As a toddler, he would sit on the kitchen counter and watch his Grandparents (both Charleston natives) cook fresh, traditional Southern dishes. He received his first cookbook at the age of 8, and it only seemed natural that his childhood passion would become a career. Sean attended the Culinary Arts Program at Johnson & Wales University. After his graduation in 1997, he worked in several lowcountry restaurants honing his skills. In 2005, he began working at Yeamans Hall Country Club in Hanahan, SC. He spent the off-season working in Osterville, MA as a Sous Chef at Keeper's Restaurant (a quaint yet bustling seafood destination in Cape Cod). Sean left Yeamans in 2010 to open a French bistro and wine bar in Park Circle. As Executive Chef of Cork Neighborhood Bistro, he blended his own Southern heritage with traditional cuisine from the South of France. With an ever-changing menu that featured local seafood and seasonal produce, Cork Bistro became a popular spot among locals. In 2011, Sean became Executive Chef at the new Boeing plant in North Charleston. His daily routine consisted of freshly prepared meals and accommodating many dietary restrictions for more than 850 people (6-10,000 meals each week). Eager to return to his roots, Sean joined Rivertowne Country Club so that he would once again have an opportunity to prepare those classic Southern dishes from his grandparents kitchen. He still enjoys forays into international cuisine, but his passion for all things home cooked and homegrown continues to be the guiding principal for his favorite creations.

Handicaps Please remember you must have a verifiable USGA handicap through the GHIN system to participate with a handicap in RTCC tournaments. Handicaps are reviewed by the handicap committee before each tournament. Please post all scores through the handicap system and drop your score cards in the box beside the posting computer in the Member s Lounge. Inquire in the golf shop regarding handicap policies. A few of the most common handicap points: It is recommended that at least 5 RiverTowne scores be posted in a 3 month span to qualify as an active handicap. Use the equitable stroke control. Post all scores, even if less than 18 holes are played. (see section 7.3) Ladies R.E.D. 9 Holers mornings at RiverTowne. Please call the golf shop to sign up each week. 3 2016 Palmer Cup TaylorMade Fitting Day The Palmer Cup is a yearlong points race for RiverTowne golf members that began back in Inspired by the PGA Tour s FedEx Cup, the goal of the Palmer Cup is to encourage and reward participation in our tournament schedule. The emphasis for points earned throughout the season is strongly bias towards NET results, so golfers of all abilities are able to compete for points and prizes. For the 2016 season, the Palmer Cup points system will remain the same and the top placing Members will be acknowledged following the Ladies Member-Member in October. At the conclusion of the Palmer Cup, a tournament will be held to celebrate the season's top point winners! Any changes to the year end event and awards will be discussed at upcoming golf committee meetings More details on the champion weekend format will come out later in the year as we approach the conclusion of the Palmer Cup points season. Range Hours June Saturday first tee time to 7:00 p.m. Sunday first tee time to 5:30 p.m. Rice Planters Amateur Tournament RiverTowne Country Club will be hosting the 2016 Rice Planters Amateur Golf Tournament the week of June Some of the best amateur and college golfers in the world will be participating in this prestigious tournament. In fact, the Rice Planters Amateur Golf Tournament has a rich history of producing major golf Tournament winners. Hal Sutton won the 1979 Rice Planters and the 1983 PGA. Tom Lehman won the 1982 Rice Planters and the 1996 British Open. Stewart Cink won the 1993 Rice Planters and the 2009 British Open. Allen Doyle won the 1988, 1990, and 1994 Rice Planters and the 1999 PGA Seniors, the 2011 Ford Senior Players, and the 2005 and 2006 US Senior Opens. During this time, there will only be select afternoon tee times available for member play. However, we are happy to offer special discounted rates for you at other area courses!
