A full list of all Sponsors will appear in the Show Catalogue. GENERAL RULES 1. ALL EXHIBITORS MUST BE a member of Fettercairn Farmers Club. 2. All stock exhibited by any member must be the BONA FIDE property of the exhibitor. Pure-bred cows must have had a calf during the past 12 months. 2. NOTE TO ALL WINNERS: All cups and trophies are to remain the property of the Club, unless otherwise stated and will be on show in the Secretary s Tent on Show day. 3. Protests must be lodged in writing with the Secretary before 1.30 p.m. on the day of the competition, accompanied by a deposit of 15 which will be forfeited in the event of the protest not being sustained. 4. The Management Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel any of the classes in the event of there being insufficient entries. All other rules and regulations are as stated in the Club Constitution which is subject to the interpretation of the Fettercairn Farmers Club Committee. 5.. Riding hats showing the BSI kitemark with codes PAS 015, VG1, SNELL 2001 and with secure chin straps MUST be worn at all times. 6. No animal can be entered or exhibited in more than one throughout the Cattle & Sheep Sections, except for Pairs, Groups etc. 7. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that stock be kept under control at all times. 8. The transit of Animals (Cleansing and Disinfection) (Scotland) Order 2000 applies to vehicles taking animals to and from the Show. Please ensure that all vehicles, including haulier transportation, are thoroughly clean. JUDGING Horses & Ponies will commence at 9 a.m. PROMPT Cattle & Sheep will commence at 9.30 a.m. PROMPT after which time no livestock will be admitted. * All prize winning livestock must take part in the Grand Parade unless, exemption has been granted by the Fettercairn Show Committee or Government Restrictions prevent participation. No livestock to be removed from the Show Ground until after the Grand Parade. * Judges are empowered to award prizes even though there should only be one entry. * Where more than one Judge is used to award a Special Prize or championship, each Judge will decide which exhibits having already come before him/her, shall be brought forward. OPEN CHILDREN S COMPETITIONS These two Children s Competitions are Open to all primary age children. 1, Design the Front Cover for the 185th Show Catalogue for the 2019 show. Rules On A4 size paper in Portrait style using either crayons, felt pens or paint. 2. Prince Harry and Megan made from Fruit & Vegetables Prizes:- Argo Shield will be presented to the winner of the Catalogue Cover competition Prize Money in each section 1 st - 15; 2 nd - 10; 3 rd - 5 Entries to be sent to the secretary by 6 th July or delivered to the Secretary s Tent in the Show Ground by 9am on Show day. PRIMARY SCHOOLS ART COMPETITION The theme for 2018 is The Royal Wedding and is open to all schools in the area. It is hoped that as many schools will enter as possible. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 6 th JULY 2018 to the Secretary. All entries will be displayed in the Children s Educational Tent form 11am until 4pm on Show Day. Entries will be returned to the School after the show. The Primary School Art Shield will be presented to the Overall Winner s School. MARY SINGLETON WOOL QUAICH for Overall Champion in the Wool on the Hoof & Fleece Section Livestock Scottish animals moving to Fettercairn Show for exhibition for the first time will not have to be kept separate prior to moving to the Show irrespective of whether any other livestock have been moved onto those premises in the 13-day period immediately before moving. If attending only one Show within any one 13-day period the animal will not require to be held separate on return from the Show nor will the return home trigger any a 13-day standstill for any other animal on the home farm. Also animals may move from Show to Show or may return to their usual premise of residence without triggering a 13- day standstill provided they are kept in separate facilities under an approved separation agreement with SEERAD. CATTLE 1. All cattle for exhibition must comply with current SEERAD regulations. 2. All cattle must be led in the Judging Rings, unless otherwise stated 3. Cattle must be ear tagged in accordance with SEERAD guidance. 4. Cattle moving to and from the Show must have their movements notified to BCMS (British Cattle Movement Service). 5. Fettercairn Show labels will be available on Show day. Passports must be made available to Cattle Convener. Showfield CPH number is 80/466/8001 SHEEP EXHIBITORS SHOULD NOTE THAT THERE IS A SECTION FOR MAEDI- VISNA ACCREDITED SHEEP, and these sheep must be accompanied by proof of Accredited Status. 1. Sheep including lambs must be individually ear-tagged/tattooed in accordance with SEERAD guidance. Spot checks, which reveal any sheep not complying, may be spraymarked after judging. The Area Office may issue a warning letter and on-farm checks may follow. 2. The Exhibitor must complete a Movement Document for the journey to the Show (this will also cover the journey back home). This should include your full CPH number and the Showfield CPH number 80/466/8001. At section A.2 enter Fettercairn Show and Return. Ear tag numbers must be listed for 13-day compliance. Do not surrender the document to the show organisers. 3. The Movement Document should be available for inspection by SEERAD/Local Authority staff upon request. If you are unsure of the action required, please contact your local SEERAD office. 4. The final will be held at Keith Country Show on Monday, 13 August, Champion from each Haltered Beef Cattle Section to qualify. The Final will be divided into 3 Categories: Native Cattle Champion 200 Reserve Native Champion 100 Continental Cattle Champion 200 Reserve Continental Champion 100 Commercial Cattle Champion 200 Reserve Commercial Champion 100 The Champion from each of these 3 Categories will then compete for the Overall Title of Scottish Beef Supreme Cattle Champion 2017 and a Prize of 300. HORSES Caledonian Showing Championships The Caledonian Showing Championships are now well established in the showing calendar and will once again give 2018 competitors the opportunity to compete at a top level Championship Final in Scotland. Evening Performances, loads of bling and razzmatazz... everything an end of season Championship should have! This year s show will be held at Howe, near Ladybank, Fife on 13/14 October 2018 This Show is a qualifier and every horse & pony placed 1 st and 2nd in all In hand, Ridden Showing classes (not fun classes) & Working Hunter/Pony classes will qualify to compete in any appropriate class at the Finals. Qualification will be from placings, no qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, and no qualification can go down the line.
