4 EGTON SHOW - August 22nd 24th GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. All Entries to be made on or before the first post on Wednesday 8th August to the Secretary,after which NO ENTRY WILL BE TAKEN: ALL ENTRIES MUST APPEAR IN THE CATALOGUE 2 Entry Fees stated. ALL ENTRY FEES TO BE PAID AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. Subscriptions do not include entry fees. Exhibitors will receive one Admission ticket for entry fees totalling 7.00 or over.cheques to be made payable to Egton Horse & Agricultural Society and crossed 3 Donations of 25 or more will constitute a Vice Presidency and entitles the Vice President to One car park ticket, One Luncheon Voucher also a Vice President s badge which admits to Showfield. Donations of 8.00 or more will constitute a Membership and entitle the Member to a Members Badge which admits to Showfield. There will also be a Junior Membership for Children of 16 years and under - donations of 3.00 will entitle the JUNIOR MEMBER a Members badge which admits to Showfield. 4 All animals must be the bona fide property of the Exhibitor at the time of entry 5 All exhibits to be on the Show Ground in time for the commencement of Judging from 9.00 a.m prompt 6 No Person will be allowed to enter the ring except the Secretary and her assistants, and one attendant in charge of each animal, which must not be distinguished by the name of the owner, or ribbons, or medals. Any person making any dissenting remark to the Judge whilst the stock is under inspection will be liable to be expelled from the field. 7 All objections to be made to the secretary, in writing, within half an hour of the Class in question, and each objection must be accompanied by a deposit of 25, this deposit money to be returned if the objection is upheld by the Show Committee and no entry will be accepted unless the exhibitor agrees at the time of entry to abide by the decision of the Show Committee in all matters of dispute without appeal to the law. 8 The Committee will use every precaution to prevent accidents to exhibits and the public, but should any injury happen, they will not hold themselves responsible for damages. 9 The Society will not be responsible for any losses, mistakes or Accidents of any description that may occur to any entry and entries will be received subject to this condition (See special note on entry forms) 10 The Committee reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate classes at its discretion. 11 In a class with three entries or less, the prizes will be awarded according to the Judges discretion. 12 No prize winning stock shall leave the Ground until 4p.m. (4.30 p.m. from tents) 13 The Public will be admitted to the Show Ground on payment of 7.00 each. school children All Brood Mares must be the dams of living foals at the time of entering, or certified to be stinted, in which latter case the premium awarded will be withheld until the owner satisfies the Committee that the mare is in foal. Except Class The Committee reserves the right to disqualify any exhibitor found breaking any of the above Rules. 16 Points system for trophies throughout the Show: 1-3 points, 2-2 points, 3-1 point. 17 All returnable trophies to the Secretary by closing Entries date. TROPHIES MAY BE COLLECTED FROM THE SECRETARY S TENT AT THE END OF JUDGING OF YOUR SECTION. SPECIAL NOTE:- No person, whether in charge of Stock or otherwise, will be admitted to the Show Field without producing an Admission Ticket. 5 HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDE LINES EGTON HORSE AND AGRICULTURAL SHOW In the event of an accident, involving competitors or visitors to the Show, Stewards, Medics UK, Honorary Practitioner, Honorary Veterinary Surgeon and Police are on hand to assist. Everything reasonably practical has been done to ensure health, safety and welfare at the event. Access to and from the site and Show rings must be kept clear. Visitors and competitors must heed the requests made by Stewards, in regard to parking and movement of animals about the site. The Society reserves the right to exclude any person who does not comply. FIRST AID First Aid available from Medics UK on the Ring Side. FIRE Fire Extinguishers are available at Secretarial Points. Emergency Services must be given clear access at all times. LIQUID GAS AND ELECTRICITY All portable electrical and gas appliances should have been tested by a competent person. This is the users responsibility. Persons bringing gas appliances/cylinders onto the showfield do so in accordance with HSE guidance note C34 WATER Mains water is available near Cattle, Show Hut and Pony Collecting Ring. TOILETS AND WASHING FACILITIES Portable toilets and hand washing facilities are arranged around the showfield. Disabled toilets are situated near the cattle lines & the Feather Tent. TO COMPETITORS AND VISITORS The Egton Horse & Agriculural Show committee and helpers are all voluntary and do everything they can to provide an entertaining, enjoyable, safe and healthy show. They welcome suggestions and constructive criticism, your comments in writing to the General Secretary Mrs.D. Jackson, 20 Beech Grove, Whitby. Tel: APPEAL Egton is one of the largest village shows in the country run by a band of voluntary helpers. If you have enjoyed your day and would like to contribute time to the Show, you would be very welcome, ten days for preparation and two days to pack and clear away after the Show. Please contact the Secretary or any committee member. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR Due to a change by the European Commission regarding EN1384 and BSEN1384 no longer being an accepted standard, all hats which only meet those standards, and do not comply with another approved standard from the list below will not be acceptable at The Show. All riders of horses or ponies on the showground or exercise areas are now required to wear head protection (hard hat) that conforms to the following standards for head protection for equestrian activities PAS015 (1998 or 2011) with BSI Kitemark, VG ( ) with BSI Kitemark, ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards) with SEI mark, SNELL E2001 with official SNELL label and number, AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) with SAI Global mark. Helmets must be worn with the chin straps correctly and securely fastened at all times whilst mounted. Passport must be carried with the stock. All entries must display the relevant catalogue number for the class on entering the show ring.
