For the Love of the Library 2017 The library once again was the site of the Library Foundation s popular For the Love of the Library annual fundraiser held April 21. Longtime Foundation friends, Cathy and John Belcher served as Honorary Chairs for this year s event which raised more than $46,000 for the library. Foundation Events Committee chair Trish Strott, with co-chair Pam Buckenmaier, and Committee members Nancy Almgren, Amy Bartholomee, DeDe Duncan-White, Anna Greenberg, Barbara Maxwell, Elle Shanahan, Chuck Steadman and Amy Steindler, planned and carried out the event, which was the fourth year for the festive gathering. More than 200 friends of the library feasted, bid on five special auction items and donated $15,300 to purchase talking VOX books for the children s collections in each AACPL library. The Foundation thanks the volunteers, guests and all who participated in making For the Love of the Library 2017 a success!
