Beaten favorites in that time were Shackleford (2nd at 3-2 in 2011), and Curlin (3rd at 4-5 in 2007). Favorites have won 15 of the last 20. Logical players also regularly complete the exacta. Only 1 horse in the last 9 years has finished in the exacta at better than 10-1 odds. Coal Play, 2nd in 2008 at 20-1, was also the only pacesetter in the last 7 years to finish in the exacta.
