1 Rules of the dance competition Stalowa Wola Oriental & Indian Dance Festival "The Shades of the Orient" 7 April 2018 We would like to invite you to a dance competition. The competition enables the participants to prove their dance skills, to present their level on the stage and to be judged by a professional jury of the festival. 1. The organizer of the dance competition is the Municipal Culture Centre of Stalowa Wola and Stal Fiction Association. 2. Awards & prizes: in the belly dance competition: Special Awards for soloists: 30% discount on making a dance costume ordered at ducat for the 1 place winners, gifts for the 1, 2, 3 place winners founded by ducat Soloists: 1st place: cup, diploma, ' The Shades of the Orient' 2019 full pass ticket, full pass ticket for all workshops organized by Stal Fiction Association in 2018, cosmetic set, jewelry set, textile for a dance costume. 2nd place: diploma, medal, 20% discount on 'the Shades of the Orient' 2019 full pass ticket. 3 rd place: diploma, medal, 10% discount on 'the Shades of the Orient' 2019 full pass ticket. Groups and duets: 1st place: cup, diploma, 50% discount for ' The Shades of the Orient' 2019 full pass ticket, 50% discount for all workshops organized by Stal Fiction Association in 2018, cosmetic set, jewelry set, textile for a dance costume (for each member of the group/duet). 2 3. Conditions. 1. The competition starts on Saturday 7 April 2018 in the Municipal Culture Centre of Stalowa Wola (Miejski Dom Kultury). 2. 3 Groups and duets Indian classical dance with own choreography Groups and duets Indian classical dance with traditional choreography Groups and duets folklore Groups and duets Indian fusion Amateurs: dancers with less than two years of dance experience Semi professionals A : dancers with more than two years of dance experience and max. 4 years of stage experience Semi professionals B : dancers with more than four years of dance experience and more than 4 years of stage experience Professionals: dancers, who are dance teachers Age categoration: children (max.15 years old), adults ( years old), seniors (40+ years old). 3.We need at least 5 participants for every category. The Organizer reserves the right to compare the amateurs, semi professionals and professionals in one group in case of too few participants. 4. Soloist, group and duet can take part in any number of categories. 5. Music lenght: max. 2,5 min for soloists max. 3,5 min. for groups/duets 6. Jury: in the belly dance competition: SURAIYA IBRAHIM PATRYCJA MARZEC ROZALIA WALOCHA DANIEL OKRASA KINGA MALEC KALINA DUWADZIŃSKA DANIEL OKRASA 7. The judges will rate: 1. dance technique 2. choreography 3. artistic expression 4. musical interpretation and match of music to style of dance 5. costume and make up 6. contact with the audience 7. synchronization (for groups and duets)

4 judging on a scale of 1 to Registration ends on 10 March Every participant should pay the registration fee: Soloists: 40pln for the first category, 30pln for every extra category Groups and duets: 30 pln for the first category from each member of group/duet, 20pln for every extra category from each member of group/duet. Or Package: Package A ( 2 competition fees, 6 workshops, ticket for gala show): 400pln Package B ( 2 competition fees, 3 workshops, ticket for gala show): 220pln Mini package (1 competition fee, 1 workshop, ticket for gala show): 95pln 10. How to pay: You can pay the registration fee to the account of the Municipal Culture Centre of Stalowa Wola: Miejski Dom Kultury ul. 1 Sierpnia Stalowa Wola account number: The Organiser doesn't provide accomodation. 12. The costume should cover all intimate parts of a dancer's body. The lack of a proper costume could cause disqualification. 13. Living animals, fire and candles are not allowed. 14. Music to send: You can send music in any audio format (mp3, wav, etc.) by to odcienieorientu@gmail.com (in the mail title please write: Music for the competition - "Shades of the Orient". Music should be adequately prepared and shortened. In the content of the mail you should give: name, surname, name of duet/group, name of the category, music author's name, music album title. You should also write the password "BEFORE" or "AFTER" (your signal, if you want to start the music before or after taking the start position on the stage). You should send the music before 10 March 2018.

Required documents: - registration form (to be taken from the festival website and from - payment confirmation You can fill in the registration form and send it with a scanned/xerox copy of the payment confirmation by e- mail to odcienieorientu@gmail.com before 10 March In the mail subject you should write: REGISTRATION FORM - SHADES OF THE ORIENT. Final resolutions 1. With sending the registation form you accept the rules and the right of the Organizer to costless audio & video record of your performances and to use the recorded material to Organizer's own purposes. 2. Only the participants, who fulfill the afore-named condisions, can take part in the competition. 3. The order of appearance on the stage is determined by the Organiser. 3. Soloists and the protectors of groups/duets have duty to register the participant/s on the day of competition Lack of registration effects in disqualification. 4. There is a possibility of audio - video recording by the audience during the Competition and Open Stage only. The Organizer does not take responsibility for these recordings and their publishing. The recording during the Star Performances is cempletely forbidden.
