2 The winner of the WAPGC Aspen Day Stableford 24th November 2015 at Mt Lawley Golf Club Glen Waldock (Byfields Business Advisers) presented with his prize by Zack Taipi from Aspen Game Report In total 56 WA Pharmacy GC golfers & guests played Mt Lawley GC for the final game of the WAPGC Tour The weather was clear, mild and breezy and everyone enjoyed the well presented course and fine hospitality afterwards. What a great day to finish the year at such a wonderful course. Well done Glen Waldock from Byfields who came home with 41pts. 5 A Grade Champion WAPGC 2015 Nick Ng B Grade Champion WAPGC 2015 Phil Willis Ladies Champion WAPGC 2015 Petra Collier Presidentâ s Report Tyson Wellman The 2015 golfing year saw the culmination of 12 months of planning give rise to the premier event on our golfing calendar, the SA/WA Challenge. It was pleasing to see the South Australians, led by Colin Johns, make their way to WA to battle it out for the Cup, and although their numbers were on the low side, the friendships and

6 camaraderie was nonetheless inspiring. Ultimately it was pleasing to see WA regain the Cup again, having lost it to SA in The committee have introduced a few innovations to the club this year in online registrations and online payments, thus reducing the workload and streamlining registrations and game payments for the future. Reduction in member numbers has again been an issue and something the committee has sought to improve. We have tried a number of strategies to improve attendances this year including reduction in game fees, direct invitations to pharmacy banner groups, direct invitations to WA Pharmacy Students Association (WAPSA) and pharmacy groups (Early Career Pharmacists), mix of courses, changed game format with no significant impact on member number or attendances. Our most successful strategy has been our affiliation with Golf WA and associated AGU handicaps and it has been decided we will continue this association for the foreseeable future. Our sponsors have been excellent in 2015 and Iâ d like to thank them all for supporting the club and its members by enabling networking, idea sharing and providing an ideal setting for socialising outside the pharmacy, by sponsoring each of our games. Itâ s harder and harder to find willing sponsors but happily our core group of sponsors have risen to the challenge and can see the value in supporting the club and I hope our members, in turn, support them. 7 The Presidents Award has this year been presented to Rod Watts in recognition to his contribution to the club as a member, player & committee member. Most recently this year Rod oversaw the WA/SA Challenge which was a huge success. We salute you Rod & your wonderful wife & partner in crime Vicki. Captainâ s Report 2015 This year was always about the SA/WA Pharmacy Golf Challenge with planning and preparation beginning last year. The objective was to win the cup back from the Crow-eaters. The future of this historic event is in jeopardy with the SA Pharmacy Golf Club struggling to maintain members. We hope that this is not the case and we will do everything we can to assist them. A golf/footy weekend is on the cards in games played: Feb â Nedlands â a beaut little course Mar â Mt Lawley May â SA/WA Pharmacy Golf Challenge â Araluen, WA Golf Club, Melville Glades & The Vines Aug â Lakelands (4 ball-ambrose) â greens were in spectacular form Sept â Cottlesloe â Invitation by Dentists (We hope to make a regular fixture and revive this event) â always a favourite Oct â Kwinana â a surprising tight little course Nov â Mt Lawley â great course to finish the year The 2016 calendar is exciting with a few old favourites back in the mix. The committee works very hard to ensure that our members have access to the premier courses in WA, providing them with a great experience and value for money. Our affiliation with Golf WA and AGU handicap system has been in place for the second year now, it has worked very well, taking a lot of pressure off Don Bod. The committee has always seen it as a way to maintain and attract new

8 members to the club. Maintaining and increasing the membership and sponsorship is always a priority for the club. It fills me with great pride that our members are well-behaved, show the correct golf etiquette and are very respectful of our host clubs. So much so, that the host clubs always praise our club and our members, they keep us in high regard and look forward to our future events. I get great satisfaction when I see colleagues and friends who are passionate about â theirâ pharmacy industry in WA, passionate about their golf and who enjoy each otherâ s company, it simply doesnâ t get any better than that!
