We need your support to promote catch & release and muskie stocking. Resource education builds a better fishery. You Will Receive with Your Membership: 1. International membership card. 2. Muskie Magazine (10 issues) 3. Qualification for International and Headwaters fishing awards. 4. Headwaters Chapter monthly newsletter. 5. Camaraderie of other muskie anglers. Education Is Our Theme. Chapter money and member s efforts have been utilized by doing the following projects: Donated $6,000 towards the new restroom on Eagle Lake. Installed Know The Difference and Eurasian Milfoil signs at Vilas and Oneida County Lakes. Purchased and distributed 50,000 Know The Difference license holders. Members trained in boater safety offered classes throughout Vilas and Oneida Counties. Support Kids Fishing days with money and personnel. Donated to the Ben Bendricks Scholarship Fund. Purchased 10 handicap piers for various lakes. Assisted financially with improvements of boat landings throughout Vilas and Oneida Counties. Financial support to Three Lakes Fish & Wildlife Improvement Assoc. Financial support to Trophy Lake Research Project by the DNR Financial support for stocking bluegills in the Eagle River Chain. Donated half the cost of publishing Muskies, Inc. History Book. Stocking of over $50,000 worth of muskies in area lakes Contributed financially to new park and dock on Yellow birch Lake. Hosted state and international functions. Host of the Spring Classic Muskie Tournament on the Eagle River Chain and the Fall Classic Muskie Tournament in Three Lakes. Sponsor the $1,000 Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc. Memorial Scholarship at the Natural Resources School at UW Stevens Point, WI. The Headwaters Chapter has spent over $1 million in the last several years on the above projects!! The Headwaters Chapter was the recipient of the Wis. January 3rd, 7:00 pm Directors Meeting Gordo s Bar and Grill Hwy. 45 N. Eagle River Start your new year off by attending our annual Christmas party January 5, 2019 at Catch 22. The social hour starts at 5:00 with the meal to follow at 6:30. Dan Pudlo, Andy Hendrickson and their committee have teamed with fun ideas to make this event a must to attend. All attendees will have a choice of entering one of 8 FREE different drawings. As always, we will have a super raffle that they will be putting together. This event is open to non-members invited by members. This is a great way to have others experience what our chapter has to offer. Please get your reservations in early. Our membership and fish release contest will end December 31 st. So please enter your late season fish releases, to get into our contest. One person who entered a release will be drawn to win a rod and reel combo. Our continued positive leadership, along with our directors, has made us one of Muskies Inc. strongest chapters. 3 Minutes from December 5th Directors Meeting Meeting was called to order by President Bill Jacobs at 7:00 pm Minutes: Motion to approve minutes Jim Heffner 2 nd Tom Rahlf Motion Carried Treasurer s Report: Glenn Matula sent report to President Bill Jacobs Docks/Landings: Discussion of the Mud Creek landing condition of the road. The Eagle Lake Landing is all completed. It was mentioned of the possibility of working on a Moen Lake landing. Banquet Report: Joe Koschnik reported he has been working on the Donor letters which will be mailed out the first part of January. 3 Income $ Expenses $ Balance $51, Motion to approve Jeff Miller 2 nd Dale Peterson Motion Carried Spring Classic Report: No report Magazine Report: Articles need to be in by January 20 th. RVP Report: Elmer Jensen reported MI will be voting for President. Jim Ashton will run for President again. Motion by President Bill Jacobs to nominate and vote for Jim Ashton for President of MI. 2 nd by Elmer Jensen Motion Carried Jeff Miller shared there will be a big discussion next Tuesday about the continuance of MI Magazine. The calendars have been mailed out. The calendar is the only Fund Raiser for MI. Spring Sport Show: Headwaters did not get very many leads for the Spring Classic from the Musky Show held at the Washington County Fairgrounds near West Bend. It did not justify the expense of having a booth there. This year we will just go to the Musky Show at Wausau, March 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd. Chapter Challunges: Headwaters will be hosting the Kleeba this year. There will be no funding from MI this year. Alliance Report: No Report Member Outings: No Report Membership: Jim Chamberlin reported to President Bill Jacobs we have 300 members. We had a few drops. Fred Janick agreed to accept the position of Membership Chairman. We have lost approximately 70 members since the start of Did some of these members join other Chapters? You keep the same number you have been assigned when you first join MI. Fish Report: See Dale s report page 4. Old Business: All Directors up for election got re-elected. New Business: Former Headwaters President John Bishop passed away. He was only 59 years old. John served as President in Election of Officers: Fred Brogle nominated Carol Heffner for Secretary 2 nd Bill Jacobs Newsletter Report: Ready to go. Dale is working on the 2019 calendar. Correspondence: President Bill Jacobs reported Dick Stoegbauer contacted him about the possibility of a permanent pier at Braywood Landing. Dick was wondering if Headwaters would be willing to donate possibly $6,000 towards it. Several questions need to be answered before giving a commitment. Youth Report: Jim Heffner reported we applied for a $500 grant from MI to help fund the Wisconsin Conservation Youth Delegate Convention. The grant was awarded. This money will buy blank 7 Suick baits which the youth will design and paint on their own. The funding will help pay for the paints that will be needed. The youth will have an opportunity to win a musky rod, spinning rod and reel combo, various baits and other fishing related prizes. Motion by Fred Brogle, if for some reason the funding does not come through from MI, Headwaters will donate the $500 for this youth activity. 2 nd Jeff Miller Motion Carried Kids Fishing Tips will be held on Wednesdays, starting June 12 th through August 7 th,2019. The seminars will be held again at 6:30 pm at Hi Pines Campgrounds in Eagle River. Carol declined; Summer Hendrickson nominated Diane Jensen for Secretary 2 nd Elmer Jensen. Diane accepted and is our new Secretary. Congratulations, Diane! There are new people in charge of the Scholarship Program at UWSP and they want our committee to make their selection this month.

Photos are required for Lunker of the Month and Big Fish of the Year Awards. Lunker of the month winners have to be 40 or over for Mens and Womens divisions and 30 or over for Juniors. I have photos from everyone. If you send me photos, try to put them in a JPEG file as some of the files off your phones, I can not open. Like Outlook Android and also PDF files can not be modified if I want to crop or change the exposure. Bob Jacobs registered his 600th Musky with Muskies Inc. with this 41.5 fish caught during the ENDURO Oct. 27th.
