President s report A.K.A. Yay, Spring is officially here! We have been basking in some abnormally warm weather, and some of us (by that, I mean my beautiful wife, all I can do is sit in the passenger seat and mope) have even been able to take a couple of the pony's out for a little exercise! While most Canadians, especially the one's to the East of us, have not had the most the most ideal conditions for cruising unless it resembled something like a Jeep and had a lift kit and tracks. I've spotted everything from Ferrari's, Vette's and even the odd Lamborghini zipping around in the last few weeks. As Albertans were are used to the odd chinook and lower snow levels, but the temperatures are definitely higher than normal. Having in-laws that live in Ontario, it is nice to see the tables reversed for a change. Historically their weather is warmer than ours, and it gets pointed out every time we communicate! What drove the point home for me though was the 2 Canadian geese that showed up on our pond and the big black fly hanging around on my patio door on the very first day of Spring. As most of you are aware, for the third year in a row, we took the first place trophy in Competition Insurance's Club Challenge at the 49th Annual World Of Wheels! A MASSIVE effort put forward by all the volunteers to construct a very ambitious display, consisting of a scaled down version of a P51 Mustang seemingly coming out of the ground, with prop's and guns blazing! Coupled with a Merlin V-12 donated by the Nanton Air Museum along with some outstanding members cars, it was almost a nobrainer for the judges. While spectacular in every way, one cannot help to think about how we are ever going to top this one? The 50th anniversary of WOW will be next year, so this gives lots of time to come up with some earth shattering ideas to match the anticipated size of the event. Many thanks to all those involved! Now that Spring is here, look forward to our annual Spring-Fling. Troy, our Vice-President along with some directors have been hard at work planning and setting up the event. Details as well as tickets will be available very shortly. Be sure to procure your tickets, as this event usually sells out very soon. Planning continues for our hosting of the International Mustang Meet that is being held in While it still seems like a long way off, a very competent committee has been hard at work procuring a show, kegger, and banquet location as well as finding committed sponsors. Calgary is one of the most central locations of all the clubs located within the International, and we anticipate a record number of cars and people attending. This years International is being held in Missoula Montana and although it is still a few months away, it would be a good idea to make sure your all registered up, and passports up to date. Calgary has won the participation award for the last couple years, and it would be awesome to do so again! It's hard to believe almost a year has passed since our epic journey to Las Vegas, and Charlotte last April to attend the 50th Anniversary celebration. With the memories still so vivid and memorable, I can only hope that they will indeed hold a 55th and once again we can participate in the once in a lifetime event. Well maybe a once every 5 years in a lifetime event, but fantastic none the less. Be sure to clear your calendar in 2019! I believe by then Martin and Norm will once again forget the pains of taking an old car, and will choose to do so again. Looking forward to it boys! So while it is still a little chilly and the roads are still not quite ideal, remember that the first car show of the season is barely a month away. With the Nifty Fifty's club holding their Spring Thaw event at the Grey Eagle this year, now is the time to get out the garage and remove the cover, change the oil, and start her wake-up! I look forward to seeing you all out there, and cannot wait! I only hope I can shift by then! Cheers. Scott 3

Flawless MALE LOGIC: Critical thinking At Its Best! Woman: Do you drink beer? Man: Yes Woman: How many beers a day? Man: Usually about 3 Woman: How much do you pay per beer? Man: $5.00 which includes a tip (This is where it gets scary!) Woman: And how long have you been drinking? Man: About 20 years, I suppose Woman: So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450. In one year, it would be approximately $5400 correct? Man: Correct Woman: If in 1 year you spend $5400, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000, correct? Man: Correct Woman: Do you know that if you didn't drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari? Man: Do you drink beer? Woman: No Man: Where's your Ferrari? 5
IMM2016 CALGARY Did you know that our own AMAC will be hosting the 37th International Mustang Meet in September of 2016? Planning is already underway for this HUGE event. Our committee is currently scoping out a venue and we are already discussing sponsorship. Stay tuned everyone. This will be a very exciting time for AMAC! Comments, suggestions? us at IMM2016@shaw.ca Bay 5, th Street SE, Calgary (403) of toll free
This year s P-51 themed booth was a huge hit down at World of Wheels! When they said they wanted to build a 3/4 scale P-51, I thought to myself you guys are crazy, but I also knew that they would accomplish whatever they put their minds to, and they sure did! And they pulled out a first place win for the third year in a row! 7
This Rolls Royce Merlin engine was loaned to us by the Nanton Air Museum, so big thanks to them for their generosity. When the museum saw our booth on the news they came down from Nanton to have a look. They are going to take the plane our volunteers built and put it on display at the museum. VERY COOL! 8
KUDOS to Jim & Sharon and their huge team of volunteers. Special thanks to Rob & Gloria and Jim & Deb for providing the space for our WOW builds! 9

