1 Mission Statement Our mission at GymQuest Royal Twisters is to enrich the lives of the children and their families through the sport of competitive cheerleading. Our goal everyday is to teach our athletes the value of: Commitment Hard Work Integrity Leadership Self Confidence Team Work Positive Attitude We develop well rounded athletes in a family oriented atmosphere. Each and every family is valued for their talents at GQRT. You will not get lost in the crowd or feel like just another member. You will, however, be part of the BEST All Star family in Illinois and will be truly One of a Kind. The directors and coaches expect a lot from the members of their teams, in order to make the program successful. Cheerleading is a very demanding sport; because of this a positive attitude is essential. We ask all athletics follow the rules set forth in this constitution to accomplish the goal set for each team. I understand and agree that: 1. It is imperative that GQRT athletes cooperate and respect all coaches and/or Gym Quest staff at all times. 2. If I am injured during practice I will make the coach aware of the injury. 3. If I am injured or sick I will need a doctors/nurses note to ab able to resume participation in gym activities. 4. I understand that I am only allowed three (3) excused absences throughout the competition season (Aug thru April). Examples of excused absences are as follows: Illness, death or serious illness in the family. Any absences need to be approved by the director or coach. After three (3) excused absences athletes will:

5 - Be sidelined from practices for one week. - If practice is missed two (2) weeks prior to competition the athlete will be removed from the competition and will be replaced for that competition at the expense of the original member. 5. Only three (3) unexcused absences will be allowed throughout the competition season (Aug thru April). Examples of unexcused absences are jobs, any extracurricular activities that do not apply to the athlete school curriculum, guests at home, babysitting, too much homework, lack of transportation to practice or anything else the director and coaches feel are unexcused absences. After three (3) unexcused absences, athletes will be dismissed from the program without any REFUNDS. 6. Attendance will be taken at every practice 7. Athletes must notify their coach when they are going to be tardy to practice, not attending practice, or need to depart practice early. If you fail to notify your coach will be considered an unexcused absence. 8. Please arrive to practice on time, if possible arrive ten (10) minutes early. 9. No drinking soda or eating right before/during practice, including athletes who are ill or injured and are not participating in practice. 10. No GUM CHEWING IS ALLOWED in the gym at practice, or while performing at competitions. 11. No cell phones are allowed in the practice area, warm up or awards ceremonies. 12. A positive attitude must be maintained at all times. The director or coach will warn an athlete or parent caught talking negativity about another athlete, team, staff or other programs. This can and will lead to removal of the athlete from the program with NO REFUND (this includes the parents). Members should promote good sportsmanship and squad spirit through positive reinforcement and constructive criticism. 13. Fingernails maybe no longer than the fingertips. 14. Coaches may call extra practices on short notices. All athletes are expected to be there, unless the coaches have been informed and approved the absence. 15. A current cell phone number and address must be on file at all times. By signing this constitution does not necessarily mean you agree with the rules: however, it does mean that you understand them and will abide by them. All rules are subject to change at the discretion of the director.

6 Dress Code - Proper shoes (cheerleading) are to be worn at practices at ALL TIMES. - No outside shoes are allowed on the mats! - Please have a BAG for cheerleading practice. In this bag you should have your cheer shoes, extra bows and hair ties, briefs, tape, etc - Shorts and short sleeves t-shirts (BLACK) should be worn at all practices. No jeans, jean shorts, spandex, or biker shorts are allowed. (Nike Pros are ok). - Shorts should be of an appropriate length. - Hair must be pulled back in a high pony tail with a bow. - No spaghetti strap shirts will be allowed at practice. - No jewelry of any kind will be allowed at practice. This goes for both males and females Competition Appearance and Rules - Competitions ARE NOT OPTIONAL! All athletes are EXPECTED to participate in EVERY COMPEITION. - Only injured athletes are excused from participating. - Athletes who miss a competition will be removed from the team unless reviewed and approved by the director. - ABSOLUSTELY NO JEWLERY is to be worn at performances. No earring studs and belly rings are allowed per safety violations. - No visible tattoos - You must have your cheer shoes with you to perform. - All athletes MUST be in GQRT wear at all times at competition. This includes to, at and from the venue. - Athletes are not to wear their uniform in public places (restaurants, parties, etc ). Necessary actions will be taken, if an athlete is seen doing anything inappropriate while in uniform. - At no time shall a skirt be worn over your pants, if you need to get dressed all venues have restrooms, please use them. - You may wear your GQRT jacket and spirit wear at anytime.

7 - After each performance, uniform should be checked for tears, pulled hems, stains, etc and repaired immediately. Uniforms should be kept in excellent condition! DO NOT DRY CLEAN OR DRY IN DRYER! Please let uniforms air dry! - Members shall not leave the performance of other squads or award ceremonies. Athletes are expected to encourage and support all other GQRT teams and be award ceremonies when possible. - If you are not competing, or have been dismissed from your team obligations for the rest of the day, you may wear your warm ups, a GQRT tee shirt, and tennis shoes. You are still representing GQRT, and must present yourself in such a way. - Parents realize that attendance t performance is a privilege, not a license to verbally assault others or be generally obnoxious. Enjoy the day and cheer our kids on with spirit! - Respect the decisions made by contest officials. - Be an exemplary role model, by positively supporting teams in every manor possible, including display of cheer signs and cheering itself. - Respect fans, coaches, directors and participants. - Most of all BE A FAN..NOT A FANATIC!!!!! Parents and Guardians It is important to let your athlete work through their problems on their own, whenever possible. If there is a situation in which you feel you need to become involved, please set up a meeting with the coaches. This will need to occur outside of practice and competition times. NO PROBLEM WILL BE DISCUSSED AT OR DURING PRACTICES OR COMPETIONS! During practices please follow these rules: - Only cheerleaders and GQRT staff are allowed in the practice area. - No one is allowed to yell onto the floor, or try to make contact from the viewing area. - The coaches reserve the right to close practice at ANY TIME for ANY REASON. In this event your Team Rep will remain at practices.

8 Good sportsmanship, polite manners, and a kind disposition are mandatory at all times. This program prides itself on setting high standards of behavior. Please help us to continue this endeavor! Reasons for Removal from Program - Smoking, drinking, and drugs! Athletes will be dismissed from the program immediately, no questions asked. - Missing mandatory practices such as choreography, as well as missing practices two weeks before a competition. - Missing a competition. - More than three unexcused absences during the competition season. - Repeated disrespect to coaches, staff or other members of GQRT of other gyms. (A parent meeting will be held prior to an athlete being removed from the program). - Not keep current on your finical obligation to the gym Things to Remember - A cheerleading squad is only as good at its weakest member. Each athlete must respect all of the other team members, coaches, staff and parents. - Remember to leave the gossip at the door! - Support all athletes! There is no I in TEAM!
