All animals penned at the Ohio State Fair must be shown. All terms and conditions are subject to change, including, but not limited to premiums. There are 7 breeds of Dairy Goats, with a total of $350 being paid to junior dairy goat exhibitors. Premiums will be paid on the basis of placing as follows: 1st place - $10; 2nd place - $8 1

2 SPECIAL RULES The Junior Fair Show will be a sanctioned American Dairy Goat Association Show through the courtesy of the Ohio Dairy Goat Association. The Junior and Senior shows ARE NOT separately sanctioned. ADGA rules shall govern. Following the completion of the Senior Doe Shows a Grand Champion of the show will be selected which will be the winner of the Junior Doe and Senior Doe Shows. Reserve Grand Champion of the show may be the Grand of the Division which did not win in the previous class or the Reserve in the Division that produced the Grand Champion. 1. This show is open to all boys and girls having dairy goat projects in Ohio 4-H or FFA. 2. Each exhibitor is limited to a total of ten (10) breeding entries with a maximum of two (2) entries per class. Substitution can be made only within the same class breed the animal(s) is entered. 3. Any breed failing to exhibit a total of 20 animals will be cause for evaluation of continuing this breed or division in future shows. 4. All entries must be made in the bona fide owner s name. 5. All junior dairy goat exhibitors shall present a certificate or registration for each animal shown. The certificate of registration for the animal shall stand in the name of the individual or the exhibitor's immediate family farm name. Any animal owned in partnership with anyone outside of the immediate family must have the individual name listed on the registration paper. 6. All goats must be dehorned. 7. Dairy goats presented for exhibition must show no evidence of contagious lymphadenitis (superficial abscesses), contagious ecthyma (sore mouth), or foot rot. These goats are not to be unloaded and cannot be shown. The exhibition officials and the approved veterinarian have the right to bar any animal from being unloaded, penned in the barn, or shown. They may order the removal of any animal. These decisions are final. For more information please go to Ohio Department of Agriculture website, click on the Division of Animal Health. 8. All breeds listed will compete in separate classes. 9. With the exception of junior, intermediate and senior kids, ages of all goat classes will be calculated as of the day of the junior show. 10. Grain, hay and straw, as well as first bedding, will not be provided; but, it will be available for purchase. Preferred Bedding is straw. 11. Pen assignments will made by management for both open and junior dairy goat exhibitors. 12. Junior Exhibitors must show their own animals. Exceptions will be made only for exhibitors who may be physically impaired, who have two animals entered in the same class, or an exhibitor absent on show day due to other commitments, In case of these exceptions another boy or girl who is eligible to be an Ohio Junior Division Exhibitor may exhibit the animal with the authorization of the Superintendent in charge. If a Junior Fair Livestock Exhibitor cannot be present at the time of judging, the exhibitor will need to present to the Department Director a written permission notice signed by the football coach, band director or any other person in charge of an activity that is in conflict and prevents the exhibitor from being present at the time of judging. This notice must be on official letterhead of the organization and given to the department director 24 hours before show day and must include name, county, birthdate, home phone number, and complete address of the exhibitor's, home and work of the person in charge of the event (i.e. football coach, band director, etc.) Also include a brief description of the conflict. 13. All exhibitors in individual classes must wear white trousers or skirts. White shirts are preferred however, colored dress farm shirts may be worn. 14. All chores must be completed by 9:00 a.m. 15. If an exhibitor leaves the show ring before being excused by the judge it may result in forfeiture of all premiums. 16. There will not be a Milk Out for Senior Does (Milkers). However the judge will take into consideration when placing animals if he feels an animal is over bagged. This amount varies from year to year and will be announced during each skillathon award ceremony. Each age winner and the overall skillathon champion in all nine (9) skillathons will receive an award sponsored by The Ohio 4-H and FFA Foundations. Additional information regarding Skillathons, Showmanships, Outstanding Market Exhibitor Project Finalist, and Project Book Record Contest can be found under Showmanship Division listed on the Ohio State Fair website. Exhibitor Information Complete animal information, animal count as requested on the entry blank. ONLINE ENTRY INFORMATION You may enter online at Exhibitors should keep their exact login information (user name/password). You must provide information for either your FFA advisor or 4-H County Extension Professional. The junior exhibitor s entry will not be finalized until the confirmation is received back from either the FFA Advisor, or 4-H County Extension Professional. This confirmation will take the place of the required signatures. Entry due date is June 20, this means the entry blank, and payment, must be postmarked by June 20. We do not accept metered mail. Please make checks payable to the Ohio State Fair and mail to Ohio State Fair, Entry Department, 717 East 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio You may use your credit card to pay for your entry fees. LATE ENTRY Any entries made after June 20 will be charged $75 late fee, plus animal charge. If entering both Junior and Open, then you will be charged the late fee for both, plus animal charge. Ticket Information No tickets will be required for Dairy Goat exhibitors, since the show is before the official opening of the Ohio State Fair. You will be charged a $5 parking fee each time you enter onto the fairgrounds. If you wish to purchase admission tickets for the Ohio State Fair, you may do so from the Entry Office at the following cost: $28 6-day (this ticket may be used by more than one person at the gate) $ 6 1-day (one person admission) Premium money (amount listed after the class information) is processed and mailed at the conclusion of the fair. Please be aware you will be asked for banking information, as your payment will be direct deposit. You may use either a checking or savings account. If you have won $499 and over in the past, you do not need to register. However, you are responsible to make any address or name changes, by going to www. supplier.obm.ohio.gov and update you information. 5