No one seems to know much about these Tiffany Mustang Pendants. (I know I would like to own one!) Seems like some folks received them when they bought their new 1964 Pony Car. Did you know that Tiffany & Co. recognized the Mustang in 1964 for Excellence in American Design One side of the medallion states Tiffany Award for Excellence in American Design and the other side says For the Ford Mustang Design approved by Tiffany & Co Some say it was a Ford publicity stunt, but no one is quite sure. Would be a lovely little trinket to have! Call Dan or justautoappraisals@telus.net 12
Did you know, that our favorite car has appeared in over 500 movies and TV shows since the 1960 s? Hollywood does like the Mustang, and they sure love to smash em up! Movies from top to bottom: Metro (1997) Fast & Furious 6 (2013) Death Race (2008) Gone in 60 Seconds (1973) 13

Ingredients Elbow Macaroni (4 cups) Salt (1 tsp). Pepper (2 tsp). Balderson Spreadable Cheddar Cheese (1/4 lb.) Balderson 2 Year aged White Cheddar graded (1 cup) Sharp Cheddar Cheese graded (2 cups) Parmesan Cheese graded (1 cup) Bacon (1/2 lb) Truffle Oil (1/2 tsp) Sour Cream (1 cup) Mustard Powder (1 tsp) Heavy Cream (1 1/2 cups) Optional Bread crumbs or Corn flake crumbs (2 cups) Continued on page 16 15
Preparation and cooking instructions; Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, add the macaroni until almost cooked, remember do not fully cook as the oven will complete the cooking. In a skillet cook the ½ lb of bacon until crisp, and crumble into small pieces. Drain the bacon grease reduce the heat and melt the Balderson Cream Cheese and 1 ½ cups of cream in the skillet, then add the ½ the grated Balderson Cheese and the Parmesan Cheese. Stir until mixed and melted, and then add the Sour Cream and Mustard Powder. Stir in the truffle oil (Be careful not to add too much as it will overpower the flavor of the dish) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Drain & rinse the almost cooked Macaroni & Onion and place in a casserole dish then pour the melted Cheese and stir the mixture. Evenly distribute the shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese over the entire top of the mixture. Now comes the part that finalizes the blockage of those arteries, sprinkle the Bread Crumbs evenly over the Cheese and slice the remaining butter into small pieces and place on top of the Bread Crumbs. Place the dish in the oven and cook for 45 minutes. This recipe was inspired by the 1965 Shelby Continued on page 17 16
Shelby Mustang was built in 1965 by Carol Shelby at his Shelby American plant in San Jose California. The 1965 Shelby arrived at the dealerships painted Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue rocker stripe. Approximately 28% of the Shelbys produced in 1965 arrived with the LeMans stripes at the dealerships, the dealers usually added the LeMans racing stripes. The Shelby Mustangs in 1965 were all GT 350s with K code 289 V8 power plants modified to 306 HP. There were 562 Shelby GT 350s built in
Apparently, in 1945/46 in Alberta, all you had to do in order to get a drivers licence was fill in this short form and pay $1.00. Not sure what the rest of you are thinking, but after driving Calgary s streets this winter, I am not so sure much has changed! 18
