7 MADRAS RACES 2018/2019 NOTICES 1. All local horses based at Chennai should be stationed at MRC on or before Wednesday, 17 th October 2018 and not leave station before conclusion of the season except with the prior permission of the Stewards. However local horse/s will be permitted to race at any other centre and return to MRC with prior permission from the Secretary (Racing). 2. No stable or course fee will be charged. However, in case a horse does not race thrice (Twice in case of horses Rated 60 and above and horses foaled in 2016) during Madras Races 2018/2019, a stable charge of Rs.5,000/- (plus applicable GST) per horse for the season will be charged in respect of MRC based horses. 3. A Licensed trainers who do not have four or more winners to their credit or the horses under their charge do not earn minimum Rs.4 Lakhs in Trainer s commission from 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd or 4 th placing only in the current racing season may not be considered for grant of license for the following racing season. 4. a) An amount of Rs.1,500/- per horse per month has been fixed as the fodder subsidy (oats and bran) for horses under the charge of A Licensed Trainers w.e.f 1 st October Provided that the horse under charge of an A licensed trainer is in station on or before 17 th October Both oats and bran will now be supplied at cost price (Subject to GST regulations). B Licensed Trainers will be supplied oats and bran at cost price (Subject to GST regulations) and will not be eligible for any fodder subsidy. Further the subsidy amount of Rs.1,500/- per horse per month will only be credited at the end of the racing season subject to completion of requisite minimum runs (Point no.1of the NOTICES) and requisite condition (Point no.9 of the NOTICES) during the season b) An amount of Rs.1,000/- per horse per year has been fixed as electricity incentive for horses under the charge of A licensed Trainer s provided that the horse/s is/are in station on or before 17 th October Further the incentive amount of Rs.1,000/- per horse per year will only be credited at the end of the racing season subject to completion of requisite minimum runs (Point no.1of the NOTICES) and requisite condition (Point no.9 of the NOTICES) during the season

8 5. Horses that will attain the age of 8 years on 1 st January 2019 will only be allowed to race till 31 st March Subsidy/Incentive for the above mentioned horses will only be given till 31st December 2018 under MRC rules of racing. 6. A Licensed Trainers under Madras Race Club Rules of Racing should have minimum (10) Ten Horses and maximum (60) Sixty Horses under their charge. 7. a). Permission to bring out-station horses may be granted provided the horse/s is/are Rated 46 and above and 5 years old and below subject to availability of stables and specific written permission of the Secretary(Racing) MRC being obtained. Trainers will have to apply to the Handicapper of Madras Race Club for re rating of these horses. b) For bringing Out-Station horses the following condition will be applicable. The Stewards of MRC have decided to open races for 2/3 year old(horses foaled in 2016) and horses rated 60 and above, subject to permission of Secretary(Racing) MRC being obtained in advance and availability of stables. Horses must arrive before acceptance of the respective race and should leave within 3 days of participating in the race. If the horse/s concerned do/does not leave in time then Rs.1,000/- per day or Rs.10,000/- per month which ever is less (plus applicable GST) will be charged. 8. No entry fee/forfeits will be charged except for the sweepstakes races. However, a service 0.5 % (plus applicable GST) of the advertised stakes/professional fees to the winner (Owner, Trainer and Jockey) for races other than Sweepstakes Races will be charged in respect of entries made and scratched at the time of acceptance for the race/s. 9. A run considered substandard by the Stipendiary Stewards shall not be eligible for subsidy / Incentive. If a horse s performance is considered substandard on 3 occasions during a season, the horse will be considered as substandard and not permitted to race by the Stewards. However, horses certified unsound (veterinary ban period) to race by the Club s Veterinary Officer during the above racing season will be eligible for subsidy. Further, such horses which are unsound (veterinary ban period) and not raced for a period of one year shall not be eligible for any subsidy. 8

9 10. a). Horses which are entered in the Classic / Sweepstakes Races only will be provided free stabling for a maximum period of two weeks prior to the scheduled race and (They are also eligible for one preparatory race) will have to leave within a week after the race, however it may be extended at the discretion of the Secretary(Racing) MRC based on the availability of stables. b). A stable charge of Rs.10,000 per month or Rs.1,000 per day (plus applicable GST)whichever is less will be charged after the permitted period of stabling for outstation horses. c). Out-Station horses will not be eligible for any subsidies / Incentives during the Madras Races 2018/ Owners, Trainers and authorized agents are advised to keep sufficient funds in their accounts with the Club to cover any and every liability during the progress of the meeting. 12. All horses entering the Madras Race Club premises should necessarily carry a valid E.I.A., negative certificate (validity 120 days). Further, such horses should also carry a Health certificate issued by the Veterinary Officer of the respective Turf Authority indicating that the horse/s have neither suffered from nor shown any clinical signs of E.I.A., A.H.S., E.I. and glanders. 13. Owner s account will be debited by 0.5% from the Stakes money earned and credited to the Animal Welfare Board Fund to generate funds for retired race horses. The Stewards of Madras Race Club reserve the right to add, amend or alter any of the terms of the conditions of the prospectus at any time even during their validity at their absolute discretion. Further, the interpretation of any of the prospectus conditions will rest solely with the Steward of the Madras Race Club and their decision will be final and binding.
