2 Important Information from the PSAA Board Meetings Regional Realignment Starting January 1, the PSSA will be trying a new alignment of the regions. This will be a trial basis for 2014 season. The board will revisit this during the October 2014 meeting after reviewing the shooter participation. During the meeting the board will vote to determine whether it will become permanent or not. See the Regional Listings and Section both in this Newsletter and on the Website for full details! Youth Classification All youth that move from one age group to another must reclassify for the new age group. PreCadet Children 9 and under will be in a pre-cadet division. These children will compete as division based groups with no classification. The will be accompanied by an adult shooter for the field tournaments. Youth Qualification All new youth must shoot a qualifying round for target games (indoor & target rounds) and field games (field/hunter & animal) at a PSAA club monitored by a knowledgeable PSAA member prior to attending a State Championship Tournament. Classification This is an important process and needs to be completed before attending a State Tournament. You can classify at a Regional shoot or at any PSAA member club. If your club is not a PSAA member, contact your regional delegate for help. If you are not classified prior to a State Tournament, you will be placed in the top class of your division for the tournament. The only classification cards that will be accepted at the tournament will be the Official PSAA Classification Card. BOX 776 NEW KINGSTOWN, PA PHONE: FAX: julia_yarlett@comcast.net Special notice to all archers: Please be advised that you are to bring your own cardboard or backing for your target especially if you are shooting carbon arrows or short arrows. This will help eliminate the chance of a pass-through. The PSAA will NOT provide backing for anyone, so remember to bring your own. Also, it is advised that you bring some kind of arrow lubricant to lessen the difficulty when you are pulling your arrows. Target assignments will be posted on the back wall in the room where the tournament will be held. For those of you who have participated in this tournament in previous years, the target assignments will be in the exact same place where the results from Saturday s round are posted. I would ask that you help direct any new shooters to this place. All scorecards will be placed at your assigned target. The time request is the time you can expect to shoot. You WILL NOT receive any confirmation stating the time you will be shooting. If, by some chance, there is a problem or we need to make a change, you will be contacted by phone. If you would like to shoot with a certain group during this event, please make sure that you indicate this on the shoot application that you send in.
