Lowe Senior Lawn Bowling Award. Frank Lowe is one of the founders of Coveleigh and is credited for bringing Lawn Bowling to the Club. Vince Greco outlined Nancy s many contributions including serving as women s co-chair with Janet Joyce for many years, arranging events, league play and encouraging and instructing new bowlers. She was also captain of the women s league winning team in 2014 and 2015, women s doubles champion for 8 years, with 3 different partners, and was twice victorious in the mixed doubles championship. Nancy s participation and dedication to lawn bowling is unquestionable. She is most definitely well-deserving of the Frank C. Lowe Award and will see you on the green next season!

Women s First Place Team 2016 Lawn Bowling Season. June, 2016 saw a lovely start to the season. The weather cooperated. No rain or unbearable heat.

Thank you tennis players for joining the ranks! The women were in Louisiana stick friendly and had fun throughout the summer.

On the other hand, the men s league, fought tooth and nail to the bitter end. The final, held in mid-september, went to the ladies with a final of 9-7. Quite a finale!

2 Women s First Place Team 2016 Lawn Bowling Season. June, 2016 saw a lovely start to the season. The weather cooperated. No rain or unbearable heat. Unfortunately, July and August had extreme heat forcing changes in times, days and cancellations of events. The women s division saw a surge in numbers of new bowlers. Thank you tennis players for joining the ranks! The women were in Louisiana stick friendly and had fun throughout the summer. The winning women s team, (consisting of Jeanne Dering as Captain, Victoria Dillon, Barbara Finegan and Diane Murphy), was in first place throughout the season. On the other hand, the men s league, fought tooth and nail to the bitter end. The final, held in mid-september, went to the ladies with a final of 9-7. Quite a finale! John Hiensch, captained the men s team, with Jim McGuire and Bill Severance. The men also held the championship round with Vince Greco winning the top spot and Bill Severance coming in second. September 18th, the women played the men for bragging rights with the women coming out on top in three out the five matches. Go Ladies! The Lawn Bowling Dinner was held on September 25th. The Frank C. Lowe Award was presented to Nancy Pepe for her contributions to Coveleigh Lawn Bowling over many years. 5 CANDIDATES FOR MEMBERSHIP RECEPTION SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23 3:00 TO 4:00 PM Highlights for Candidates accepted this fall for 2017 membership Full Associate Membership Privileges November/December 2016 including Thanksgiving Dinner, Tree Lighting, Santa's Brunch, Gingerbread Cookie Decorating, Christmas-season dinners, Candy Canes & Cocktail Party, New Year's Celebrations, Coveleigh lunches, brunches, dinners, activities at the Carriage House and of course use of the Platform Tennis Courts. These new members are responsible for paying ½ initiation fee upon joining this fall with the balance payable in March No food minimums until March Half of the annual dues are payable in January 2017 with the balance due in March Assessments commence January The continuing growth and strength of our Club is very dependent on our membership. Coveleigh, with its strong "family-club" focus, offers so much to its members and their families and guests. Help us share the experiences by sponsoring friends and family. Help us grow our Coveleigh family. The Membership Committee will be offering several "Candidates for Membership Receptions" with the first on Sunday, October 23, 2016 and an additional reception in November with the date still to be determined. Multiple receptions will be scheduled starting in January 2017 and continuing through early May Now would be a good time to start talking membership with your family and friends.
