GWOBRAU PRIZE MONEY The pig prize money scale, which is based on the number of pigs forward in each class, is as follows:- Pigs per class 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 1-3 entries entries entries entries and over TYWYSWYR HANDLERS All persons present in the Pig Ring during judging, handling pigs in the Main Ring Parade or present in the Main Ring Parade, MUST be a minimum of 11 years old on the first day of the Show. (This rule does not apply to the Young Handler Competition). TALIADAU YMGEISIO ENTRY FEES Each entry is 9.00 for members of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and for non-members. As per 2017, exhibitors will be required to enter the group classes and pay an entry fee. If entries are withdrawn, in writing, prior to Friday, 29 June 2.35 of the entry fee shall be withheld to cover printing costs. Failure by any exhibitor to notify the Society of their absence in writing and return any tickets or passes received, may result in action being taken against that exhibitor. Under the terms of the Society s Disciplinary Procedure, any exhibitor who is found to have breached the Society s rules may be barred from exhibiting at future shows for a period of time Closing date of entries 25 April 2018 TÂL CWT MOCHYN PIG PEN FEE A fee of (including VAT) will be charged for each pen. The full amount may be refunded if the pen is cancelled in writing and received before Friday, 29 June. NEW;- There will be no pen restriction for exhibitors this year. However, if pens are oversubscribed the Society will reduce exhibitors pen allocations accordingly. Exhibitors will be informed of this decision as soon as possible. Exhibitors are NOT permitted to book tack pens at the Show; the Society will allow exhibitors to utilise any spare pens to accommodate their tack at the discretion of the Chief Steward. GWELLT STRAW Initial straw will be provided. Straw tickets for any additional straw required will be available from the Chief Steward only. No straw will be delivered on Thursday 26 July. Delivery times will be announced. CYRRAEDD ARRIVAL All pigs must be on the Showground no later than 3.00 pm, Sunday 22 July. The arrival times allowed are as follows: Saturday 21 July am to 7.00 pm Sunday 22 July am to 3.00 pm 122

Q BPA YOUNG PIG OF THE YEAR COMPETITION 2018 The highest placed junior pig owned by a member of the British Pig Association will qualify for the BPA Pig of the Year Competition, with the final to be held at Royal Three Counties Showground as part of the Malvern Autumn Show 29 & 30 September A condition of entering the competition is that prize winners at preliminary rounds must intend to exhibit at the Final. The award is open to all breeds of pedigree pigs entered at the Show. The object is to determine the best young pig born in the year of the show as an example of their respective breeds. Aside from being the property of a member of the BPA or of the British Lop Pig Society, the pigs must also be litter notified and registered in BPA's herd books or the herd book of the British Lop Society. To be eligible for a qualifying round a pig (male or female) must be born after 1st January of the year of the Show. A pig judged Best Young Male or Best Young Female in a qualifying round cannot compete in any subsequent round. If a pig having qualified at an earlier show again qualifies at a later show the judge for that breed shall select an alternative pig of the same breed and sex from any class covering the required age group. At each qualifying round the judge will select the Best Young Male and Best Young Female. The Best Young Male and Best Young Female from each of the qualifying rounds will enter the Final. Prizes for preliminary rounds will be a glass trophy for the best young pig of each sex. Note; Rosettes only will be presented at each preliminary round. Glass trophies for preliminary rounds will be presented at the Final. The Final will be to judge the Best Modern Young Male and Female with reserves and the Best Traditional Male and Female with reserves; the Best Young Pig (i.e. Young Pig of the Year) and Reserve. In the Final the Modern and Traditional Male and Female Champions will each receive 60, Reserve Champions 30, Overall Champion 200 and the Jack Howlett Memorial Trophy, and Reserve

