Early entry fees: Youth Show Friday Night: $10 per animal ABGA $20.00 per head per show or all three shows for $50 per animal if post marked by May 10, 2017; Entries posted marked after May 10, 2017 add $5.00 per animal. ALL LATE ENTRIES MUST CALL AHEAD TO SEE IF LATE ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED, BASED ON AVAILABILITY OF REMAINING PEN SPACE. Due to limited pen space, those who are showing Friday only will show out of their trailers, there will be no pens and no pen fee assessed. All pens will be assigned, $5 per pen, only 1 tack stall per entrant Fees must accompany entry form via US Mail for entry to be accepted and pens assigned. No entries accepted. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS! You must bring your own bedding. No bedding will be available. Overnight Accommodations Dakota Horizinn, Parkston, SD ASK FOR SD GOAT SHOW RATE! (605) Parkston is 12 miles (15 min.) North of Tripp connected by Hwy 37 Rooms are clean and reasonably priced. RV/Camping: Hook-ups are available at the park across the street from fairgrounds for $10 a night. First come first serve Dry Camping is available on grounds for $5 a night.

3 Rules and Show Information HEALTH AND IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR EXHIBITING GOATS 1. No goat that is within 30 days of giving birth (either before or after) may be exhibited, without prior approval by the Board of Animal Health. 2. All goats being exhibited in South Dakota must be officially identified. Official ID for goats includes one of the following: -Scrapie tag containing the USDA shield. -Legible breed registry tattoo that is recorded in the book of record for a goat registry association. Each animal must be accompanied by a copy the registration certificate, or a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) (see below). 3. Goats originating from outside of South Dakota must be accompanied by a current CVI issued by an accredited veterinarian. *For a CVI to be current, the animal must have been inspected by the veterinarian within 30 days of entry into South Dakota. *The CVI must include: *The scrapie tag number, or *The official tattoo number (both prefix and individual animal number) and, when applicable, the registration number. 4. Any evidence of club lamb fungus, ringworm, abnormal abscesses, foot rot, sore mouth, or any other contagious disease will eliminate the animal from the show. In case of a dispute, a veterinarian will be called at the owner s expense. Animals refused for health reasons are required to stay in their vehicle and will not be shown. RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. ABGA Entries close May 10, 2017 and must be on an official entry form(s). This form must be properly and legibly completed with all requested information, signed by the exhibitor and postmarked on or before the entry closing date with the correct entry fee for the entry to be accepted. The Show secretary reserves the right to reject entries that are incomplete. Entries are to be mailed to: Jennifer Martinez, th St, Ethan, SD Entries postmarked after May 10, 2017 may not be accepted, based on the amount of pen space available after early entries have closed. Late entries need to call to see if their late fee will be accepted. 2. Entry fees, pen and tack pen fees: *An entry fee of $10 per head per class will be charged for the youth market/commercial show. There will be no pens and no pen fee for those showing only Friday night. * An entry fee of $20 per head per ABGA show class or $50 per animal for all 3 ABGA shows show will be charged. Pen fees will be $5 per pen. Each ABGA exhibitor will be charged for at least 1 pen. There will be a $5 charge per tack pen. Entry fees, pen fees and tack pen fees must be paid when entry is made. There will be no refunds. Checks should be made payable to Hutchinson Co Meat Goat Club. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Officials will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check and any premiums due will be forfeited.

4 3. Stall bedding and clean-up: You are required to use wood shavings for bedding. Shavings will NOT be provided for purchase, you must bring your own. Rubber mats or other covering are not allowed as bedding. Hutchinson Co Meat Goat Club will be responsible for pen clean up, please try to clean up your area to the best of your ability, leaving only items that can be used as compost. 4. The End of School Year Blowout will be sanctioned by the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA). ABGA rules will be in effect for the ABGA shows. If necessary, the SD Blowout Show Board reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules, settle and determine all matters, questions and differences arising from or connected to the ABGA Show. Awards will be presented based on this association s sanction rules. For copies of these rules and regulations contact the American Boer Goat Association, 1207 South Bryant St., Suite C, San Angelo, TX or 5. Eligibility of Animal: A. All goats must be registered in the ABGA herd book by check in. a) All goats entered into ABGA sanctioned shows must be registered with the ABGA in order to acquire Ennoblement points. b) Original registration certificates are required, except that a copy of a registration application, stamped with the date received by one of the listed associations, can be accepted for kids less than 3 months of age. Animals over the age of 3 months must have the original registration certificate in hand at time of show. B. Exhibitor is required to refrain from showing any animal owned by the presiding show judge 90 days prior to show date. 6. Tattoos: All goats must have legible tattoos consistent with the registration certificate or the animal will be disqualified. If an animal is disqualified due to illegible or inconsistent tattoos, all lower placing animals will be moved up in placement. Point winners from each class must have their tattoos read and recorded. The judge will be responsible for ensuring that tattoos are read and properly recorded. The show secretary will be responsible for recording the tattoos and informing the judge as to which point eligible goats will need to be checked. 7. Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed as long as they have the same ownership as the original entry. Substitutions must be ed to Jennifer.j.martinez@k12.sd.us or made over the phone at by May 15, 2017 or else will not be allowed. 8. Computing Ages: Birth dates, as listed on the Certificate of Registration, will be used to determine the class divisions. See class division for breakout. 9. Classes: All animals except market goats and commercial does must be registered purebred, Fullblood or percentage blood Boer goats. Percentage doe classes are for goats 50% to 88%. Purebred/ Fullblood classes are for does that are 93.75% and higher and bucks that are 96.87% and higher. Bucks 96.86% and lower are not eligible to be shown. Progeny of fresh does will not be allowed in the ring with their dam. At the discretion of the judge and show officials, goats may be turned loose in the ring as a function of judging. The Division Champions will be selected from the first place winners of the individual classes. The Division Reserve Champions will be selected from the remaining first place class winners of the individual classes plus the second place winner of the class from which the Division Champion was chosen. The Grand Champion will be selected

5 from the Division Champions. The Reserve Grand Champion will be selected from the remaining Division Champions plus the Reserve Division Champion from which the Grand Champion was chosen. 10. Bracing of ABGA Percentage, Full Blood Does and Bucks and Commercial Does: No animal bracing allowed at ABGA Sanctioned and commercial breeding goat classes. Goats front legs must be on the ground during judging. Front feet must remain on the arena floor during Judge s evaluation. Exhibitors may lift feet off the ground for a period not to exceed 10 seconds when positioning the goat. 11. Bracing of Market Goats: Bracing of animals will be tolerated if the animal has all four feet on the ground. Exhibitors must use a collar or halter to control their animal. Abusive treatment of animals will not permitted. Any violation will result in immediate dismissal. 12. Noncompliance: Noncompliance to show rules will result in dismissal from the show. Show officials have the right to ban an individual if they consider it necessary for the good of the show. There will be no refund, of any kind, issued to an exhibitor if that exhibitor has violated any rule. 13. Market Goat Classes All market goats will be weighed in on May 19 from 4:00-5:00 p.m.. Classes will be determined by weight and announced prior to the show. There will be separate classes for market does and wethers; however, all class winners will compete for Champion Market Goat. Market goats should be born after November 1, This is a prospect show. No yearling teeth. Market does cannot be shown in the breeding classes. All market goats must be uniformly clipped with 3/8 length of hair or less above the knee and hock joints.
