That includes all 3 boats on the team Vermilion Lake Outing at Spring Bay Resort, Cook, MN. Quite a few chapter members have expressed an interest in going back to Spring Bay Resort on Vermilion Lake in Cook, Minnesota (South of Ely about 60 Miles). I have been there about 6 times and they are one of the best resorts I have ever been to for hospitality and accommodations. Our chapter has it s club outings pretty well set for 2014 but I would still like to see how many members/ guests would like to go to Vermilion. Spring Bay will cut us a good deal on some lakeside homes that they now have. They have three 5 bedroom homes that have 9-12 beds in each one. Not sure what the cost would be but I know that after Aug. 23rd the rates at the resort are $247/week/person. You can check out their homes at The homes are the: Cross Waters; Wakeumup, and the Grissel. These are absolutely beautiful homes with everything you could want except a British maid. Let me know if you are interested in a fall outing there probably mid-sept. or Oct. If enough people (6 or more) are interested, I will get cost and timing. Spring Bay Resort has donated another one week stay there after Labor Day for our banquet. Upcoming Local Muskies Inc. 5 President Bill Jacobs 2 Cents!!! 5 My 2 Cents on Finger Nail Polish. Now that we are waiting for spring to arrive, it s a good time to repair our used baits and put that special touch on new ones we will get from the sports shows. I use clear finger nail polish to add an extra finish on the thread windings on all my new and used Bucktails. I apply 3 coats of polish; this keeps the windings from coming loose during the season. I also use the clear or a matching color polish to touch-up my chipped, nicked, tooth holes and wear marks from the hooks on my wooden and plastic baits. (Some use super glue). This keeps the wood from absorbing water making the bait expand and crack the finish. I also use white finger nail polish to add a white mark to the top of all my, glide, pull and twitch baits so I can see them in the water on the retrieve. I first noticed how well you can see how your bait is working when fishing a Hughes River many years ago. This really helps me adjust my cadence when using certain baits and it allows me to see my bait much easier when it gets close to the boat in stained waters, or at low light. With finger nail polish coming in all colors there is no end to what you can use it for. I keep a bottle in my boat for quick touch ups. Special Note! I buy my polish when I have my wife Sandy along with me. CONGRATUATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING NATIONAL MUSKIES INC WINNERS: Mens Masters: Bruce Ludke 4th Place Womens: Rosemary Owen 8th Place Charles Schauer 8th Place Pattie Miller 9th Place Juniors: Jesse Karau 6th Place