In the event of a draw between two or more exhibitors, the Championship Judge shall use his or her discretion in choosing the winner. S.1221 *W&BCPBA BEST PEN PRESENTATION AWARD To be judged at approximately 3.30 pm, Wednesday 25 July. *W&BCPBA and RWAS rosettes will be awarded to the 1, 2 and 3 prize winners. All pig exhibitors will be considered for this award. Exhibitors are invited to look upon their pens as a Herd Display with information and material relevant to this. Any other farming activities and livestock kept at home should not be part of the display. Marks will be awarded for the following: General cleanliness of the pens and presentation of the pigs. Marketing and promotion of the herd. Information about the Breed(s) on display. The overall effect of the above three categories. The use of decorative materials such as floral displays should be restricted and will not be included in the marks. Kit pens will not be considered in the judging. Qualifier for the Oxford Sandy & Black Pig Society Champions of Champions competition, to be held at the Royal Berkshire Show, Newbury on 16 September If the pig has already qualified then the reserve will qualifiy in its place. Entries must fulfil the BPA conditions relating to those pigs. AMODAU CONDITIONS 1. Pigs to have been registered in a published volume or accepted for entry in a forthcoming volume of the BPA's Herd Book or the BLPS herdbook as appropriate. (It is not sufficient for an animal to be "eligible for registration"). Animals registered in a Grading Register of a Herd book are not eligible for entry in these classes. The ear number, registered name, Herd Book number and date of birth of each pig, also, must be supplied for printing in the Official Catalogue together with the name of the breeder in cases where the exhibitor is not also the breeder. 2. At all Shows in 2018, female pigs (all breeds) born before 1 January 2017 shall be eligible to compete only if in the six calendar months prior to the Show they have farrowed, suckled and reared to four weeks of age, a litter of pigs. 3. At all Show in 2018, female pigs born on or after 1 January and before 1 Julyin the year before the Show must within 18 months of their date of birth have farrowed, suckled and reared to four weeks old a litter of pigs. 4. Boars of two years of age and over, (all breeds) are to be certified as having sired at least three live litters within the twelve months preceding the first day of the Show. The pigs comprising such litters are to have been litter notified in the BPA's Herd Book or proof of their birth must have been given to the Association. 5. Boars aged twelve months or more at the time of exhibition must have their tusks cut prior to the Show. 6. ALL BOARS must be shown by TWO COMPETENT ADULT HANDLERS who are equipped with protective boards. 7. The use of artificial colouring, whitening and/or powder on pigs as well as the removal or addition of spots by artificial means is prohibited (white woodflour is permitted). 131

(Tel: ) TALIADAU YMGEISIO ENTRY FEES Each entry is 5.10 for members of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society and for non-members. This payment enters exhibitors into both of the goat shows. All exhibits must be registered with the BGS as in the ownership and in the name of the exhibitor, the registered name and number and identification number being quoted on the entry form. (Also the kidding date for goats in milk). All goats in milk must be kidded or aborted a minimum of thirty days previous to the date of the Show. All exhibits must be CAE negative. If privately tested, a certificate showing that the animal has had a negative CAE test and has been signed by a veterinary surgeon within twelve months of the Show and must be produced to the Chief Sectional Steward or his deputy, before the animal is unloaded and penned. Exhibitors will be required to provide proof of membership of DEFRA or BGS Schemes. No pregnant goat may be admitted to the Showground. In the event of an unforeseen kidding or abortion, the goat must be immediately isolated from other goats. Full details of the goat, exhibitor and action taken must be reported in writing by the Chief Steward, to the BGS Secretary, immediately after the Show. Health Classification a. BGS Monitored Herds - A current certificate must be included with entries. b. All Other Goats - Entries will be restricted to goats that are whole herd negative CAE tested within twelve months of the date of the show. BGS Regulation 26 (b) (i) defines whole herd for CAE testing purposes. No entries will be accepted unless CAE blood tests results are on BGS submission forms. This is to enable quick and accurate confirmation of the status of the goats attending the show. There will be a minimum two metre gap, between goats from a) and b). Scrapie Monitoring herd scheme will also be approved in the dairy goat section. Exhibitors are advised that milk that has been passed through the communal weigh bucket should not be fed to kids, as this has been a factor in the spread of CAE in the past. Exhibitors must ensure that they comply with the requirements of national legislation for Recording, Identification and Movement of goats in force at the time of the Show.
