2 As another season passes, we can take a look back and remember all of the exceptional events our Club has offered. Beginning with our Welcome Back party, ending with our End of Season event and all the exciting offerings in between, our amazing staff never missed a step to make sure that every event was a memorable one. As we bid farewell to many of our seasonal Members, those of us who remain active in the Club through the summer months have much to anticipate. This month, summer festivities begin with From Your President Bob Magrann Derby Day, which will be followed by an active social calendar throughout the summer. This edition of our Quail Trails introduces our new Board and Officers and the many new Committee Chairs, who devote countless hours to making everyone s Club experience special. We have also been fortunate to welcome many new Members to our Club this season. For me, personally, this is my sixth year serving on our Board and my fourth as President. During the last few months, I have been serving as our interim General Manager as we have been searching for the right person to assume this important position. After completing an expansive search, I am especially pleased to welcome Don Hunter as our next General Manager and COO. Don is currently General Manager and CEO of Chapel Hill Country Club in Chapel Hill, NC. Don, his wife Rose and their two children are looking forward to moving to Naples and to sharing everything that makes Quail Creek Country Club special. I know that once Don Hunter General Manager/COO you come to know Don, you will share our enthusiasm and enjoy the difference his leadership will deliver for our Club. Wherever your summer travels take you, we wish you the very best of health, happiness and a safe return to QCCC for an exciting season! Board of Directors & Officers Bob Magrann President Bill Senter Vice President Jim Clayton Secretary Stu Hodgson Treasurer Jerry Galeana Judith Mulholland Dr. Bill Pescod Jerry Westwood Douglas Wicklund 2 We Thank You! The continuing success of our Club is, in large measure, attributable to the fine people who have been willing to serve on the Board. The Directors (pictured at right) will be leaving the Board. They have given freely and generously of their time and talents. The membership extends a sincere Thank You. Brian Melton Judge Dan Monaco Carol Rhodes

6 MGA News As our golf season comes to an end, we would like to thank all who participated and supported the Men s Golf Association. Participation in each of our events has grown this year. The MGA tries to run events which lead to meeting new friends, as well as offering an opportunities to play with fellow Members who would not normally be in your group. We sponsor 14 events each season. The biggest event is always the Ryder Cup, and this year was no exception. The field was full with a wait list, weeks before the tournament. The winning team was Scotland, with co-captains Allan Ivascu and Joe King at the helm. The members of the Scottish team made a final day charge to overcome the frontrunning Irish team and take the crown and the money. Congratulations to this year's Men s Club Champion, Benji Freigang, who outlasted Richard Williamson to win the tournament. The March 40 Ball event, chaired by Joe King, was won by the team of Bill Hazzard, Bob Ellensohn, Dick Whitney, and Ciro Rossini. Nice job men! The MGA board would like to thank Paul Dell Uomo for the great job he did as President this season. His organization of the board meetings and tournament schedule was greatly appreciated by all. Congratulation to the MGA Board: Rick Clatt, President; Joe King, Vice President; Tom Benua, Treasurer; Stu Hodgson, Secretary; Gary Smith; Kevin Lamb; Bill Pescod; Tom Redmond; and Bill Senter. The helicopter dropped 150 golf balls near number 18 Green. The winning ball, bought by Kathy Herrmann for her grandson, Gill, was closest to the pin, winning them $5,000. The Lady Niners continued their support with a check for $1,600. The Quail Creek Relay team will happily accept donations until August 31. 8 Quail Creek Country Club has enjoyed one of its busiest seasons for membership recruitment in recent years as you can see by the number of new members whose pictures are included in this newsletter. Many of you encouraged your friends to take advantage of the opportunity that our Preview Membership Program offers and we thank you for that. Membership will continue to offer this program, which allows prospective members to defer the payment of the Initiation Fee for one year. At the end of one year of membership at full From Membership Jennifer May dues/fees, the Preview Member must convert to Class A Golf membership, convert to Social or leave the Club. This program allows a new member to learn how special this Club is. Preview memberships, with a guaranteed $35,000 Initiation Fee, will continue to be offered. We know from experience that this is a great way for those considering membership to fall in love with the Club. As we move into the summer season and as many of you settle in up north, remember to invite your friends, other club members, your physicians, accountants and attorneys to come visit us when they are in Naples. I am happy to give them a tour and lunch, which is about all it takes to get them excited about QCCC. Your help with welcoming new members and introducing prospective members is invaluable. Another source of new members is those who visit the Club during reciprocal season. We love the opportunity to show off our Club to others. You never know who could be our next prospect. If anyone expresses an interest, I am always available to give a tour and discuss our membership offerings. We will have a table in the Greenside Grille Bar area with brochures, the Quail Trails and other material for those interested. Please feel free to take these materials to pass on to others. Have a wonderful summer, wherever your travels may take you! 8 Last year, Quail Creek Country Club s website was redesigned to improve navigation.
