2 6. CHAPLAIN S REPORT 6.1. The Chaplain s report has been distributed and is attached Chappy Leanne thanked the DoNs for running the pancake brekkie fundraiser, and in particular Nathan Chappy Leanne has: Attended training on how to respond to people who are grieving Continued pastoral care with 19 referrals Continued filming for Chappy TV Visiting classrooms to lend a hand Held activities at lunchtime including dance parties Continued brekky club 6.4. Moved that a copy be accepted Janine will ask donations of bread for Brekky club as the people who were donating are not now. Moved by: LeanneT (by report) 7. UNIFORM SHOP 7.1. 3 8. TREASURER S REPORT 8.1. Reports submitted and attached; 8.2. Decrease of around $3k, largely due to catching up Mel has set up an application on Xero, the employees just need to take a photo and Mel can upload to Xero Tuckshop paperwork needs to done quicker banking needs to be done quicker, and bills have to be paid sooner Expenses the Treasurer read through the expenses for the month, Expenses as per report 8.6. We need to make sure that the cash needs to be banked faster, Rebekah raised issue about cash being unsecured. Moved by: Mel G 9. TUCKSHOP REPORT 9.1. Report submitted and attached May has made $1,000 so far 9.3. Tuckshop was open for 4.5 days for April Figures for April are: Total earnings: $1, Total expenses: $2, Total: ($600.53) 9.5. Reasons for Loss: 1 st week back is always slow Having to restock after the holidays Buying new items for the new term 2 menu Cross country The fridge seal went bad over the weekend and there was unfortunately a loss of stock and expense to fix the fridge. FATHERING PROJECT As per report submitted and attached dads confirmed for 25 May for the dad s meat up (bangers and beer) First outing at Suttons Beach in a few weeks time dads helped out for Pancake brekkie. Variation to school routine: Week 11 SEAT spinal injury awareness presentation 24 May Year 6 BRSHS excursion 29 May to 1 June year 5 and 6 Camp Week 11 Prep Nudgee Beach excursion Current numbers Year level curriculum overviews are on website. Have to report twice a year and give an A to E rating. Rhonda Martin, our Vice Principal, commented that some schools are just giving the rating, not a comment so that parents come to parenting teacher interviews. Will see what the school community want Third lagoon project, waiting on date when Kate Jones is available Make a Space is up and running in the library, kids on a roster depending on year level Report cards going home last Wednesday of this term Parent teacher interviews have been done and were successful Year 5/6 camp Maroon Dam, big, well-staffed and resourced facility, very safe, good food. The children have to wash the dishes! Since year 7s have left the 5 and 6 go together, and this makes it very cheap Pancake breakfast very successful, thank you to the DoNs NAPLAN last week for 3 and 5. 6 Long Service Leave 5 weeks Mrs Stiler, replaced with Mrs Kellmam Sick leave - Mrs Gilpin has two week sick leave, replaced by Mrs Mammone Mother s-day stall raised $4,010.50, they had a large donation of handmaid things Melissa s husband raised the Telstra Kids grant, Lachlan will apply P&C day 25 May voting opens vote for the best P&C closes July Astro turf on the netball courts, a parent has raised an issue regarding astro turf being very hot and burning students, we had a general discussion about this, astro turf is probably better than bitumen. 12. General business Kym wants to sell jelly on under 8s day and nachos on movie night. Usually under 8s day is a red day. Tracey advised that she is ok with that Abby raised Movie Night: We need to choose a movie - Ferdinand or Aliens Ate my Homework. Committee voted on Ferdinand Abby advised that the meals will be sold by the booking system again Dinner will be at 5 movie at 5.30 p.m. There was a discussion about whether this is too early for working parents, this is balanced with a later start being too late for preppies Lynda suggested we do a Nashville State School Cookbook vol 2 with waste free lunchbox ideas, Jacquie will do the design. We raised $5k last time. We use published authors cookbooks. Unanimous agreement to do this Lynda raised the goal of fundraising as a few people have asked if the playground is the still the focus for the year. We had thought the upgrade would be about $130k but we worked with Natureplay group and sandbag, Natureplay are about using the environment, so we are waiting to see what the P&C General Meeting May 2018 finalised Page 6 of 7

7 sports committee comes up with and waiting to look into re-purposing the existing playground. We need someone to come into look at how we can reuse the playground Term deposit we deposited $40k and raised $414 interest. Unanimous that we reinvest $40k again in a term deposit Sold about 90 sets of fruit bags outside Woolworths, raised about $1900. We could do with more bags to sell. There is no minimum order if we do not have the logo, extra $1 profit without the logo. Unanimous order another 200 bags without the order. The shopping bags are too expensive. We could look into boomerang bags. We could sell the fruit bags at movie days and look at selling outside Aldi, Coles Bracken Ridge, and IGA Madonna: Dunne and Dusted coffee is really busy at pick up and drop offs, we could look at talking to Wes about some sort of reciprocal agreement, some sort of percentage. Fundraising committee will approach dunne and dusted. We are also looking at Round Table coffee October Mel Kym is after lunchboxes, there are a lot in lost property, if Kym finds anything useful. General discussion about auction of lost property, gold coin donation Vanessa gave an update on active living and sport sub-committee. They have met and had some conversation, they are researching and will bring some informed ideas to the table. Need clarification about whether the playground comes under the active living and sport Einbunpin asking for donations now. They are not sure if Lou will do decorations. Fundraising committee will ask her. Fundraising committee looking for jamsetta Rebekah raised stop drop go issues. Speak to Jared.
