1 THE CLUB AT 12 OAKS MEMBER NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2016 Greetings from the GM s Office Mike Biscotti, General Manager Happy New Year! We want to thank you for your support of the club in 2015 and we look forward to serving you again in With the opening of the new clubhouse next month, our campus will be complete. The new clubhouse space, combined with the opening of the multi-purpose room last year, will give us the space needed to expand our programming and events for your enjoyment. The month of December was a very busy one at the club, both on and off the course. The mild temperatures afforded those of you who normally put your clubs in storage for the winter to squeeze in a few more rounds before the cooler winter temperatures return. We hosted over 50 members at our annual Tea and Tini event, 30 children participated in the Ginger Bread event, and a record 275 members enjoyed Breakfast with Santa! What a way to end 2015! The 2016 calendar is full of events and activities and, as some of you have experienced, club events are starting to fill up quickly. Please read your s and check the club calendar for dates and times of events you plan to attend and sign up early. We are excited about the new app we launched which will be another excellent communication tool for us and provide you with a resource that will give you easy access and immediate notifications to club information. We are seeing more and more people using the golf course for activities other than golf. As we kick off the New Year I want to remind you that we no longer allow the golf course to be used for anything other than its intended use of authorized golfers. An authorized golfer is someone who pays golf dues or is an invited guest of a member or the club and has checked in at the pro shop. Golf - Mike Mueller, Head Golf Pro Welcome to 2016! The Golf Committee and Professional staff are hard at work developing the Golf Calendar for the upcoming golf season.

When the calendar is complete we will send out a copy by email and also send out a notification through the new 12 Oaks Smartphone app.

4 Golf - Mike Mueller, Head Golf Pro Welcome to 2016! The Golf Committee and Professional staff are hard at work developing the Golf Calendar for the upcoming golf season. The greens conversion that is occurring this summer is forcing us to rearrange our normal schedule in some instances. When the calendar is complete we will send out a copy by and also send out a notification through the new 12 Oaks Smartphone app. Speaking of the phone app, please take the time to download it to your phone. Once you have done so, please go to the Manage Alerts section of the home screen and choose the channels you would like to receive push notifications from. All golfers should subscribe to Golf News and Golf Course Status channels at a minimum, as they will provide updates about upcoming events, tournament results and course closures. In other exciting news for 2016, we have purchased a Flightscope Launch monitor that the staff can use to provide better club fittings and lessons. Pair that with the fact that we have the lowest prices in town on golf clubs, and we are now the best place to buy your golf equipment! Finally, the Professional staff is working diligently to increase the instructional and player development offerings for players of all ages and abilities. Watch your and the 12 Oaks app for updates regarding our 2016 Instruction programs. Golf Maintenance - James Reese, GCSAA Class A Golf Course Superintendent Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. We had beautiful weather throughout December and hope you were able to play a few extra rounds of golf. Throughout January the Maintenance Staff will continue to spread mulch, repair irrigation leaks, prune trees, and perform weed control in the mulch beds. Toward the end of the month, we will apply our winter preemergent and weed control to the Bermuda grass. We will receive a new Bobcat Tracksteer this month. This piece of equipment will help us better maintain our native areas. Please respect the daily cart rule. Bermuda grass doesn t absorb as much water this time of year and will stay wet longer. The cart rule is in place to protect the course.

Members had a wonderful time at the Tea and Tini White Elephant Exchange, Gingerbread Decorating Social, Breakfast with Santa, and New Year s Eve Party. Each of these events sold out quickly and we would like to remind members to RSVP early to guarantee a spot at popular events. As we move into the new year we will continue on with our monthly social programming. Mark your calendars for Ladies Lunch Club the first Saturday of the month, Pub Trivia on the 3rd Wednesday, and the Coffee Gathering on the 4th Friday each month. These are great opportunities to enjoy time with your neighbors. This year we are focusing on programming to enrich the lives of our members.
