Special fun class Saturday, March 3rd, 7:30 pm - Costume Class! (goat must be entered in open show) $5.00 entry fee. To be judged by show chairman. And a no frills Spaghetti Dinner, Barn Social Friday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm!!!! There will be no premiums or prize monies awarded except in Youth Showmanship. Rosettes will be awarded for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion in each division and Champion Challenge/Best in Breed. The order of the show IS subject to change at the discretion of the show committee. Animals without papers may not be shown. Junior and Senior Bucks will be sanctioned together. The Junior and Senior shows are separately sanctioned. The following breeds are sanctioned by American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and will be shown as listed: Nigerian Dwarf. 5 RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE 2018 March Mini Madness Show ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted up to and including the day of the show. Entry fee is $10 per animal for NDGCF members, $15 per animal for nonmembers for entries received (postmarked or ed by Saturday, February 24th, Entries received after February 24th or on the day of the show will be $15 per entry for NDGCF Members and $20 per entry for non-members. (Remember this is for 2 rings.) Substitutions will be accepted upon arrival. All substitutions will be done at check in time from 7:30 am 8:30 am. Exhibitor may provide own pens or 4 x 6 hog stalls in the barn can be rented for $5 for March 4th-5th only. If you want shavings, you need to supply your own. No straw or hay for bedding. You must clean up any hay or trash after use. If you set up your own pens, please clean up area after release from show. The official registration certificate is required for all animals 6 mos. of age or older. A duplicate application for registration stamped by the ADGA office is permissible for animals under 6 months of age. The registration or stamped duplicate application must be available to the show secretary at the time of arrival. All animals must be naturally polled, dehorned or dis-budded. Vendor space available for $30 (or an equivalent item for the raffle table). See Vendor Registration Form. A concession stand will be available for breakfast and lunch with a large variety to choose from, reasonably priced. SHOWMANSHIP: Judging will be based on the ADGA Showmanship Scorecard. Premiums will be awarded. Rosettes and ribbons will be awarded. Winner s certificates available thru ADGA. See for more information on the Showmanship requirements. All youth exhibitors will be required to be clean and neat and dressed in white or black jeans or slacks with a solid white shirt with a white collar. Youth may wear 4H or FFA attire. No caps or hats. Closed-toed shoes or boots are required. Exhibitors not conforming to the Dress Code will not be allowed to enter the Show Ring. Showmanship entries are free. Exhibitors must show a dairy goat officially entered in the open show. Showmanship entry must be filled out and given at check in (separate from open entry). SHOWMANSHIP JUDDGING: 1. Judging will be based on the ADGA Showmanship Scorecard 2. Ability to show a Dairy Goat. 3. Grooming and cleanliness of goat. 4. Ability to answer any questions asked by the Judge. 5. 6 Premiums for Youth Showmanship Only (minimum) Pee Wee - $5.00 each placing First place - $20.00 Second place - $15.00 Third place - $10.00 Fourth place to???? - $5.00 HEALTH RULES Health papers are required. All goats consigned for public exhibition in Florida must be accompanied by official certificates of veterinary inspection dated not more than 90 days prior, certifying animals to be free from symptoms of contagious or infectious diseases. Goats imported into Florida must have an OCVI dated not more than 30 days prior. Dairy goats originating from Florida (not imported) are exempt from TB/Brucellosis testing requirements. All imported dairy goats 6 months of age or older must originate from a certified/accredited herd (with appropriate documentation), or have verifiable, documented negative testing results recorded on the OCVI. All animals must be free from clinical symptoms of caseous lymphadenitis. Animals showing clinical symptoms of this disease will not be allowed to enter the area of activity or to become associated with animals entered by other participants. With reference to CL, clinical symptoms is the term used to define enlargements of the lymph nodes, whether draining or not. Evidence of incised lymph nodes will be interpreted as prima facia evidence of CL in the animal under scrutiny. All animals must be free of all contagious diseases. OPEN SHOW ATTIRE Dress is casual. Closed toed shoes or boots are required. Exhibitors not conforming to dress code will not be allowed to enter the ring. RELEASE Animals are released upon completion of their classes.
