away people from in front of in coming riders for their classes. Dave would amaze people that he talked to with his knowledge of current events. Dave also had a love of animals and kept a watchful eye on the kids around the horse shows seeing they weren t trampled. To Dave s family on behalf of C.B.W.R. Directors & club members our sincere Condolences and deep sorrow. Here s Joan Farrar and her new horse name is Reg. name Southern Chicken which she changed to JJ s Bucket list. She is hoping to spin some barrels with her new steed. I for one can t wait to see these to in action this summer at our shows. Watch out everyone!! 10 Thursday, March 26, 2009 will always be remembered by my family as the day Morgan's best friend "Century" was sent to run free of pain in Heaven. Century came to be part of our family over 4 yrs ago. It was an instant connection between a girl and her pony. A connection that you read about in books or you see in movies. We were honored to have witnessed such a bond in front of our very eyes. Morgan and Century had 4 wonderful years and many accomplishments together They won many high point titles. From pleasure classes to those burning' and turning' gymkhana runs. Gymkhana was a special love to them both and everyone who had the pleasure to witness them in one of these events could see that. In September 2008, Century took Morgan on their final equestrian event together. They competed in Team/Cattle penning at Creek view Farm in Amherst. This was Morgan's maiden voyage and Century didn't let her down. They cut those cattle together like old pros. Winning the Pro-Am division for the weekend. Morgan was so proud of her pony, and her pony was so proud of her. That was the last day Morgan rode Century. She came up lame that following week, never to recover. Century taught Morgan so many things in their 4 yrs together. Most important 'Trust and Loyalty' between horse and rider. RIP Century...You were one of a kind and will never be replaced...we will always love you for what you gave Morgan (Your heart and soul)

11 Century this wouldn't be taking place. It is with joy and sadness that we make this introduction to you. Had we not lost Introducing Morgan's new horse 'Jackie Eyed Rocket' aka Tess. Tess is a 7yr old reg. QH that is due to foal the first of June to 'Deer Run Badger Bar'. Tess has already tried her hooves in the Team Penning world and we look forward to her and Morgan learning more about the sport together. And of course Tess and Morgan are going to start gymkhana training. Tess took a shining to Morgan upon meeting her for the first time so they are off to a great start. I wish Morgan and Tess many happy years together. Century will be watching from above guided them along. Century always wanted the best for her girl :)

12 Important Before Showing!: The board of directors for CBWR strongly suggest that you have your horses vaccinated at least 1 month prior to the first show for the following: Influenza, Tetanus, Rhinopneumonitis, Rabies and Strangles. We will again be sharing the grounds with racehorses and many of us plan on traveling to other show grounds this year. Help keep your horse protected by vaccinating well in advance in case of reaction. For information on any of these vaccines please contact your Veterinarian and book your appointment soon, the first show will be here before you know it! F.Y.I.
