TROPHY HOLDERS ARE ASKED TO PLEASE RETURN SAME ON OR BEFORE SHOW DAY SPECIAL PRIZES, ROSETTES ETC The British Goat Society offer: ROSETTE for Best Female Goat in Show; ROSETTE for Best Male Goat; CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE for Best Goat that has borne a kid; CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE for Best Inspection/Production goat; CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE for Best Male over one year old; CERTIFICATE OF MERIT for best British Milker that has borne a kid, ALSO Best British Male; BREED CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE for Best Goat which has borne a kid, ALSO Best Male Goat over one year old of each of the following breeds: Anglo Nubian, Saanen, Toggenburg, British Alpine, British Guernsey, British Saanen, British Toggenburg and Golden Guernsey. SPECIAL AWARD: The Dewar Challenge Trophy for the goat over two years old, other than an Anglo-Nubian, entered in the British Goat Society s Herd Book, securing the highest number of points in the milking competition. Grampian Goat Club offer: Class rosettes 1 st - 4 th inclusive Angus Agricultural Show offer: Special Rosettes for Best Female, Male, Goatling, Buckling, Kid and Pygmy Full range of Specials & Reserve The milking competition is to be held under the rules, regulations and recognition of the British Goat Society. All goats must be registered with the BGS (except Pygmy, Boer and Bagot goats) as in the ownership and name of the exhibitor, the registered name and number being shown on the entry form plus the kidding date for goats in milk. All goats in milk must have kidded or aborted a minimum of 30 days previous to show day.

2 Hereunder are BGS and other guidelines which will be followed by Grampian Goat Club: 1. All CAE certificates MUST BE VALID and on approved British Goat Society form. 2. Exhibitors are requested not to bring to the show any goat which has ever had a positive reaction to a CAE test. 3. Kids entered will be accepted on their Dam s CAE status. 4. No pregnant goat or one which has kidded/aborted within last 30 days may enter showground. In event of unforeseen kidding/abortion, goat must be immediately isolated from other goats, full details of goat, exhibitor and action taken to be reported in writing by Chief Steward to BGS Secretary immediately after show. 5. Kids must be a minimum of 2 months old by show date. The registration number of any goat initially entered RAF (Registration Applied For) MUST be submitted to Show Secretary before the goat competes. 6. No adult goat or goatling will be fed milk or milk substitutes. No goat shall receive stimulant, medicine or drugs without permission from and under supervision of a Steward or Veterinary Surgeon. 7. Milk produced at show should not be fed to goats of any age, it appears to have been a factor in spread of CAE. 8. Use of artificial colouring or plugging/sealing of teats will disqualify the animal. 9. Only animals whose name/number are in the catalogue may be shown. No substitute can be accepted. 10. The pail containing milk of each exhibit should carry a label bearing the name/earmark/show number of the exhibit. This pail must rest level on ground and be capable of being carried single-handed by secure handle. The Chief Steward has the right when checking empty pails prior to commencement of milking to refuse the use of any container which will not rest level on the ground or is not capable of being carried single-handed by a secure handle. 11. Any animal seen to be suffering from any transmittable disorder, e.g. lice, ringworm etc. will be excluded from showground. 12. No entries will be accepted in the B or W categories relating to Goat Health Classification unless CAE blood test results are on BGS submission forms or Sheep and Goat Health Scheme forms. This is to enable quick and accurate confirmation of the status of the goats attending a show. GOATS ATTENDING THIS SHOW WILL BE RESTRICTED TO THOSE ELIGIBLE UNDER CATEGORY W AS DEFINED IN BGS GOAT HEALTH IFICATION i.e. whole herd negative tested within the 12 months prior to show date, or alternatively current BGS CAE-Monitored status. 13. Classes may be split at the discretion of the Show Secretary, Chief Steward or Judge. 14. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to satisfy all SEERAD/DEFRA requirements. 15. No animal is permitted to leave the penning area after evening milking has commenced until it has concluded, i.e. milk samples are boxed and sealed and exhibitors have been advised they may remove their buckets. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. SHOW TIMETABLE FRIDAY: SATURDAY: All goats in milk must be penned and milked ready for stripping at 6.00 pm. Buckets to designated area by 9.00 pm Inspection of goats in milk at 6.30 am followed by first milking Commencement of Inspection Classes at 9.30 am prompt All stock arriving on Saturday morning must be penned by 9.00 am Straw will be provided free of charge for all exhibitors, courtesy of Angus Agricultural Show. ALL BRANCHES MUST BE TAKEN BY EXHIBITORS TO THE DESIGNATED AREA BEFORE DEPARTING THE MARQUEE. Exhibitors are requested to keep aisles tidy and free of obstructions at all times to allow easy access for themselves and members of the public. No smoking or gas bottles permitted within the marquee. All goats will be penned in one marquee. Sufficient room will exist within the marquee to show inside in the event of inclement weather. Pens will be allocated in line with the number of pens booked at time of entry. It is necessary to book tack pens. Entry passes will not be required for exhibitors arriving on Friday but will be required for Saturday arrival. Passes will be posted to exhibitors who require them the week before the show. Brechin Castle showground is located adjacent the A90 dual carriageway approximately 40 miles south of Aberdeen and approximately 27 miles north of Dundee. It will be well signposted. Grampian Goat Club/Angus Agricultural Show organisers accept no responsibility for any theft, injury or third party incident arising at this show.
